Chapter 501 A Public Confession
Heidi’s POV:
“What? It’s fake?!” I stared at Rosaline in utter disbelief.

I had taken those files with my own hands, sneaking them out of Caden’s study. How could they be fake?
Could it be that Caden had known all along that I would try to steal the project plans? Had he deliberately set me up? This was so horrifying!
“That’s right. It’s fake.” Caden’s sexy thin lips curved slightly, just enough to be maddeningly smug. He lifted a hand and pointed toward the stage, where Everett was hiding behind two burly werewolves. “Did you think having Heidi steal our Azure Haven project plans would work? Did you really believe your little schemes would be enough to sabotage us?”
Everett’s POV:
The moment Caden’s icy gaze landed on me, a sense of foreboding gripped my chest.
Could it be…
Before I could fully process my thoughts, his voice rang out again, crisp and merciless, “The contents of that plan were fabricated. Meaning, all those high–priced raw materials you rushed to buy are completely worthless.”
As soon as Caden said this, chaos erupted. Reporters swarmed toward me like a pack of vultures, their voices blending into a barrage of sharp, relentless questions.
“Mr. Lloyd, what’s your response to what Mr. Holbrook just revealed?”
“Was Heidi a pawn you planted by Mr. Holbrook’s side?”
“Did you secretly orchestrate the theft of Eclipse Pack’s trade secrets? Now that Heidi’s cover has been blown and BPL has suffered a major hit, how do you feel about the situation, Mr. Lloyd?”
Fuck, did you still ask me how I feel at the moment?
My mood was downright foul.
“Get lost!” I snapped, shooting a glare at the press. I clenched my fists, nails digging into my palms. I had fallen for it.
Caden and Rosaline had seen through my plans from the very beginning. They played their roles flawlessly, staging countless arguments in front of Heidi and the press, making the world believe they had turned against each other.
However, they had orchestrated everything behind the scenes. While Caden put on the perfect act, faking an engagement with Heidi to keep both of us off guard, they had been secretly gathering evidence. And today, on this very engagement day, they delivered their final, crushing blow.
This time, I had underestimated them. Not only had I sacrificed Heidi, but my company had taken a
massive hit.

“Take Heidi to the police. Charge her with corporate espionage.” Caden’s voice was cold, devoid of emotion, as he glanced down at Heidi who now crumpled on the floor.
“No, please!” Heidi’s face drained of all color. Her whole body trembled. “Caden, I beg you! Please, let me go! It was all Everett! He forced me to do it! It wasn’t my fault!”
Unfortunately, Caden didn’t spare her even a flicker of emotion.
Two werewolf bodyguards came forward, grabbing Heidi as she screamed and struggled.
Watching her wail and sob as she was hauled away, I felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction.
All of our hard work and planning over the past few days had finally paid off. Right here, in front of everyone, we had exposed Heidi for what she truly was–a deceitful person pretending to be innocent. At the same time, Everett had been backed into a corner, and BPL had suffered a devastating blow.
Yet, even though Heidi wasn’t the real Tessa, then where was the real one? What if one day, the real Tessa appeared? Would Caden waver?
The thought was so brief, so fleeting, yet it left a strange ripple in my heart. The excitement I had felt just moments ago instantly wavered.
“What are you thinking about?” Caden’s deep voice pulled me back. He had stepped closer, his tall frame casting a shadow over me. His warm breath brushed against my ear as he asked me with a low voice.
I blinked, shaking off my thoughts. “Nothing.”
“Are you sure everything is okay?” His brows furrowed slightly, his gaze filled with quiet concern.
I met his eyes and gave a soft and genuine smile. At this moment, I could feel his unwavering love wrapping. around me like an invisible embrace.
Even if one day the real Tessa did return, I was certain that Caden’s heart would never belong to anyone else.
Today’s engagement banquet, once meant to be a grand affair, had unraveled into a public humiliation for Heidi and Everett. Yet, amid of the chaos, one thing stood out, Caden and I, standing side by side, untouchable. Sensing our intimate exchange, the reporters wasted no time swarming in.
“Mr. Holbrook, is today’s engagement banquet planned by you two from the very beginning?”
“Ms. Sinclair, those public arguments between you and Mr. Holbrook before, were they all just an act?”
“Mr. Holbrook, does this mean you never loved Heidi, and you never intended to marry her?”
“That’s right.” Caden nodded faintly; his gaze darkened as he looked directly at me. “From beginning to end, I only love one woman, and that woman is Rosaline. My fiancée will only ever be her.” His deep, magnetic voice echoed through the hall, sending a sudden heat rushing to my cheeks.

I shot a venomous glare at Rosaline standing on the stage, an uncontrollable surge of jealousy twisting inside me.
For so long. I had assumed Caden would be getting engaged to Heidi–but in the end, it was Rosaline.
I refused to accept it.
How could an Omega like her be chosen instead of me?
A primal rage boiled within me, and I wished I could shift into my wolf form that very moment, leap onto the stage, and rip Rosaline apart until there was nothing left of her.
Caden was mine—the most exceptional heir in the entire Werewolf Continent—and no one had the right to take him from me!
“Aunt Eleanor, just look at Caden–he’s completely under Rosaline’s spell, that cunning vixen.” I cast a sideways glance at Aunt Eleanor, unable to resist stirring the pot. “If his fiancée had been Heidi, a mere bar singer, getting rid of her would have been effortless.
“But Rosaline is an entirely different threat. That Omega isn’t just shrewd and ruthless–she’s also the powerhouse behind Starplay Entertainment. After everything we’ve put her through, if she actually ends up marrying Caden, don’t you think we’ll be in serious trouble?”
After hearing what I said, Aunt Eleanor’s face darkened, her eyes burning with hatred as she shot a venomous glare at Rosaline standing on the stage. She turned to me and declared, “Queenie, don’t worry. I will never allow that Omega, Rosaline, to become my son’s wife.”
“But even Mr. Richard is supporting her,” I replied, anxiety gnawing at me.
After everything that happened today, it’s obvious that the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack was already aware of what Caden and Rosaline had planned.
Otherwise, why would the Alpha approve Caden and Heidi’s engagement when he clearly has feelings for Rosaline?
“That’s not something you need to concern yourself with,” Aunt Eleanor said through clenched teeth. “I have my own methods.”
At that moment, a thought struck me–back when Caden had imprisoned us, Aunt Eleanor had made a single phone call, and just like that, Mr. Richard had commanded Caden to set us free.
That could only mean Aunt Eleanor had some kind of hold over the Alpha.
And whatever it was, it had to be something significant.
I had overheard bits and pieces before–something about Caden’s father’s death.
Curiosity gnawed at me. What exactly had happened back then?

