Rosaline’s POV:
“Juliet, now that you’re back… are you planning to leave again?” I asked gently.

Juliet was the heiress of the Whirlwind Pack and one of my closest friends. Now that she had returned, I genuinely hoped she would stay. That way, I could look out for her too..
“I’m not going anywhere. I’m done running,” she said with a soft smile, though her eyes shimmered with unshed tears. “Once I help you through this, I’m planning to leave the industry for good.”
“I’m here for you–whatever it is, you’re not alone. But what happened?” I asked, concerned.
Juliet had been holding it together, but my words seemed to tip her over the edge. Tears finally slid down her cheeks. I quickly handed her a tissue and gently wiped them away before clasping her hand to offer some comfort.
“You know why I went overseas,” she said, her voice trembling. “Everyone thought it was for career growth, but in truth… I left to chase Dayne. We were classmates for four years. I thought he must’ve felt something for me, even just a little. I’m the daughter of the Whirlwind Pack, and I’ve always carried myself with dignity. But that night, at a grand, over–the–top banquet, he accused me of seducing him. In front of everyone. I hadn’t even done anything, and he tried to have me dragged out of the venue.”
Juliet choked on the words, then let out a bitter laugh. “He underestimated me. I turned the whole thing on its head right then and there. I just regret not seeing through him sooner. I’m sorry, Rosaline–I probably look pathetic right now.” But as soon as she finished speaking, it was like a weight had lifted off her. Her eyes regained their shine, and she seemed to breathe easier.
I couldn’t help but smile. I knew her too well–there was no way she’d let something like that break her.
Juliet’s boldness and pride truly reflected the spirit of her father, Thomas Lafferty, the Alpha of Whirlwind Pack.
“Once you’re back home, get some rest. And as for that retirement talk–pretend I never heard it,” I said, steadying her as we walked outside.
“I’m not joking,” she said with a chuckle. “I mean it. I’ve already won every major award there is. Maybe it’s time to step away, move somewhere peaceful outside the city, and just live a quiet life. That doesn’t sound so bad, does it?”
I didn’t reply–just helped her into the car and watched her leave.
Two days later.
“You’ve been looking better these past few days. There’s a variety show shooting soon–I think it’s a perfect. fit for you,” I told Yvette, handing her a document. “Go for it. I’ll be backstage the whole time to support you. It’ll be good for your exposure, too.”
“Got it, Rosaline. Don’t worry–I won’t let my issues get in the way of work. What I went through … It’s made me stronger. I’m not as fragile as I used to be. But I don’t think I’ll be trusting love so easily again.” Yvette smiled as she spoke, her voice calm and composed.
She’d been through a lot, but it had changed her. There was a new steadiness in her now- Whether that change was for better or worse, I wasn’t quite sure yet.

Chapter 758 A Complete Farce
Just then, a commotion broke out outside. I looked up to see Eleanor storming in, her presence fierce and commanding. Behind her was our company’s receptionist, clutching her cheek with a wronged expression and tears brimming in her eyes–clearly, Eleanor had slapped her.
Yvette stood up, intending to intervene, but Eleanor shoved her aside with so much force that Yvette’s head hit the doorframe. She collapsed to the floor, unconscious.
I was shocked and immediately called for someone to take Yvette to the hospital.
“Ms. Sinclair barged in and hit me!” the receptionist cried, tears spilling down her face.
My expression darkened. It was obvious Eleanor wasn’t here for a friendly visit. Without wasting time, I pulled out my phone and texted my assistant, instructing them to pull the security footage showing Eleanor’s assault. Only then did I lead Eleanor into the waiting lounge.
“So you finally have the guts to face me,” Eleanor snapped, her eyes blazing as she glared at me.
“Mrs. Holbrook, what exactly are you trying to prove by causing a scene like this?” I said calmly. “A major figure like yourself showing up unannounced at a small company like Starplay Entertainment–what are you trying to do? If you don’t want to be charged with trespassing and assault, I suggest you watch yourself.”
There was no mistaking the message behind my words–I was telling her to leave, with a warning attached. Her arrogance faltered slightly.
“Spare me the polite nonsense,” she shot back. “I’m telling you right now–I’m not leaving today. What are you going to do about it?” Eleanor’s voice grew sharp with rage. “And don’t bother lying–I already know. Just tell me, did Caden’s PR team and his emergency funds end up in your hands? You do take whatever you want, don’t you?”
I frowned slightly, surprised by what she said.
But my expression remained unreadable. It was obvious to me now that Eleanor was being used by someone else. And as much as I could put her in her place myself, sometimes it was better to let others do the work for you. If my timing is right, Caden should be arriving any minute now.
“And what exactly does any of that have to do with you?” I looked her in the eye as I spoke.
“What?” Eleanor’s voice cracked as she lost her temper again. She jabbed a finger in my direction and shouted, “Do you have any idea how important that team is? And you convinced Caden to hand them over to you? It’s your shameless behavior that’s dragging Eclipse Group down!”
“You seem confident that the information you received is accurate,” I replied with a hint of mockery in my
tone.
But Eleanor, too caught up in her rant, completely missed the implication.
