Chapter 786 Cross–Examination
Evelyn’s POV:
I woke
up early to find a court summons on my phone.
Frowning, I saw the plaintiff’s name written clearly, “Rosaline Sinclair.”
She took me to court!
I couldn’t believe she’d go this far.
15
Fine. If that’s how she wants to play it, I won’t back down either. I took a screenshot of the summons and opened Twitter.
“Never thought a sisterly bond would turn into such a mess. Figures–any friendship I take seriously ends badly.”
I attached the photo of the summons and added a few crying emojis.
The tweet went live.
I wanted to play the victim, hoping to get some sympathy. But the replies were mostly insults.
“Didn’t Rosaline just win an international award? She even served as a judge. Honestly, being her peer was already a favor to you.”
“You really think we can’t see through your tweet? Please.”
I was furious. How could these people take that Omega bitch’s side?
The court date was set for tomorrow.
I immediately called my lawyer. If Rosaline wanted a fight, she’d get one.
As the heiress of the Brightfang Pack, I had power and connections. She was all reputation and no real strength. Did she think she could bring me down with a lawsuit?
Keep dreaming!
The next day, I got ready carefully, even brushing some red eyeshadow around my eyes to look like I’d been crying.
With my lawyer, I arrived at the courthouse. Rosaline and her lawyer were already there, waiting.
I sat down in the defendant’s seat. The judge called the hearing to order.
First up,
the plaintiff’s complaint.
“According to our investigation, Ms. Hudson has been spreading false rumors about Ms. Sinclair online and hired a group of paid trolls to post abusive comments under her tweets. This has severely impacted Ms. Sinclair’s daily life and her right to reputation.”
As Rosaline’s lawyer spoke, a video played on the screen–footage of me using a fake account to attack her under her tweets.

I clenched my teeth. I didn’t expect Rosaline to keep a trick like this up her sleevel
My lawyer immediately stood up and objected. “Just based on a silhouette, you’re claiming the person in the video is Ms. Hudson? That’s absurd. Ms. Sinclair gets harassed on Twitter all the time–surely she’s used to t by now. Why bring it up only now?”
Rosaline’s lawyer glanced at the documents in his hands and fired back, “Do I really need to take Ms. Hudson’s photo to the dessert shop and verify with every staff member? The silhouette is clear enough. What more explanation do you need?”
My lawyer stayed calm. “Bringing a video of someone’s back to court without any proper verification … I don’t think that qualifies as admissible evidence.”
Rosaline’s face darkened. I couldn’t help but feel pleased–she clearly didn’t expect my lawyer to come out swinging like this.
Knowing he lost ground, Rosaline’s lawyer didn’t push further and brought up new evidence.
“This isn’t just about online harassment. Ms. Hudson also reached out to Ms. Rowan’s friend and tried to bribe her. Isn’t that a serious offense?”
He then played my conversation with Yvette.
The entire courtroom heard me say, “Everyone hates Rosaline.” The room buzzed with murmurs.
I raised an eyebrow. So Yvette secretly recorded that day? No wonder she wore earbuds. I really dropped the ball there.
“That was just a random comment in a casual conversation. And you’re seriously playing it in court?” My lawyer raised his hand. “Your Honor, we believe this evidence is insufficient.”
The judge paused, then nodded. “Agreed.”
Rosaline frowned, clearly frustrated. She was losing ground fast.
I looked at her smugly, watching her so–called evidence fall apart one by one. Let’s see what she’s got left.
“I have evidence!”
Suddenly, Elliot stepped out from the witness bench.
I blinked. As far as I knew, he and Yvette didn’t get along. What was he doing?
Even Rosaline looked nervous, her eyes locked on him.
Elliot held up a hospital report, storming toward Rosaline. “This is from the hospital, just issued. That day when Evelyn took you out for dessert–remember the cake? I had it tested. It contained a large am contraceptive drugs. Overdosing on them could lead to permanent infertility!”
Gasps filled the courtroom. I froze, then pointed at Elliot, furious. “You’re making this up!”
I had drugged Rosaline. But I never expected Elliot to pull out a report like this. Total miscalculation.
Rosaline stared at the test results, her face going pale. She shot me a glare full of hatred. “Why would you do
this to me?”

Chapter 786 Cross–Examination
Panic flooded my chest. I clenched my teeth and denied everything.
Quietly, I grabbed my lawyer’s arm for support. But he stepped back and whispered, “You drugged her. I can’t help you with this.”
A wave of despair crushed me.
Rosaline submitted the hospital report to the judge. He examined it closely, then nodded. “This is officially issued by the hospital.”
Then Elliot presented surveillance showing me entering the kitchen that day.
I had nothing left to say. Despair engulfed me completely.
Everything went dark. I collapsed right there in court.