It looked like I needed to find the right moment to question Aunt Eleanor about what truly happened back then.
Rosaline’s POV:
“That’s all for today,” Caden announced in a low, firm tone. “Rosaline and I will be engaged next month. The exact date will be revealed later.”
With that, he took my hand and guided me off the stage without another word.
As our fingers laced together, his warmth seeped into my skin, sending a comforting heat through my chest.
When we reached the hotel parking lot, Caden gracefully opened the car door for me and murmured in a gentle voice, “Get in.”
“Thanks,” I said as I settled into the passenger seat, leaning back against the cushion with a quiet sigh.
Tonight had been a whirlwind, and exhaustion was finally catching up to me. All I wanted now was to head back and get some rest.
“Can you take me home?” I asked, glancing over at Caden.
He let out a low chuckle. “Where else would I take you? Your things have already been moved to New Moon City.”
“What?” I snapped, my eyes narrowing as I shot him a sharp glare. “Who said you could move my stuff without asking me first?”
Caden had a habit of doing things his way and explaining afterward–if he even bothered to explain at all.
“You’re my wife,” he stated matter–of–factly as if it were the most natural thing in the world. “Of course, you should live with me.”
I was dumbfounded.
Caden drove me back to New Moon City, and the moment we stepped inside, Willa greeted me with a bright smile. “Ms. Sinclair is back!”
“Willa.” I returned her warmth with a gentle smile.
She had always treated me kindly, like family.
When I entered my room, I wasn’t surprised to find that Caden had, as expected, already moved all my belongings back.
I had moved out before to make Heidi believe Caden and I had drifted apart.
Now that everything had been settled, his eagerness to have me back filled me with warmth.
After tidying up quickly, I headed to the bathroom for a shower, hoping to turn in early for the night.

Of course, I couldn’t use my full strength, or I’d risk revealing my Alpha identity.
Still, deep down, there was something I actually wanted to tell him.
Lost in thought, I was caught off guard when Caden suddenly pulled me into his arms.
He was dressed in a white robe, the top two buttons undone, revealing a firm chest that I accidentally bumped my forehead against. The solid warmth sent a jolt through me.
“Hmm?” I let out a soft laugh and tried to push him away so I could stand up.
But just as I moved, a sharp tug at my scalp made me wince.
My hair had gotten tangled in the buttons of his robe.
I couldn’t believe my luck….
With a sigh. I admitted defeat. Can you help me? My hair’s stuck in your button.”
Caden let out a low chuckle. “Do it yourself.
I stared at him, speechless
Seriously? He was doing this on purpose. Just do it myself?
I deliberately trailed my fingertips across Caden’s chest, my touch featherlight.
His breathing hitched instantly, turning heavier.
“Don’t move” he ordered, grabbing my wrists to keep me still.
Before I could react, he flipped me beneath him in one swift motion, his eyes dark with warning. “Daring to play with fire–do you have any idea what that leads to, hmmm?

Had I known this would happen, I wouldn’t have touched him so recklessly just now.
The room felt hotter than ever…
“Moon Goddess, it’s my Alpha, I want to mate with him.” Freya was excited.
I felt myself sinking into Caden’s passionate kiss, but my phone rang suddenly.
“I–I need to get that,” I gasped between breaths.
Caden frowned in displeasure. “Ignore it.”
“It could be something important.” I pushed against him, struggling free.
Glancing at my phone, I saw Jasper’s name flashing on the screen.
The moment Caden caught sight of the name, his expression darkened instantly. “What does Jasper want with you?” His voice was laced with jealousy.
Seeing his reaction, I immediately knew that he was jealous again. What a petty man.
I rolled my eyes at him. “How would I know?”
Then, I answered the call. “Jasper? What’s up?”
However, the voice on the other end wasn’t his–it was his assistant’s, sounding frantic. “Ms. Sinclair, Mr. Sullivan had an accident!”
“What?” My heart skipped a beat. “What happened to him? Is he okay?”
I had just seen Jasper earlier at Caden’s engagement party, and he was perfectly fine. How could something have happened so suddenly?
The assistant quickly explained, “After returning tonight, Mr. Sullivan insisted on going back to the set to catch up on filming. But he pushed himself too hard during a scene, and his wound reopened. He’s at the hospital now.”
My brows knitted together. “How could this happen?”

“He’s at FirstMedi Hospital. The doctors are examining him right now.”
“Got it. I’m on my way.” With that, I hung up the call.
I turned around and met Caden’s brooding gaze.
“Are you seriously going to see Jasper this late at night?” His tone was icy, laced with clear discontent.
“And what if I am?” I shot him a glare as I rose to my feet. “He’s one of my artists, and he got injured on set. As his boss, shouldn’t I at least check on him?”
Moreover, Jasper had been injured saving my life. Whether professionally or personally, I couldn’t just ignore this.
Caden’s expression darkened further at my insistence, his sharp brows furrowing. “I’ll take you there.”
Jasper’s POV:
I lay weakly on the hospital bed as my wound throbbed dully, but the pain in my heart was far worse.
All this time, I had truly believed that Rosaline and Caden were over. They had really broken up with Caden getting engaged to Heidi.
Although he was a jerk for betraying Rosaline, I couldn’t deny that it made me happy.
Because that meant I had a chance to pursue Rosaline again.
However, at the engagement party today, I finally realized everything had been my own foolish assumption.
Rosaline and Caden’s breakup had been nothing more than a carefully orchestrated act.
They had worked together seamlessly, exposing Heidi’s schemes to everyone.
And then, Caden had openly confessed his love to Rosaline. The way he spoke, the way he kissed her forehead in front of the entire crowd made my heart break.
I had no chance after all.
Rosaline’s smile and laughter haunted my mind and it hurt. So damn much.
Rosaline’s POV:
Caden drove me to FirstMedi Hospital.
“Wait here. I’ll check on Jasper and be right back,” I said as I stepped out of the car.
“I’m coming with you.” Caden grabbed my wrist.
I sighed at Caden’s pettiness exasperatedly. “Fine.”

