Chapter 780 The Battle for Resources
‘Get everyone together. Emergency meeting in 15 minutes.” I told my Beta, Yale. After hearing my order, he immediately strode straight into the Eclipse Group building.
At the conference table, as Yale explained the situation in detail, the entire executive team fell silent
Eclipse Group was one of the most powerful packs on the Werewolf Continent, and this kind of blindside had never happened before. Jack’s sudden rise was turning into a serious threat.
“This company won’t be pushed around,” I said firmly. “We need to act fast–put together a new strategy. We’re going to hit Jack’s team hard and clean them out.”
“Mr. Holbrook.” One senior manager spoke up cautiously. “The problem is … Jack’s company stock has been climbing rapidly the past few days. At this rate, they might even surpass us.”
“This is exactly why we have to be more cautious,” I shot back. “Starting now, all client information on lockdown. If I find out someone’s been leaking intel from inside the company, I won’t hold back.”
The warning in my voice made the whole room go dead quiet. No one dared to speak.
Jack’s aggressive tactics meant he had something solid backing him. Whether we could really “clean them out” remained to be seen.
“Everyone take tonight to draft your proposals. I want a new plan ready for tomorrow’s meeting,” Yale said, catching on to what I was thinking.
After the meeting dispersed, I returned to my office, only to discover that our company website was under heavy attack.
Thankfully, Eclipse Group’s firewall was built by the best cyber–specialists in the territory. Breaking through wouldn’t be easy.
Still, the intensity of the attack left no doubt–it was Jack.
“It’s confirmed. It’s Jack’s team,” Yale reported.
Fury surged in my chest. Now he wasattackingmysystems?
“Keep the defenses up. If they try again, we hit back harder.”
Our team of werewolf programmers nodded and got to work immediately.
Sure enough, after a wave of attacks, the other side vanished from the website, leaving no trace.
Classic move. A blatant provocation,
I sent out orders to trace the breach and track every detail. Within hours, our own cyber division launche full counterattack.
We broke into Jack’s digital infrastructure and occupied several key segments of his network. Jack’s team quickly responded, scrambling to contain the breach and minimize damage.
“Don’t give him room to breathe,” I ordered, voice sharp. “Push harder.”
Our programmers surged forward, flooding Jack’s systems with calculated precision. I didn’t start this fight

but I wasn’t about to lose it.
Jack held nothing back either, going head–to–head with us. Our tug–of–war over clients and resources turned
into a full–on tech war.
The fallout spread across Rivemon’s entire corporate landscape. Businesses from other packs started pulling back, terrified of getting caught in the crossfire.
A week passed, there was still no clear winner. I sat in my office, brows furrowed, deep in thought.
Then came a knock on the door.
I assumed it was Beta Yale with updates. But when I looked up, I saw Jessica.
My frown deepened. She wore a pale yellow dress with a dainty flower crown on her head–clearly imitating Rosaline’s style.
I was already in a foul mood. Now this. “What are you doing here?” I asked coolly. The last time she carrie to my office, I’d already put my guard up.
“I heard things at the company weren’t going well, so I came to check on
you.”
“What exactly do you expect to do?” I said flatly.
Jack’s attacks were sophisticated–our top experts were struggling. Jessica? She was barely more than a socialite.
“I… I know I can’t help,” she murmured, no longer the sultry, confident woman from last time.
Now she looked like she’d stepped out of a tragedy novel–all sad eyes and trembling lips. Anyone else might’ve softened. But I wasn’t just anyone. And I hadn’t looked her in the eye once since she entered.
“I’m sorry about what happened last time,” she said softly, batting her lashes. “Are you still mad at me?”
“I’m not mad,” I said calmly. “I just don’t care.”
The only woman I cared about was Rosaline. No one else mattered.
“Oh… That’s good,” Jessica said, her voice growing even softer.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now.”
She stayed standing there like a statue. Her presence made the air feel heavy. I didn’t want to deal with it. So I stood and walked straight out of the office.
Jessica hurried after me. “You said you’re not mad–then why are you avoiding me?”
“I’m not avoiding you,” I replied coldly. “I just don’t want to be around you.”
“Why?” Her voice cracked. “I’m the heiress of Stars Pack–your grandfather always adored me. Why can’t I be the one beside you?”
She blinked hard, forcing a few tears down her cheeks, her eyes red and watery–an image designed to draw sympathy.
