Chapter 761 Public Apology
Rosaline’s POV:
Finished
I had just coaxed Yvette to sleep and was about to deal with Eleanor when Mr. Richard called.
“Rosie, I just interrogated those two traitors. They said the butler was bribed by that woman, so they got confused and went to leak information,” Mr. Richard said apologetically.
But I wasn’t in the mood to hear his explanation. Eleanor had to face the consequences for hurting Yvette.
“I’ve already dismissed the butler and started an investigation. Those two maids were dealt with too,” Mr. Richard said, then went quiet.
He was clearly trying to tell me to let it go, to not pursue it further.
After all, Eleanor was the daughter–in–law of the Eclipse Pack and Caden’s biological mother. Punishing Eleanor too harshly was not an option.
“Those butlers, like Laura, had been with Caden’s mom for over a decade. Leaving like this… they brought it on themselves,” Mr. Richard sighed, making me frown.
“Mr. Richard, I know what you mean,” I said after thinking for a moment.
“Rosie, I know you’re a good kid. But she’s still Caden’s mom…
”
He tried to go on, but I cut him off. “Mr. Richard, this can’t just be brushed aside. No matter who it is, if they break the law, they must be punished. As the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack, I’m sure you understand that.”
“I know, but she did give birth to Caden and raise him. That counts for something, doesn’t it?” He tried again.
“Mr. Richard, please don’t say anything more. My employee is still lying in a hospital bed. Not pressing charges is already the most mercy I can offer her,” I said firmly.
Seeing how determined I was, Mr. Richard sighed and didn’t say anything more
Meanwhile, online, the news about Eleanor had exploded.
Because of her connection to the Eclipse Pack, everyone in Riveron was waiting to see her fall.
Many online were criticizing her, saying that as the mother of the pack’s heir, she should’ve been more careful with her actions. Instead, she used her status to bully others.
Soon, hate for her filled the trending topics. Her gentle image was completely shattered.
But because she belonged to the Eclipse Pack, the most powerful group in the Werewolf Continent, no one dared to target the pack itself or Caden. They only attacked her personally.
If it had been any other pack, the media would’ve dug up all kinds of dirt. But now, all they dared to say was that she abused her power.
This was exactly what I expected. So I didn’t intervene, just let the public opinion snowball and make her face the consequences she deserved.
What I didn’t expect was that a few days later, Mr. Richard brought Eleanor to the hospital. At the time.
Finished
Caden was there with me, taking care of Yvette.
“Rosie,” Mr. Richard greeted warmly as he entered the room. “How’s your employee? Is she doing any better?”
As he spoke, he glanced over at Eleanor.
Eleanor looked completely unwilling and turned her face away.
“Thanks to you, she’s not doing well,” I said coldly.
Eleanor wanted to snap back, but Mr. Richard and Caden kept staring at her, so she had to hold it in.
“What are you standing there for? Come here!” Mr. Richard’s face darkened as he scolded her. “Go apologize.”
Eleanor’s eyes widened. “Apologize to her?”
I glanced at Caden, a bit surprised.
I didn’t expect Mr. Richard to be so willing to make a noblewoman like Eleanor apologize to my junior employee.
“Go on.”
Under Mr. Richard’s urging and Caden’s gaze, Eleanor reluctantly walked into the hospital room.
I followed behind coldly, curious to see how the mother of the Eclipse Pack’s heir would apologize to Yvette.
Yvette had just woken up. When she saw Eleanor, she screamed and hid under the blanket.
“I’m sorry,” Eleanor said, lowering her head while Yvette buried her face.
Yvette peeked out, surprised. She didn’t expect Eleanor to apologize.
Eleanor still looked unwilling. After saying those words, she left the room without waiting for a reply.
Yvette stared blankly at me. I gave her a small smile.
“What else did I tell you on the way?” Mr. Richard said sternly when Eleanor came out.
“I know…” Eleanor dragged out her words, full of resentment.
After a while, my phone buzzed. It was a tweet from Eleanor.
“I hereby apologize to Ms. Yvette Rowan, @YvetteRowan.”
I didn’t expect her to make a public apology on Twitter. That surprised me even more.
I glanced at Caden and pursed my lips.
Since Eleanor went this far, I really couldn’t keep pushing it.
Later, just as Mr. Richard said, he sent Eleanor abroad.
Finally, things around Caden and me settled down completely,