Jasper’s face lit up the moment I kicked Caden out. “Rotaline, is there something you wanted to say to me?”
I looked at him and asked, “Why were you so insistent on filming tonight? You ended up like this because
of it.”
“I didn’t want to delay the production schedule,” Jasper answered flatly.
“But now you’re injured, and that’s only going to slow things down even more.” I frowned, gazing down at him. “Can’t you take better care of yourself?”
“Sorry, I didn’t expect to get hurt.” Jasper looked somewhat apologetic. Then he added softly, “But I’m happy you’re worried about me. It’s just a small wound. Don’t worry, I’ll be back on set tomorrow.”
As he spoke, he struggled to sit up. “I can be discharged right now.”
“No way. You’re staying here and resting tomorrow.” I firmly pressed him back down onto the bed.
Caden’s POV:
I had been waiting outside for a while, and irritation was starting to boil inside me..
What on earth did Rosaline need to discuss with Jasper that required me to leave the room?
Unable to hold back, I pushed the door open.
I was stunned at the sight. Rosaline was leaning over Jasper with both hands on his shoulders.
What the hell? Why was she in such an intimate position with another man?
My expression darkened and I strode toward Rosaline. pulled her into my arms without a word.
“It’s late. We should go,” I said sternly.
Rosaline must have sensed my jealousy because she sighed helplessly and turned to Jasper. “It’s decided then. Stay here and rest for a few more days. Get back to work when you’re fully healed.”
“I don’t want to hold up production,” Jasper insisted.
“I’m your boss, and I say you’re staying,” Rosaline replied, her tone leaving no room for argument.

My interactions with Jasper were purely work–related, yet this man was throwing a jealous fit over nothing.

I quickly pushed Caden away and turned to see Naomi approaching.

Still, I had a good impression of Naomi.
She was beautiful, hardworking, and humble.

Naomi’s POV:
I knocked on the hospital room door. “Jasper, are you resting? Can I come in?”

I pushed the door open and saw him lying on the hospital bed, looking downcast. His complexion wasn’t great, which made my heart clench with worry.
“Jasper, are you okay?” I asked.
Jasper shook his head. “I’m fine. What are you doing here?”
Pressing my lips together, I replied, “I heard you got hurt, so I came to check on you.”
“It’s nothing, just a minor injury.” Jasper smiled faintly. Did you come alone?”
I nodded.
“It’s late. It’s not safe for a girl to be out by herself,” he said with concern.
I smiled. “It’s fine. You should rest more. I’m relieved to see that you’re okay.”
After a brief pause, I added, “Oh, by the way, I saw Rosaline earlier. She and Mr. Holbrook came to visit you too?”
The moment I mentioned Rosaline, Jasper’s eyes dimmed.

Tears welled up in Yura’s eyes again. “He’s the same. There isn’t any response from him.”
“Let me take a look” I leaned down and checked Ryan’s pulse.
Yura’s voice trembled with desperation. “Rosaline, how is he? When will he wake up?”
“His injuries are severe,” I said after a moment of contemplation. “Especially his head. He suffered a serious impact, which is why he’s still unconscious.”
“The doctor said the same thing. Yura nodded anxiously. “Then what should we do? Should we call Hughie? He might have a way to help Ryan, right?”
I sighed lightly. “I already contacted Hughie. He’s on his way.”
“That’s good. As long as Hughie comes, Ryan will be saved.” Yura let out a breath of relief.
I patted her shoulder. “Yura, try not to worry too much.

However, Zera had no intention of listening. “You wretched jinx! If he wakes up, you’ll only make him pass out again from anger! Get out! I said get out–can’t you hear me?”
I sighed and reached out to support Yura’s arm.
I could feel her trembling–whether from the fear of Zera or the guilt and regret weighing down on her because Ryan was in this condition because of her..
“Yura, do you not understand? Leave! Stay away from my son!” Zera was relentless. Her words were cruel and unforgiving. I wanted to step in and say something in Yura’s defense, but before I could, Yura grasped my hand, silently asking me not to interfere.
Sebastian, the Alpha of the Storm Pack, had been watching silently. Since the situation had reached a stalemate, he finally spoke. “Yura, you’re pregnant. You’ve been staying here for days and you must be exhausted. Go back and get some rest. Come back tomorrow morning.”
Zera immediately looked at him with displeasure. “How can you still let her come back?”
Sebastian let out a heavy sigh. “She’s carrying Ryan’s child, after all.”

What?
I kicked the door open and saw a vivid red stain on her pants.
I grabbed her wrist and hastily checked her pulse.
Yura started shaking uncontrollably. “Rosaline… My belly hurts…”
I gasped in shock after giving her a brief checkup.
So, Yura’s stomach pain earlier in the hospital wasn’t because of Zera’s aggressiveness–it was because she had already started showing signs of complications with the pregnancy.
I rubbed my temples as I reassured her. The baby is still safe. Don’t panic. Bleeding during pregnancy isn’t uncommon, as long as it’s not excessive,”

Yara shook her head. “That’s not it. Take me to the hospital, just not the same one as Ryan. I’m afraid if I run into his parents there, they’ll misunderstand and nk I’m trying to get rid of the baby
I reassured her, “It’s fine. You’ll be in the maternity ward–a different unit. Besides, they’re in Ryan’s room. You won’t run into thein.”
“Rosaline… please,” she pleaded.
“Alright, alright!” I sighed and agreed reluctantly. I helped her to her feet, assisted her in putting her pants back on, and then we left,
Yura didn’t know that I was actually very anxious.
When I checked her earlier, I realized that the baby was unstable. The words I had just said were merely to comfort her, to keep her from worrying.
Right now, her emotions were all over the place. Zera’s harsh words had triggered her distress, which in Turn affected her pregnancy. If she got any more stressed out, I feared that she would have a miscarriage.
I supported Yura as we made our way downstairs and got into the car. As I drove away from the hotel. I glanced at her through the rearview mirror.
She was lying down in the back seat, not paying attention to the road ahead.
Taking advantage of that, I turned the car around and headed toward Ryan’s hospital. It was the closest one, and we needed to get there fast.
Since Yura wasn’t looking, she probably wouldn’t notice
“Ah! Rosaline, I feel like I’m bleeding again. My baby…
“Don’t overthink it. You only bled a little earlier. It’s like a small wound breaking open. It’s normal. We’ll be at the hospital soon, it’s going to be okay.”
Although I was calm on the outside, my grip on the steering wheel tightened. I was fully aware that Yura was in a critical condition.
When we arrived at the hospital, I quickly helped Yura out of the car and gave her a few instructions. “Are you feeling nervous? Close your eyes and don’t look at the road. It’ll help.”
Yura did as I said, keeping her eyes shut and allowing me to guide her completely.
I had her keep her eyes closed so she wouldn’t realize that I had actually brought her to the same hospital. as Ryan.
Earlier in the car, I had already registered her for an emergency appointment online. We went straight to the maternity department.
Inside the clinic, another pregnant woman was currently being examined. I sat Yura down in the waiting.

