Chapter 816 Disgusting Man
Honestly, I never would’ve believed that Dayne was the one secretly causing problems.
What shocked me even more was how much his build resembled Caden’s. They looked nearly the same from behind.
No matter how much I thought about it, I never would’ve guessed the truth would turn out like this.
“You should go home now. I’ll take care of things here,” I said.
Juliet turned and left, her footsteps slow and heavy.
I let out a quiet breath. Anyone in her shoes would’ve felt just as crushed.
I pulled out my phone, opened the blocked contacts, and searched for Dayne’s name.
It had been ages since I cut him off. I never imagined I’d have to talk to him again.
But now I had no choice. I unblocked his number and called him right away.
“Well, Ms. Sinclair, what made you suddenly think of me?” Dayne answered in his usual teasing voice.
I let out a quiet, resigned sigh. “Are you free?”
Dayne chuckled softly. “If you need me, I’ll be there.”
Feeling disgusted, I suddenly felt nausea rising in my throat as I fought to keep it down. Only then did I manage to suggest meeting him.
He said yes without even thinking.
I ended the call, took a few seconds to breathe, then grabbed my bag and left.
I stepped into the cafe Dayne had chosen, and I spotted him instantly. He’d shown up ahead of time.
He must’ve been eager.
Dayne raised a hand and even let out a low whistle to get my attention. It only made me dislike him more.
“You’re early,” he said, flashing a smug smile.
I didn’t bother with small talk. Crossing my arms, I gave him a cold stare. “Do you realize what you’ve done lately?”
Dayne looked at me, blinked once, and then started laughing. “Ah, so that’s what this is about.
“You already know?”
I blinked, caught off guard by how quickly he admitted it.
Dayne said, looking far too proud. “You’re sharp, Ms. Sinclair. Found me quicker than I thought. Yep, it was me. Gave you some trouble, didn’t it?”
My expression tightened, the air around us growing colder.

“Why would you do something like that?” I asked.

He gave a careless shrug. “Just for fun,” he said, then leaned forward, propping his chin on one hand, his gaze lazily drifting across my face. “But I’ve got to say that you’re still the most fun of all.”
I let out a cold laugh and said flatly, “Mr. Arriaga, I’d appreciate it if you’d stop looking at me like that.
“Upset, are you?” Dayne gave a lazy grin, completely unbothered. “Tsk, tsk. A pretty woman like you should smile more. Anger ruins charm, you know.”
He wasn’t concerned about how I felt. Not even a little. When he tried to brush his fingers against my cheek, I slapped his hand away without hesitation.
“Keep your distance,” I said coldly.
Honestly, if it weren’t for this situation, I would’ve blocked him forever.
“After what you’ve done, you can still sit here and talk to me like nothing happened. I could never be that shameless,” I said, my voice laced with sarcasm.
But Dayne didn’t even flinch at my words. “Come on, you already know what kind of person I am. No point putting on a nice–guy act for your sake.”
Then he smiled again, that smug kind of smile. “Still, a woman like you, smart and gorgeous, is hard to find. However, if women get too sharp, they catch on when their men’s fooling around. That spoils all the fun, doesn’t it?”
“Watch your mouth,” I snapped, my expression hardening.
“Oh, got a temper, huh?” he chuckled, then suddenly stood and strode over. Before I could react, he pulled me into a hug.
I froze, caught completely off guard. Before I could even push him away, he leaned in and planted a forceful kiss on my hair.
A chill shot down my spine. Without thinking, I swung my hand and slapped him hard across the face.
“You hit me?”
He stumbled back a step, then straightened, his eyes blazing with rage.
“Let me take over, Alpha,” Freya urged, her voice sharp with anticipation.
“No. I just needed to confirm it was him,” I replied firmly.
I held Freya back, flexed my fingers, and shot Dayne a cold stare. “Trash like you? I’ll slap whenever I please.”
My words sliced through the air, and for a moment, it caught him off guard, even through his anger.
I let a faint trace of my Alpha aura out, just enough to make my point clear. Then, I gathered my belongings and walked away without a second glance.
He didn’t have the courage to chase after me. Once I returned to the office, I quickly changed out of my clothes.

They were soaked in his smell. Just thinking about it made my stomach turn.
Without hesitation, I blocked Dayne’s number again.

Men like him disgust me, and I wanted nothing more than to crase every trace of that vile man from my life, forever.
What truly caught me off guard, though, was that Dayne, the heir to his pack, had the audacity to flirt with me so brazenly in public.
What game is he playing now?
