It was late. The staff were finally asleep.

The villa was empty. I gently pushed open the door, glanced around, and made sure no one was there before I tiptoed out.
I’d timed this perfectly. There were still 20 minutes before the werewolf bodyguards changed shifts.
I ducked behind a tall palm tree near the edge of the property, pressing my back against the bark.
My frame was small enough that the trunk completely hid me.
I waited. When the time came, I watched as the guards started their shift change. I held my breath, stayed low, and sprinted toward the dock..
Just like I’d calculated, not one of them was watching the water.
I dashed across the dock and leaped onto the boat, then ducked down into the lower deck until I found the control room.
It took me a while. By the time I reached the helm, more than 20 minutes had passed since I’d snuck out. But I was prepared.
I’d spent the past few days secretly reading up on boat mechaniés, hiding manuals under my mattress, and studying every night. I knew enough to get this thing moving.
Given how quickly I pick things up, getting this boat moving wasn’t exactly rocket science.
It didn’t take long before I found the switch and fired up the engine.
But just then, I heard chaos erupt behind me–shouts from the house staff and werewolf bodyguards closing in fast.
“Mrs. Rosaline, where are you?”
Panic flared in my chest. I dove under the control console and yanked the chair in front of me to cover my body.
A moment later, the house staff and werewolf bodyguards poured onto the boat.
They started searching every corner of the control room. I didn’t dare move a muscle–just focused on keeping my scent completely buried.
The space I was hiding in was far too cramped. Curled up like that, every muscle ached, and a dull pain. began to build in my lower belly.
It wasn’t long before a few of the werewolf bodyguards got close. I could hear them sniffing the air, trying to catch my scent.
“Looks like Mrs. Rosaline has been here,” one of them muttered
My heart sank. I’d washed myself thoroughly before escaping and hadn’t used any perfume, but these werewolves‘ noses were freakishly sharp.
The werewolf guards continued to circle the control room, sniffing around like bloodhounds. It didn’t take

long before one of them approached the control panel.
“I found a hair,” he said, holding up a long strand from the seat.
The rest of them crowded over.
And in the next second, the chair shielding me was yanked away.
“Mrs. Rosaline.”
A house staff gasped, immediately reaching out to help me up.
I was overwhelmed with frustration, jerking away from her grip as hard as I could.
“Don’t touch me!” I snapped,

During the struggle, my knee slammed into the edge of a nearby table, and a sharp cramp shot through my abdomen.
Sweat broke out across my forehead as I clutched my stomach and collapsed to the floor.
The werewolf bodyguards and house staff all panicked, scrambling to lift me off the boat and rush me back
to the room.
Not long after, Richard showed up with a doctor right behind him.
While the doctor examined me, the house staff wiped the sweat pouring down my face with warm towels.
The diagnosis came quickly: the strain from all the movement had triggered uterine distress.
Richard’s face turned red with fury.
“Are you out of your mind? This is your child! How could you be so reckless?” he snapped, glaring down at
- me.
I looked up at the Alpha who had locked me away and let out a cold, bitter laugh. “So you do remember this is my child. Then, tell me, why are you treating me like this?”
Seeing my reaction, Grandpa softened his tone. “I’m doing this for your own good. You’re carrying the Eclipse Pack’s bloodline. You need to rest properly.”
“Don’t give me that crap. All this does is make me feel trapped–miserable.”
He let out a cold snort. “Rosie, I’m warning you to cooperate. If anything happens to the Eclipse Pack’s bloodline. I won’t forgive anyone.”
That threat wasn’t just for me. The room went quiet. A few staff started shaking.
Richard wasn’t just drawing a line. He was sending a warning to everyone.
I stared at him, no longer recognizing the man I once believed cared about me. Wasn’t he the one who had. always spoiled me the most?
But now, all he saw was the baby. Not me.
I lifted my chin and said stubbornly. “I don’t feel safe here. I’m not going to have this baby in this kind of

environment.”
“You-” His hands trembled with rage. He didn’t expect me to fight back.
“I want out,” I said flatly. “Or you can bury me and your precious heir together.”
His jaw clenched. He stared at me for a long, hard second.
Then he let out a long breath, stomped his foot, and turned away.

Before walking out the door, he said, “Rosie, you’re dealing with prenatal depression. That’s all this is. I’ll get you the best psychiatrist money can buy. But don’t even think about leaving. I’m not letting you go. Not while you’re carrying the Eclipse Pack’s bloodline.”