“Don’t worry, This is normal. I’ve even seen cases where women still had their period for six months during pregnancy,” a soft conversation between a patien and a doctor drifted from inside.
I turned to Yura. “See? Bleeding doesn’t necessarily me something bad. You’ll be fine.”
“Mhm.” Yura nodded slightly with her eyes still closed while gripping her clothes tightly, Her body wast trembling as she was still extremely worried.
A moment later, the patient inside finished her appointment, and it was Yura’s turn. I quickly helped her into the consultation room.
As soon as she sat down and opened her eyes, she saw the doctor’s name tag on her uniform. She realized that this was the hospital that Ryan had been admitted to based on the logo.
She turned to me and tried to stand up. “Rosaline, this n’t—”
I pressed her back down into the chair. “We’re already here. If you leave now, you might run into them outside. It’s possible either way, so you might as well let the doctor check you now.”
Yura was worried. “But-
“Stop talking: Just focus on your check–up. I cut her off
The female werewolf doctor, Janice, asked, “What’s wrong?”
Yura’s voice was weak. “Doctor, my stomach hurts… and I’ve been bleeding.”
Janice examined her carefully. “Look up at the ceiling for me.”
Yura followed her instructions.
Janice continued asking, “Where exactly does it hurt? Here? Or here?”
She gently pressed different areas of Yura’s abdomen.
Yura pointed lower. “A little below here.”
Janice nodded. “Did you eat breakfast today?”
“No…”
“Alright. Go get some bloodwork done first, then pay the fee for an ultrasound.”
Yura quickly asked, “Doctor, is my baby safe?”
Janice frowned and said with

and you’re slightly anemic. How do you expect the baby to be okay? You’re already showing signs of a threatened miscarriage.”
Yura’s face turned pale. Her breathing quickened as she panicked. “Doctor, please… you have to help me keep my baby.”
Janice gently pulled her hand away from Yura’s desperate grip. “You’re the one who has to protect your baby, not me. You need to manage your emotions. Your pregnancy is still in its early stages, which means it’s unstable. If you don’t take care of yourself. no one else can do anything for you.

Yura nodded vigorously. “Okay!”
I immediately paid the fees online via my phone and Janice led Yura to the ultrasound room.
The large ultrasound suite had six machines operating imultaneously. Each station had a bed and at curtain for privacy
Janice glanced at Yura. “Alright, lie down. Lift your shirt and pull your pants down slightly.”
Yura followed the instructions with my help. Janice pulled the curtain shut to ensure her privacy.
Yura anxiously looked at me while lying on the bed and I gave her a reassuring nod.
“Doctor, is my baby okay?” Yura asked anxiously.

“Have you been keeping up with your checkups? Janice asked, her voice a mix of concern and authority.
Tve been really busy lately, and I just didn’t have time Yura answered.
“You need to make sure you come regularly,” Janice insisted. “Prenatal checkups are crucial. Right now, the baby’s development is a bit slow. I’ll prescribe some medicine for you, and you’ll need five days of nutrient drips.”
After the ultrasound, Yura climbed off the bed, and I pulled the curtain aside. We were about to leave when Yura suddenly stopped.
She looked up and spotted Zera immediately. In a flash she yanked the curtain shut.
Janice noticed her reaction but didn’t press for more details.
“Is there someone out there you’re avoiding?” she asked
Yura nodded without saying a word.
Janice cautiously peeked through a small crack in the curtain. “Who is it?”
I pointed toward the door and whispered, “The woman in the green clothes.”
Without hesitation, Janice moved toward the curtain, fully closing it, blocking Zera from sight.
I smiled gratefully at her and helped Yura, seizing the chance to slip out quietly.
Once outside, Yura let out a sigh of relief. “That was close. I almost got spotted.”
Janice continued walking ahead of us, speaking in a low tone, “At this stage, the baby is still just an embryo. Its fingers haven’t even formed yet. It’s not really a person. If not everyone is on board with its arrival, you‘ should think carefully. After all, the environment for raising a child won’t be ideal.”
I couldn’t help but feel a little speechless at her words.
Janice clearly meant well, but she seemed to misunderstand the situation, assuming Yura was a naive girl, frightened by an unexpected pregnancy and worried about her family finding out.
Yura paused for a moment before responding, her voice firm. “Thank you, Doctor. I’m the rightful heir to the Galehowl Pack. I swear on the Moon Goddess, I will never let my child suffer”
Zera’s POV:
That woman, the one responsible for keeping my son unconscious, thought she could hide from me by pulling a curtain?
I saw everything. I heard every word.
As I walked back to the ward, I was in a foul mood.
Once I entered the room, I sat beside Ryan, adjusting his position carefully. Glancing at the heart monitor, I saw the lines still fluctuating regularly.

While his response was logical, his calmness only made my frustration worse. “How did I end up with someone like you? And to have a son nearly lose his life because of that woman!
Yura is such a curse. Just look at our son, and now look at the baby she’s carrying. She couldn’t even keep it healthy. The doctor said it’s underdeveloped. Kids these days grow so quickly, but hers is so small.”
I ranted, but Sebastian caught onto something off in my words and asked, “How do you know all this?”
I moved closer to Ryan, casually responding. “My sister came to see Ryan earlier, and while she was here, she went for a checkup and ran into Yura and that Rosaline. She overheard the doctor say the baby has a slight problem.
“Slight? Are you sure?” Sebastian asked, looking at me intently.
I hesitated, unsure. “Something like that… I didn’t hear clearly.”
Suddenly, the heart monitor began to beep loudly.
I froze, my heart racing as the machine let out a rapid series of beeps.
“It was fine just a moment ago. What’s happening now? I shouted in panic. “Doctor! Call the doctor!”
Sebastian stayed calm and pressed the call button on the bed, contacting the nurse’s station. “Doctor. there’s an issue with the patient in Ward 903. Get the attending physician here right away!”
The nurse’s voice came through the speaker. “The doctor is on their way. Please don’t move the patient until the doctor arrives.”
I stared at Ryan, watching as his bodybled slightly, his lips pale and slightly parted.
I was paralyzed with fear. Sebastian reached to touch him but pulled his hand back, leaning in to listen to Ryan’s faint whispers.

