The first day’s box office results weren’t great, which made me a bit sad. Though I was still a newcomer and only played the second female lead, I had put a lot into this film and really hoped it would perform well at the box office.
Rosaline kept comforting me. “It’s okay, this is just the beginning. There will be plenty of opportunities ahead.”
I tried to hold back my emotions, not wanting to cry in front of her.
The surprise came the next day when the movie’s box office suddenly surged, more than doubling the sales from the first day.
Rosaline and I stared in disbelief at the data on the screen, the rapidly rising numbers leaving me completely stunned.
“I–Is this really the box office for my movie? Did I open the wrong website?” I asked, still in disbelief as I looked at the numbers on the screen.
“Silly, it’s definitely yours,” Rosaline laughed.
“Look, Rosaline, so many top influencers with millions of followers are recommending this movie!” I said, handing my phone to her.
After looking at it, Rosaline nodded and said, “So, the high box office must be from all these people going wild online, sharing and promoting it. That’s why there are so many people here today.
“Not bad, Naomi,” Rosaline handed me back my phone and nodded in approval. “Since you’ve been doing well these past few days, I’ll give you a bonus.”
“Really? Thank you, Rosaline!”
In the following days, the movie’s box office continued to double, eventually breaking the record for the
year.
As the second female lead, my presence even overshadowed the main lead, becoming the subject of discussions among netizens.
With the box office surge, my reputation gradually improved.
After all, in this industry, it was all about talent. If you had a standout work, you’d gain recognition.
Now, the online reviews of me had completely turned around. Many people praised me for earning the role with my skills.
Of course, no one brought up my past controversies anymore. I had suddenly risen to the top.
Seeing the movie’s huge success put me in a great mood, and just then, I received a text from Samuel.
Since the box office was doing so well, Samuel believed I could make something of myself, and he wanted to take me to meet his parents.
Staring at the text, my heart raced. I didn’t expect this day to come so soon.

I rushed home, but after rummaging through my closet over and over, I couldn’t find a single outfit that felt right.
I was a bit speechless. Samuel was the heir to Meteor Pack, and I didn’t want to embarrass him. I had to make sure I dressed well to meet his parents.
I usually preferred loose, casual clothes, and aside from those, I only had costumes for work. Left with no choice, I went to a clothing store and made an effort to dress nicely.
When Samuel came to pick me up, I nervously got into the car heading to the Meteor Pack villa.
As soon as I stepped inside, one feeling hit me: it was magnificent.
Everywhere I looked, it was sparkling, and the entire villa was bright and elegant, yet still exuded a sense of grandeur.
“Mrs. Foster, Mr. Foster.”
Samuel’s parents were sitting on the sofa. I walked over and bowed to each of them individually, and then Samuel pulled me to sit on the sofa across from them.
“You must be Naomi,” Cleo said, her tone flat, her expression unreadable.
“It’s me, Mrs. Foster,” I replied, feeling a bit awkward.
At that moment, Samuel spoke up, “Mom, Dad, this is the gift Naomi picked out for you. She chose it with great care.”
I froze for a moment. This was the gift Samuel had prepared, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful. He was looking out for me.
Cleo’s expression stiffened slightly as she took the gift with a blank face.
“Mrs. Foster … “I nervously fidgeted with my fingers.
“Naomi, we’ve heard that you’re in the entertainment industry, right?”
“Yes, that’s right,” I answered, swallowing hard, glancing at Samuel, still feeling nervous.
“We’ve heard that your reputation online was, well, a bit complicated,” Cleo said, not continuing but making her point clear enough for me to understand.
“Mom, what are you saying?” Samuel said, sounding a bit anxious.
He had told me that he’d spoken to his parents about it in advance.
I hadn’t expected that the Alpha and Luna of the Meteor Pack would still say something like this to my face.
