I straightened up, remembering that Chloe’s father had saved my life.
So, when Ethan had adopted Chloe, I didn’t object.
In fact, I had treated Chloe like a sister. But over time, I had realized that Chloe was subtly taking my brothers
from me.

Noah shouted, “Alice, what are you saying? We’re doing this for your sake! It’s to help you get along with Chloe! Is it really that hard for you to manage this simple thing? How long are you going to sulk?”
“I’m not sulking.”
Hearing my second brother’s words made all the questions I had bottled up inside vanish into thin air. It felt pointless. I had tried to explain myself in a hysterical way before, but it never worked out. Now, I didn’t want to let
my emotions be swayed by my brothers like in my past life. I wouldn’t explain and wouldn’t care about their opinions.
I packed my textbooks from the coffee table into my backpack. Looking at my packed bag, I softly said, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll go to my room.”
Noah sat on the sofa, looking troubled.
“Alice, if you join the team now, we’ll overlook everything that happened before!”
When I heard this, I found it laughable. Everything I did in my past life was just a joke. Without looking back, I went upstairs, my steps particularly firm.
Noah, agitated, lit a cigarette. The housekeeper approached.”Mr. Welch, if Miss doesn’t want to join, it’s fine. At least Miss Black is there.”
Noah frowned.”It’s not the same.”
“Mr. Welch, I don’t know if I should say this. But Miss hasn’t asked about you at all since she came back. She seems so cold-hearted; it’s heartbreaking to watch!”
Noah snuffed out his cigarette and drove away from the villa.
I heard the sound of the car from upstairs, watching my second brother leave, probably heading to the training camp. After taking a shower alone, I reviewed my mistakes in my study materials. I needed to work hard to get out of here.
Somehow, I ended up staying up all night until dawn. In a hurry, I packed my bag and rushed downstairs, grabbing a sandwich from the dining room before running out.
Noah was the first one downstairs. He frowned when he saw me.”She’s up early?”
“Miss has been taking taxis to school instead of the driver’s car. It’s because Miss Black was late on Monday when discussing things with you, she’s been stubborn and hasn’t used the driver’s car since!”
Noah’s expression was complicated.

Caleb walked over.”Seriously? Just a little tardiness? So petty. Who is she trying to impress?”

Luke yawned. “Noah, Alice is just putting on a show for you to soften your heart. If you give in this time, she’ll only get worse in the future!”
Noah didn’t say anything more. He felt I should face some consequences; he had given me a chance, but I didn’t appreciate it.
Chloe overheard their conversation and smiled, bouncing down the stairs.”Good morning, Noah, Caleb, Luke! Let’s have breakfast together!”
Seeing Chloe’s lively demeanor, Noah’s mood lightened considerably. At least this sister hadn’t gone astray.
After arriving at school, I felt a bit drowsy, having pulled an all-nighter. But during class, I remained focused, afraid of missing any important points.
During class, the teacher suddenly called on Chloe to answer a question, but Chloe stammered and couldn’t come up with an answer. The teacher sighed, “Chloe, you’ve been distracted lately. You haven’t grasped the material and you’ll suffer on the exam.”
