Chapter 812 Who Is the Victim?
I frowned. Why the hell were there so many reporters here?
I glanced at Opaline. Sure enough, her face had completely changed. The confidence from earlier was completely gone.
That’s when it hit me–I’d been played.
“Ms. Sinclair, can you tell us what you were discussing with Ms. Monte?” one reporter asked, shoving a mic at
- me.
My face darkened. I pulled my hand away from supporting Opalinc.
“Ms. Monte is pregnant. You brought her here–what if something happened? Could you take responsibility? Or maybe that was your plan all along?”
Their words left me baffled.
Unbelievable. They were twisting everything, turning a simple conversation into some elaborate conspiracy.
“Ms. Sinclair, why aren’t you answering? Feeling guilty?”
I stayed silent. This wasn’t the time to talk. It was obvious these reporters came prepared.
For all I knew, Opaline probably hired them herself.
“Sob, sob…”
Suddenly, Opaline covered her mouth and started sobbing.
The cameras all turned to her instantly.
“Don’t worry, Ms. Monte. We’re all here. We’ll make sure you get justice,” one reporter declared righteously.
My blood boiled.
What the hell were they even talking about?
When did I ever bully Opaline?
“Don’t blame anyone but me. I’m the fool who brought this baby into the world. I should’ve stayed hidden and raised the baby alone…” Opaline cried, clutching her pregnant belly as tears streamed down her face.
The reporters all started sympathizing, some even handing her tissues.
“It wasn’t a big deal at first,” she kept sobbing. “All I wanted was for the Eclipse Pack to give me and n some justice. But before Caden even said a word, Ms. Sinclair showed up, throwing her weight around guess I was just unlucky to end up in this mess.”
The moment she finished, every camera turned and zoomed in on my face.
“Ms. Rosaline, do you have anything to say to that?”
I frowned. “Nothing’s been confirmed yet. I wouldn’t drag a pregnant woman out here in the middle of the day for no reason.“.

Opaline immediately put on her pitiful act, looking at me with teary eyes. “Ms. Rosaline, you’re the future Luna of the Eclipse Pack. The most powerful family in Rivemon. Someone like me doesn’t even matter to you. In the end, it’s just me and my baby who suffer.”
She cradled her belly again, playing the victim like clockwork.
“Ms. Rosaline, we didn’t expect you to treat a pregnant woman one reporter accused.
like
this. Guess we were wrong about you!
I glared up at him. “None of you even know what’s true or false, yet you keep pointing fingers. Maybe figure out who’s actually at fault before you start throwing accusations.”
The reporter stared coldly, zooming his camera right in. “Pregnant or not, you shouldn’t be treating her like this.”
More reporters chimed in, attacking me from all sides. Then suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind.
“Even if Rosaline was out of line, it’s not your place to run
mouths.”
Everyone turned toward the voice. It was Connor, standing right in front of them.
I raised a brow. Why the hell was he showing up now?
Connor stepped up to the res, his
eyes sharp and cold. “Whatever happens with Rosaline isn’t for any
of you to judge. Move.”
The confidence in his voice made the reporters flinch. They instinctively backed off.
Questions flooded my mind.
Why was Connor standing up for me now?
After everything–our fights, the scandals, the business drama–what was he playing at?
If he started stirring things up again, the rumors, online about me and Caden would only get worse.
“What are you doing here?” I asked coldly.
“I saw you surrounded by reporters. Couldn’t just sit back and watch.” He grinned, but the usual teasing look was gone. Instead, his face looked calculating.
“I don’t need your help. I can handle this.”
When he reached out to grab my hand, I quickly pulled back.
But it was too late. The photographers had already captured us on camera.
Damn it. There was no way I could start snatching cameras from these reporters now.
I silently cursed myself for not discussing this meeting with Caden beforehand.
“See? Everyone’s already watching. You can either leave with me or stand here and keep getting grilled.”
Taking advantage of my hesitation, Connor grabbed my arm and led me through the crowd.
“I can walk on my own. Let go of me.”

I shook his hand off and walked away, frustrated.
Just like I feared.
Not long after, Twitter exploded with pictures of Connor pulling me by the hand.

Our old scandal was back on everyone’s feed. But this time, I was already married to Caden, so the gossip blew up even bigger.
And with Opaline’s drama still fresh, the public was eating it all up. Everyone wanted to see how this chaotic love triangle in Rivemon’s most powerful pack would end.
Then Opaline took it even further, dropping a video online.
It showed surveillance footage of her meeting a man at an ice cream shop that afternoon. The man’s back looked exactly like Caden’s.