“What?” I was completely baffled. “Wasn’t he unconscious? How could he hear anything? I didn’t say anything about her! What are you talking about?”
“Didn’t Ryan just call out for Yura? Didn’t you hear it?” Sebastian frowned, looking at me intently.
I fell silent, realizing that I had indeed heard Ryan muttering Yura’s name.

“But I didn’t know what to say.
Sebastian fixed his gaze on me solemnly. “Yura’s important to Ryan. Now that he has regained some consciousness, you should stop making things difficult for Yura so that she can come and keep him company. It might help him recover.”
“I… “I was hesitant.
Sebastian’s expression darkened, and his Alpha presence suddenly flared, his voice cold as he added, “If you don’t agree to this, I won’t allow you to see Ryan while he’s in the hospital.”
In that instant, I felt all the strength drain from my body, and I collapsed to my knees, reaching out to grab Sebastian’s sleeve. He pulled it away coldly. “For Ryan’s sake, go. Bring Yura here. Otherwise, don’t bother coming back.”
Panicked, I nodded quickly, all my previous resentment evaporating under the overwhelming power of Sebastian’s Alpha presence.
He was right. If it was for Ryan’s well–being, then as the Luna of the Storm Pack, I could endure a little discomfort for my son’s sake.
“I’ll go find Yura now,” I said, turning to leave.
I went to the ultrasound room first, asking around, but no one had any information..
“Mrs. Lindsay, we only do exams here with scheduled appointments, and we have many patients every day. It’s difficult to find someone based on just a description. You could try the outpatient department. Maybe you’ll find the doctor you’re looking for there, the werewolf nurse explained.

“How’s the baby?” Zera walked in, her gaze fixed on Yur as she asked.
Yura nodded.
“Good. Then come with me. Ryan needs you.”
Yura froze, exchanging a glance with me.
I was just as confused. What was going on? Wasn’t Zera just annoyed with Yura and trying to push her away earlier? Now she was asking her to come along. Was there something else going on?
I stood up and spoke, “Mrs. Lindsay, Rosaline is currently getting an IV drip. She can’t leave right now. Is there something urgent you need to discuss?”
Zera glanced at me, then at Yura, letting out a heavy sigh. “Ryan needs you. The doctor is performing emergency treatment. You know how he feels about you. You could be a help to his recovery.”
“What’s wrong with Ryan? Why is he in emergency treatment? I’m going over there right now!”
Upon hearing that Ryan was in trouble, Yura immediately began removing her IV needle, eager to rush to him. But I quickly grabbed her arm.

I was growing frustrated. “What are doing? Didn’t you hear the doctor? When will you start caring about yourself?”
“But Ryan… Yura spoke.
“Are you a doctor? Do you think just showing up will fix him?”
My words made Yura pause, and I continued to calm her down. “I know you’re worried, but right now, what can you do besides worry? It would be better to focus on taking care of yourself first. Do you think Ryan would want to see you in such a state?”
I squeezed her hand gently, urging her to listen to me.
Yura understood, giving a slight nod. She looked up at the IV bag and said, “Mrs. Lindsay, Rosaline is right. If I go now, I’d only make things worse. I can’t help, and I know Ryan wants me to be okay.
The IV will be done soon. I’ll go right after.”
Zera let out a cold huff, clearly holding back her frustration. Just as I had suspected, she was trying to get Yura to come along.

Zera sighed heavily before coldly chuckling. “Fine. I’ll agree to this. If my son recovers this time, I won’t oppose your situation. But during this time, you must stay by his side and take care of him
Yura nodded eagerly. “Got it!”
I asked, “Where is Ryan now?”
“In his ward,” Zera replied.
With that, Yura immediately removed the needle and rushed toward Ryan’s room. As she passed by Zera, she accidentally brushed against her.
Zera didn’t seem to mind and quickly followed behind her.
I glanced at the needle left on the floor, picked it up, and reattached it to the IV bottle, making sure the medication didn’t spill out.
I had stopped Yura earlier because Zera had been in such a hurry. But now that things were settled, the Storm Pack’s Luna wouldn’t make things difficult for Yura anymore,
I had done what I needed to do, so I could leave with peace of mind.
I left the hospital and headed back to New Moon City.
Caden was busy with plans for Azure Haven. I walked over and watched, occasionally offering suggestions.

The people in the room looked confused. After all, Jasper was a renowned Oscar–winning actor, kissing scenes were hardly new to him. He’d done many in the past–so why was he refusing now?
I could feel the eyes of everyone shifting toward me. It seemed they all believed Jasper didn’t want to kiss me because he didn’t like me.
My heart sank, and I had to bite my lip to keep the tear from falling.
Eventually, the director gave in, agreeing to let Jasper use the body double.
But even with that decision. I couldn’t get the scene right. I was too lost in my sadness to feel the joy of being confessed to by the person I loved.

After another failed take, the director lost his patience and snapped, his voice tinged with frustration.

I signaled for the director to pause the shoot and took Jasper aside to talk.
“Why aren’t you resting and taking care of your injury? Do you want to get yourself killed?” I asked, frowning as I confronted him.
Jasper, clearly guilty, couldn’t meet my eyes. Instead, he stared at a tree behind me. “I don’t want to hold up the crew,” he muttered.
Seeing his stubbornness, I sighed in resignation and patted his shoulder.
He could be difficult.
There was nothing more I could do but coax him gently. After promising him another “date,” Jasper finally managed a small smile.
The director called for the shoot to resume, but when Naomi saw Jasper’s soft behavior toward me, her mood immediately soured, and she couldn’t get into the scene.

