Chapter 749 Looking for Naomi
After the call ended, I used my resources to search for Naomi within the crash site area.
I sat in my office, waiting for news, while blaming myself for sending Naomi abroad so early. If I hadn’t, she wouldn’t have met with this tragedy.
The day passed in a gloomy haze, and it wasn’t until evening that I received a call from Caden
“Any news?” I asked anxiously.
There was a long silence on the other end
efore he finally said, “Don’t worry, we’ll find her.
His words hit me hard. He was saying they hadn’t found her yet.
a
“Don’t be sad, we will find her. It’s just matter of time,” Caden continued, trying to comfort me when he heard I had gone quiet.
“I’m going to look for her.” I made up my mind, hung up the phone, grabbed my coat from the chair, and ran out of the office.
I flagged down a taxi and told the driver to head straight to the crash site.
The plane had crashed by the coast, and the taxi sped there. As soon as we arrived, I jumped out of the car and rushed toward the shore without hesitation.
The police had already cordoned off that part of the sea, and the surrounding area was swarming with reporters and crowds.
“What are you doing here?” Caden was also at the scene. His face darkened when he saw me.
“I couldn’t sit still, so I had to come find her myself,” I said, slightly out of breath. The exhaustion from the past few days was catching up to me, and after just a few steps, I could feel my body struggling.
Seeing this, Caden immediately stopped me. “There are so many people searching here already. What if you can’t find her and get lost too?”
“I can’t just sit by and do nothing,” I argued, unable to hold back.
“This place is huge. Searching here is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Even if you go, you might not find her.” Caden shook his head, clearly against the idea.
“How do you know if you don’t try?” Anxious, I walked right past Caden and hurried towards the sea.
“Stop! Stop!”
As I was running toward the shore, a voice suddenly called out behind me.
It took me a moment to realize someone was calling me.
“Who are you?” I stopped and turned around, only to see an unfamiliar woman.
“I’m Samuel’s mother!” Cleo’s tone was cold.
I had heard Naomi mention before how badly Cleo treated her, and now, seeing her in person, she truly

seemed like a proud and arrogant woman..
May I help you?” I asked politely, trying to keep my tone neutral.
“You’re Naomi’s boss? You’re the one who made my son get on this plane?” Cleo came at me with a sharp accusation.
I frowned. “When did I ever make your son get on that plane?”
“Don’t lie to me!” Cleo snapped, pointing angrily at my nose. “If it weren’t for you, how would my son be on the passenger list of that crashed plane?”
I was taken aback. Samuel was on that plane, too?
“Stop playing dumb! My son hasn’t been home for days. He must be with that woman. Did you hide them both?” Cleo pressed on, still furious.
“I don’t know anything about that, but Samuel’s in his 20s. Isn’t it normal for him not to come home sometimes?” I could only respond like this.
Naomi was my employee, and it was Naomi who asked for my help. Samuel stayed behind just to keep her company.
Everyone bore some responsibility in this situation, but Cleo immediately put all the blame on me. Anyone would find that unbearable.
“This is a matter for our Meteor Pack, and it has nothing to do with you,” Cleo snapped, clearly angry. “If it weren’t for you hiding my son, would he have gotten on that plane?”
Her relentless accusations left me feeling helpless. “Please watch your words, Mrs. Foster. Your son is an adult, and where he goes is his choice. How could I hide a grown man?”
Naomi was my employee; I felt responsible for her, but Samuel had nothing to do with me.
“Y–you’ve put my son in danger, and now you won’t even admit it? How can someone like you exist?!” Cleo started arguing with me.
“Mrs. Foster, please get your facts straight. It wasn’t me who made your son get on that plane, so don’t blame me for this,” I shot back, not backing down.
I was already upset about Naomi’s situation, and now Cleo’s outburst only made my frustration worse. “What I’m saying is right! Naomi is just an unreliable woman. I don’t know what my son saw in her,” Cleo said, badmouthing Naomi right in front of me, which definitely crossed a line.
“What’s the point of saying all this here? Naomi’s situation is just as uncertain as your son’s. Here you are just complaining and blaming everyone else, as if people aren’t trying to find your son!” I shot back.
My words made Cleo lose her temper. “I don’t need you to lecture me! Don’t talk nonsense. Naomi is unreliable, and so are you as her boss. I really need to tell my son to seriously reconsider everything.”
“You!” Her words made me dizzy. I swayed.
The achievements of the company over the past few days were clear to everyone, yet in Cleo’s eyes, they meant nothing.

“What? Am I wrong? You-”
That was the last thing I heard from Cleo before I fainted.
