Chapter 767 Invest
Caden also noticed Connor. He grabbed my hand and signaled me to stay quiet.
I nodded. Once Connor walked past, we got up and followed him.
We both knew what kind of person he was. Showing up here at this time? Very suspicious.
Especially with a young female werewolf by his side–it was totally out of line.
We trailed behind and watched from a distance. The girl wore a pale blue dress, her long black hair like silk falling over her shoulders. From afar, she was quite the beauty.
But we couldn’t see her face clearly. Connor walked into a café with her. Naturally, we followed.
Caden chose a seat behind him. The girl sat facing Connor, which gave us a full view of her face.
As soon as he got a clear look, Caden recognized her.
“It’s Jessica.”
“Jessica?” I was surprised. “Why would the two of them be together?”
Just then, Jessica noticed us too.
After all, Caden’s gaze had been fixed on her. Plus, with that face of his, it was hard not to draw attention.
When Jessica looked over, Connor followed her gaze and spotted us as well.
I gave an awkward smile. Didn’t expect to get caught.
“What a coincidence. You two are here too,” Connor greeted Caden like nothing happened, hand raised casually.
“Yeah, I didn’t expect to see you here,” Caden said coldly, lifting his brows slightly.
Connor let out a cold laugh, then went back to chatting with Jessica, completely ignoring us.
Caden and I exchanged a look, then got up and left.
On the way back to the office, we were both curious. What was Connor doing with Jessica, the heiress of the Stars Pack?
Were they dating?
Didn’t seem like it.
After parting ways with Caden, I returned to the company. Just as I reached my office door, my secretary came rushing over.
“What is it?” I asked.
She looked flustered–definitely not good news.
“Rosie, Luna of the Whirlwind Pack is here …” she whispered in my ear.

I frowned. Luna of the Whirlwind Pack? Must be Juliet’s mother,
Makes sense. Juliet’s background wasn’t bad. Her mother showing up wasn’t that surprising.
But the Whirlwind Pack was known for their aggressive ways. That probably explained the secretary anxiety.
“Don’t worry. I’ll go take a look,” I said, patting her shoulder before walking in.
Sure enough, Mrs. Lafferty’s stern face met me as soon as I stepped inside.
“Hi, Mrs. Lafferty.” I greeted her politely, as usual. But slie remained cold, gave me a slight nod, and sat down across from my desk.
With no other choice, I walked over and sat in my chair.
“Are you Juliet’s boss?” she asked. When I nodded, she immediately pulled out a thick stack of cash. “This is for taking care of Juliet.”
I glanced at it. Judging by the thickness, there had to be tens of thousands in there. I shook my head. “No need, Mrs. Lafferty. Taking care of employees is the company’s responsibility.”
“I’m actually here for something else.” Seeing I wasn’t accepting the money, she didn’t insist. She simply placed the stack on the table, her gaze sharp. “I want to invest in Starplay.”
“Invest?” I raised an eyebrow.
This was the first time I’d ever met the Luna of the Whirlwind Pack, and she was already making such a request.
“Yes,” she continued, not caring what I thought. “I just want to pave the way for Juliet. She’s our only daughter. Since she’s chosen this path, we’ll give her the best we can.”
“Matters related to Juliet are handled by the company. You don’t need to worry, Mrs. Lafferty.” My tone turned firm. I wasn’t thrilled, but I didn’t reject her outright.
“I’m only doing this for my daughter. I came prepared today.”
I stayed quiet.
After all, this involved Juliet. I needed to hear her opinion first.
“Let’s do this. I’ll go ask Juliet what she thinks. Please wait here for a moment.” I stood up, ignoring her
calling after me as I walked out of the office.
This kind of request–wanting to invest in the company just because of one employee? Unheard of.
I was irritated but forced myself to stay calm. I headed to the studio and found Juliet.
She quickly asked the photographer to pause the shoot, then walked over to me.
“Your mom came to see me,” I said bluntly. After all, Mrs. Lafferty was still waiting in my office.
Juliet nodded. “What did she want?“.
“She said she wants to invest in the company–to pave the way for you. What do you think?” I asked straight.