I knew Jasper had feelings for me, and he knew I didn’t share the sentiment, but he still held onto hope. The same went for Naomi; she was just as caught up in her feelings for him.
What a mess!
Jasper, if you don’t like her, just tell her already,” I muttered quietly, loud enough for only him to hear
Jasper’s expression faltered, his eyes briefly meeting Naomi’s before quickly darting away. “I know what I’m doing,” he replied.
At his words, I didn’t press further.
“Let’s begin,” I said, slipping into character instantly. My expression and emotions shifted without effort, as if, in that moment, the only person I could see was Jasper, the only one I loved.
I sat still, my eyes locked with his, filled with all the emotion I could convey.
Jasper, now fully in character, followed my gaze. His eyes slowly lowered to my lips, which had curved into a smile of pure joy.
The tension between us built to a peak as his pressing his lips against mine.

I hadn’t expected him to kiss me so suddenly. I tried to pull back in shock, but it was too late. Even as I pulled away, his lips lingered for a moment longer.
“I’m sorry
Jasper immediately apologized, flustered
“It’s okay. It’s just acting. I understand.” I smiled, quickly covering up the awkwardness.
“Naomi, come over and finish the scene. The director, ever sharp, sensed the tension and quickly called Naomi over to complete the shot.
I moved aside to let her take my place.
The scene was finally finished, albeit with difficulty, and once the director called “cut,” I quietly slipped our

On the drive home. I found myself lost in thought. As stopped at a red light, the image of the kiss scene replayed in my mind.
I sucked in a breath as I pondered the consequences. If Caden found out about this, I was afraid he’d transform into a white wolf and tear Jasper to pieces.
I left as quickly as I could to avoid the awkwardness.
But fate always has a way of playing cruel tricks.
As soon as I opened the door to my house, the living room was cloaked in darkness.
I frowned slightly, wondering why Caden wasn’t home yet.
After changing my shoes, I started up the stairs, but suddenly, a deep, cold voice, full of anger, froze me in my tracks.
“Rosaline, I think you owe me a serious explanation about where you’ve been and what you’ve been doing behind my back.”

Fumbling for the light switch, 1 illuminated the room to discover Caden perched stiffly on the couch. His usually pristine suit looked rumpled, and the glass tray before him overflowed with crushed cigarette ends.
How many hours had he been waiting in the dark?
“You could’ve turned on a lamp–you nearly gave me a heart attack,” I muttered, sinking into the opposite chair. My eyes darted to the overflowing ashtray before ventured cautiously, “What’s going on? Did something happen to the Eclipse Pack?”
Caden remained motionless, only his gaze sliding toward me. His mouth pressed into a hard line as he demanded agam, each word sharp as dagger, “Explain yourself. What have you been doing behind my
back?”
“Behind your back?” My forehead creased in genuine confusion. “You’re acting like I’ve been sneaking around.”
What bee had gotten into his bonnet this time?
-Caden smirked–cold, humorless–before pulling out his phone and tossing it onto the table. “See for
yourself.”
Puzzled, I examined the screen–and my blood turned to ice. Staring back at me was a photograph from today’s rehearsal with Jasper. That unscripted moment when he’d pressed his lips to mine.
The grainy image had clearly been taken from a distance, capturing us mid–scene with expressions that appeared… disturbingly tender.
Worse–it dominated every major news outlet.
Damn it.
Which bottom–feeding photographer had managed this?
A sense of regret dawned, along with sudden clarity about Caden’s stormy mood.
I measured my words carefully. “I was just helping on set. Naomi struggled with the scene, so I demonstrated. I never imagined some lurking photographer would snap photos of it”
“Then why did he kiss you?” Caden’s whisper carried more danger than any shout, his handsome features twisted with barely restrained rage.
Caden’s POV:
That damned image seared itself behind my eyelids. The urge to dismantle Jasper bone by bone. thrummed through my veins.
The audacity. Touching what belonged to me.
“He got carried away in the moment!” Rosaline insisted inching closer with pleading eyes. “Ask anyone who was there. Don’t you trust me?”

Rosaline froze, unprepared for the violence of the kiss, but I didn’t slow down. I consumed her, tasting, marking, until her resistance crumbled and she sagged against me.
Edward, my wolf, roared approval as primal hunger surged through us.
I didn’t pause. In one fluid motion, I pinned her beneath me on the couch. Fabric tore as I ripped her blouse open, sending buttons skittering across hardwol. My palms shoved her skirt up, revealing flimsy lace barely concealing her warmth.
“C–Caden, not here… Rosaline’s fingers tangled in my air, her voice breathless, cheeks flushed.
Her lips already glistened, swollen from my assault.
She had no idea how she looked–like temptation incarnate. And that feeble protest? It only confirmed she’d already surrendered.
“Rosaline. I growled against her throat, “you’d better remember this: I don’t share. Not your time, not your smile–not even a single damn hair.”
I stripped her bare. For the first time, she lay utterly exposed beneath me, those doe eyes wide with dazed vulnerability.
“Since you’ve forgotten who owns you,” I murmured, trailing kisses down her quivering body, “I’ll remind you properly, right here on this couch. Until the lesson sticks.”
I began with her mouth, then lower–the curve of her breasts, the dip of her navel, the molten heat between her thighs.
She cried out when my tongue found her core, back arching as I licked her clean, savoring every drop of her essence.
Rosaline writhed, fists clenching couch fabric, chanting any name like a sacred hymn..
The room filled with the scent of her arousal, thick and intoxicating.
By the time she came, shuddering around my tongue, she was boneless beneath me–pliant, ruined.
“Mate with her,” Edward urged, his voice rough with need. “Let the Moon Goddess witness this night.”
Right now, Rosaline had melted into a puddled mess, completely conquered by. my tongue as she achieved orgasm.
As she lay there, dazed and breathless, I pulled back.
She blinked up at me, confused.

