Chapter 795 Keep an Eye
I smirked quietly. The news traveled fast–no sooner had I clocked out than Grandpa had already caught wind of Jessica’s firing,
I stayed silent, letting him vent.
“The Alpha of the Stars Pack, Nicolas, came to see me today. I know you don’t like Jess, Caden, but firing her without a heads–up? The Stars Pack is an ally of ours! How do you expect me to face anyone in the werewolf business world now?”
Grandpa’s scolding pushed me over the edge, and I fired back, “If anyone should be ashamed, it’s them–not you.”
He hesitated, caught off guard. “What are you saying?”
“Grandpa,” I said firmly, “Jessica may be the Stars Pack’s heiress, but she’s got no dignity or shame. Even before she joined the company, she kept strutting into my office, showing off her body like the workplace is a strip club. If it weren’t for the Stars Pack’s name, firing her would be the least I could do.”
“Are you serious?” he asked, stunned.
“Absolutely,” I explained. “Today she barged into our company and spread stories about how she’s my wife and the future Luna of our pack. She threw the whole office into chaos, acting like nobody was working. Then, when no one was watching, she sneaked into my office, kissed me without permission, and took pictures with me just to make sure everyone saw what she did.”
Grandpa went quiet for a moment after hearing my words.
“She’s caused me more headaches than I can count. And for the sake of her own pride, she’s even willing to throw her own reputation under the bus. If Rosie ever finds out about this mess, it’s going to hit her hard,” I said.
He let out a long sigh; the weight of the situation finally sank in. “This whole ordeal is downright infuriating. I’m sorry–it’s on me, and I hate that you had to bear the brunt of it. Jessica pulled that kind of stunt, and her father has the gall to come demanding an explanation. Honestly, it’s madness.”
After a pause, his tone sharpened with resolve.
“Caden, as the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack, I’m with you on this. She needs to be purged from the company, or it’ll be done for.”
“Thanks, Grandpa,” I said, relief washing over me now that the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack was firmly in my
corner.
Richard’s POV:
Once the call ended, my mind churned with a flood of thoughts.
I never imagined Jessica–such a seemingly sweet and innocent girl–could act like this.
I glanced up and called over my butler, instructing him to reach out to Nicolas, the Alpha of the Stars Pack. and set up a meeting at a coffee shop near the Eclipse Pack’s old mansion.
Nicolas agreed quickly, and an hour later, we met at the café.
“Mr. Holbrook, Nicolas greeted, extending his hand.
I accepted it with a steady grip, keeping my face unreadable.
“May I know what sort of mistake my daughter made?” he said, his voice tinged with disbelief. “She was fired after just a few days at your heir’s company. I didn’t expect your pack to throw away the respect between our packs like this.”
I frowned, sensing his attempt to pin the blame on us before I had even spoken.
“Are you telling me you have no idea what your daughter did, Mr. Sullivan?” I asked pointedly.
Nicolas laughed loudly. “Jessica’s my only child. She’s spoiled rotten and has a terrible temper. That’s why I never wanted her to work outside before. If it weren’t for our alliance and my hope that you’d tolerate her antics, I wouldn’t have sent her here to suffer.”
Marvelous. He showed the true colors of his pack to me right away.
Nicolas actually thought he was doing us a favor by letting his daughter work for one of our companies- and that we should just swallow all her misdeeds?
It was absurd.
If Jessica were left unchecked, she would run every single company the pack had to the ground.
“That was an… incredible attempt at a joke, Alpha. I award you full marks,” I said coldly. “Everyone has to work. If your daughter can’t handle the real world, she’s never going to learn how to handle her own life.”
“She doesn’t have to. My pack will back her up,” Nicolas said flatly, refusing to budge. “She doesn’t need your help either, Mr. Holbrook.”
“Yet another perfect attempt at a joke.” I shook my head, disbelief plain on my face. “You’re blaming my pack for the disgrace your daughter brought on herself? I can’t believe the Werewolf Continent produces Alphas like you.”
Nicolas fixed me with a hard stare. “What exactly do you mean by that, Mr. Holbrook?”
“I see you’re still in the dark.” I let out a dry chuckle. “Well, no matter. I’ll fill you in.”
I reached for the phone from my butler and flipped on the video. “Here’s your daughter at work. She spends her days gossiping with coworkers, spreading rumors that she’s my grandson’s wife–the future Luna of our Eclipse Pack–and constantly harasses him. Tell me, did you raise your daughter to be a liar?”