That morning. I sat by Ryan’s hospital bed, phone in hand, reading him the news while keeping an eye on his condition.
“Ryan, the doctor said your condition has improved a tle. Your subconscious is starting to wake up, so maybe you can hear me now.
“Yesterday, your mom said that as long as you wake up safely, she won’t make things hard for me anymore. It seems like she’s finally coming around to us being together, so please, for my sake, you really need to wake up soon.”
Following the doctor’s advice, I kept talking to Ryan asuch as I could. Then, my phone rang. It was a call from my mom.
“Mom? Why are you calling me?” I answered, surprised
“You’re my daughter. Of course I can call you,” Mom replied, her tone slightly annoyed.
“Right, right, you’re right, I just thought it was early and you don’t usually call at this time. I thought something serious had come up.”
Mom’s tone softened a little as she said, “Well, I do have something to talk about. Ryan’s in the hospital, right? I’ve booked a flight to Rivemon to visit you, and I stop by to see him too.”
The mention of Ryan made my heart skip a beat.
As the Luna of Galehowl Pack, Mom wouldn’t visit Ryan without a reason. She was probably here to discuss some sort of marriage alliance between our packs.
But considering the situation, now wasn’t the right time–especially with Ryan’s mom’s attitude.
I quickly tried to change her mind. “Mom, Ryan’s still unconscious. You’d just be coming for no reason. Maybe wait until he’s feeling better, and then you can come.”
“It’s fine,” she answered firmly. “I’m mainly coming to see you. Visiting him is secondary. I’ve already bought my ticket. I’ll be there at 1:00 p.m today. You can pick me up at the airport.
“Mom, I really think it’s better to wait until Ryan’s a bit better, I insisted. “I’m fine. Really. We have plenty of time. There’s no rush.”
But Mom was determined. “Yura, I’ve made up my mind. Just make sure to pick me up this afternoon.”
And with that, the phone clicked off.

I stared at the phone, feeling a little helpless.
I had always been the obedient daughter, never lying, and I knew Mom must’ve sensed something wasn’t right for her to be so insistent.
But with Zera already showing hostility toward me, I was really worried. If Mom and Zera crossed paths today, there could be a confrontation. And if that happened, things between Ryan and me would become

I squeezed Ryan’s hand, speaking softly, “Ryan, what do you think? Do you think my mom and your mom might end up fighting? I swear, it would be so much eater if I were the one lying here at least you could deal with their issues instead of me.
Just then, the werewolf doctor entered to check on Ryan. I quickly stepped outside to ask, “Doctor, Ryan hasn’t eaten or drunk anything for days. Is it okay if 1 t giving him a little food?”
The doctor smiled kindly. “You can try giving him son chicken soup, but make sure you only give him the soup. No solid food–just the soup, or it could choke him or get into his airways.”

Following the doctor’s advice. I had the kitchen prepare the chicken soup, carefully scooping out the liquid. I fed Ryan slowly, though he only managed a few spoonfuls before some of the soup dripped from. the corner of his mouth. At least he had eaten a little.
By now, it was almost 11:30 a.m., and Mom’s flight would land soon, so I called Zera to ask her to stay and watch over Ryan.
Zera answered quickly, agreeing to come without hesitation.

It was already past noon when Zera arrived at the hospital. Mom’s flight would arrive at 1:00 p.m.. was only an hour left. I had to leave for the airport, so as soon as Zera entered Ryan’s room, I hurried out to catch my mom.
“Mrs. Lindsay, my mom will be here soon, so I have to rush to the airport. Please take care of Ryan whi I’m gone.” I glanced at Zera before rushing off.
Mom’s flight landed right on time.
I waited near the exit for a while before finally spotting her.
“Mom, over here!” I waved as soon as I saw her.
She walked over, her brow furrowed. “Yura, you look so tired. And have you lost weight?”
“Hospital life isn’t exactly restful,” I said, trying to sound casual. “And I didn’t put on any makeup, so I probably look a bit pale.” I shrugged, pretending it wasn’t a big deal.
“You’re pregnant now,” she said, her voice softer now as she gently touched my face. “You don’t have to focus everything on Ryan–his family can take care of Him too. Now that you have a baby on the way, you really need to take better care of yourself.”
I guided her outside, responding lightly, “I know, Mom I’ll be fine.”
Once we were outside, I flagged down a taxi, but my mom wasn’t happy about it. “Why did you come alone? Didn’t anyone from Storm Pack come with you?
“Ryan’s dad is busy, and his mom is with him at the hospital, so they couldn’t come,” I explained.
My mom raised an eyebrow, still displeased. “They didn’t even send a driver to pick you up? You’re carrying their child, and I’m your mother–how could they not have made proper arrangements? This isn’t how it’s supposed to be!” She continued grumbling as we headed toward the taxi.

A taxi pulled up, and I quickly ushered my mom Into the car. “Mom, you came so suddenly, and I didn’t give anyone a heads–up, so I wasn’t prepared. The car’s here. Hurry up and get in
Throughout the ride, Mom didn’t smile once. She held ny hand tightly, her eyes full of concern as she stared at me. “You’ve lost so much weight!”
“It’s just because I’m pregnant. I have this body where matter how much I eat, I can’t gain weight. Honestly, you’re overreacting. I don’t even feel like I’ve lost weight–it’s not that noticeable.” I tried to reassure her.
“You’re my flesh and blood. Of course I care!” she said, her voice filled with worry.
“Okay, okay, I’ll eat more
Her concerned words continued throughout the ride, and I began to regret asking Zera to stay and look after Ryan, I should’ve hired a nurse instead.
I couldn’t stop thinking about how Ryan’s mom was already upset with me over Ryan’s condition, and now my mom was unhappy with Storm Pack. The two of them were bound to clash when they met.
A felt a headache coming on.
When we arrived at the hospital, we walked into Ryan’s room together. Zera didn’t greet us with a smile, but as the Luna of her pack, she still made an effort to be polite.
“Hello, Celia, Zera said coolly.
“Hi. Zera. I came specifically to see Ryan. I care about him a lot.”
“Please, sit. There’s some fruit; have some, Zera said with almost no emotion, offering the fruit but not getting up to serve it.
The tension between the two pack Lunas was palpable, as they subtly competed with each other.
Zera assigned me tasks, like feeding Ryan and changing his pillowcase, while Mom couldn’t stand seeing her daughter treated like a servant. She immediately called Zera out on it.
“You need to take care of yourself when your dad and aren’t around to look after you. You shouldn’t look after others when you’re pregnant, Yura, you need to focus yourself. You’re the one who needs care right now, not others. Don’t push yourself like this.”
She shot a sharp look at Zera. “Remember, you’re the heir of Galehowl Pack, not someone’s housekeeper!”
Zera finally snapped back, “So what if she’s your family’s heir? What about my son? Is he not important? If it weren’t for Yura, he wouldn’t be in this condition! Yura is here because she wants to be. She owes my son and Storm Pack this much!”
Mom was furious now, slamming her hand on the table and shouting, “Storm Pack isn’t some small tribe! How dare you treat a pregnant woman like this! My daughter is carrying your family’s legacy, and you can’t even show any gratitude! Are you heartless?!”
Zera glared at my mom, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Yura is here by her own choice. So what if she

Just as the tension reached its peak and the atmosphere was about to explode, the Alpha of Storm Pack arrived, interrupting Mom’s words.
The moment Sebastian stepped in, the air in the room shifted. Zera immediately straightened up, bowing her head respectfully. Mom also quieted down, swallowing her anger.
Sebastian, his commanding presence filling the room, gave Zera a quick glance before smiling at my mom. “Yura should’ve told me earlier. I would have gone to pick you up at the airport, Celia. Why are you standing? Please, sit down.”
“Mom, sit down,” I gently urged.
Seeing that Mom still looked upset, Sebastian continued, his tone softening to show appreciation for me, “Yura has been such a help these last few days. She’s been taking care of Ryan, and it’s been a lot of work for her. She’s really been great. Without her, I don’t know how we would’ve made it through.
“Ryan’s subconscious has been improving lately, and every time he calls out, it’s for Yura.”
Sebastian smiled warmly. “Yura is strong. I’ve been telling Zera at home how impressive she is. But of course, she’s a little upset, saying Ryan is being ungrateful, needing Yura instead of her.”
His words praised me, while also shedding light on why Zera had been in a bad mood earlier while saving face for my mom. Her expression finally softened.
But Zera, irritated by the conversation, stood up and left the room, slamming the door behind her.

I didn’t have the strength to chase after her, so I simply sat back down beside my mom.
“Sebastian, it’s not that I’m angry,” Mom began, her brow furrowing in frustration. “I understand you care about your son, but I care about my daughter too. Watching her doing all that… I’ve raised my daughter for over 20 years, and she’s not here to serve anyone else.”
“I know, I know,” Sebastian quickly replied, sensing the hift in her tone. Have you eaten yet?”
“I had something on the plane, Mom answered,
Sebastian immediately unpacked the bag he had brought. “Yura, I’m sure you haven’t caten yet. I had the chef prepare lunch for you and Celia. Here, I even packed some pickles for you since you mentioned wanting something sour.”
“Thank you, Mr. Lindsay,” I said gratefully, accepting the lunchbox. “The pregnancy symptoms have been pretty intense these past few days, so sour food really helps.
Sebastian pulled up a chair and sat across from my mom. “Celia, since Yura is already pregnant, once Ryan wakes up, we’ll need to start planning their wedding. As you know, Storm Pack is a respected family in the city, and we’ll make sure Yura is well taken care of.
His words seemed to ease Mom’s worries, and her expression softened.
*Sigh … I just feel for the kids,” she said, glancing at Ryan, still unconscious in his bed.
I squeezed her hand and forced a smile. “Mom, Mr. Lindsay, I’m sure Ryan will wake up soon.”
Rosaline’s POV:
The weekend arrived sooner than expected.
The morning sun poured in through the window, casting a soft golden light over the bed.
I woke up slowly, feeling groggy, and was about to get up when I saw Caden’s tall figure leaning against the doorframe.
“What are you doing at my door?” I gave him a mock roll of my eyes.
Since the time he’d used that naughty method of punishment on me, he’d mostly left me alone. Our relationship had finally reached a somewhat peaceful place.
Caden stepped into the room. “We’re going to the old mansion today to visit Grandpa. Did you forget?”

“Rosie, you look exhausted. Has Caden been giving you trouble?” Richard noticed my tired expression and couldn’t help but ask.

“If that little brat Caden is bothering you, don’t hesitate to tell me. I’ll deal with him,” Richard said, pulling me close with affection in his eyes.
“Thank you!” I felt a warm sense of gratitude spread though me.
“Come on, come on, stop standing around. Let’s get inside,” Richard said, gently pulling me toward the
mansion.
Inside the old mansion, we settled down on the couch with Richard. He looked at me seriously. “Rosie, I heard about the situation with Heidi. Luckily, you see through her true colors; otherwise, Caden would still be fooled. Caden’s too sentimental, always holding on to past favors.”
“Grandpa, where are you going with this?” Caden muttered, clearly uncomfortable.
After a short pause, he added stubbornly, “Actually, I’ve known for a while that Heidi was fake. How else would I have gone along with that little act with Rosaline? Right, Rosaline?”
I rolled my eyes at him. “Oh, please.”
“Now that Heidi’s out of the picture, when are you two getting married? I’m old, and I can’t wait to hold my grandchild. Besides, it’s time for the Eclipse Pack’s Alpha title to pass on to you,” Richard said, grinning with twinkling eyes.
The moment Caden heard this, his face became serious. Richard was using his Alpha status to nudge us toward a quicker wedding.
“We’re planning to get engaged next month,” I said, sitting beside Richard.
“Grandpa, pick a good date for us,” Caden said quickly, sitting next to me.
Richard laughed heartily. “You don’t need to ask. I’ve already picked a date–the fifth of next month. There’s plenty of time to get everything ready, so no worries.”

It felt like the Moon Goddess would make it up to me in one way or another for the things she owed me. At least I had Caden and Richard looking out for me. I was truly fortunate.
At that moment, Caden slapped the armrest of the couch, his tone a mix of teasing and challenge. “Grandpa, I’m going with Rosaline. You don’t have to worry about anything happening to her. I’ll bring her back safe and sound.”
You little…” Richard pointed at Caden, half–joking and half–warning. “Since you’re going with Rosie, you’d better take care of her. Otherwise, if I see she’s lost weight when you two return, I’ll give you a good spanking, you little brat.”
Caden shook his head and laughed, clearly amused. “Alright, alright. I got it, Grandpa. You don’t need to

Richard finally seemed reassured. The butler came in to remind him that it was time to rest, and Richard slowly rose with the support of his cane.
“You two don’t come back often, so don’t leave just yet. Stay here tonight. Leslie, prepare a room for them. Let this little couple have some time together.”
Leslie, clearly understanding Richard’s implication, nodded and headed upstairs to get the room ready, at smile tugging at his lips.
Caden and I exchanged glances, and I sighed before shrugging. I understood Richard’s intentions. It had been quite a while since Caden had returned home.
After dinner, Richard excused himself, claiming he needed to retire to his room. Before he left, he gave us a knowing look. I knew exactly what he meant, and I smiled at Caden.
“My grandpa is like that. Don’t mind him. You’ve known him long enough, Caden said, as though sensing ny discomfort. He leaned in and gently squeezed my hand to reassure me.
I whispered, “I know. He’s your grandpa, the Alpha of Eclipse Pack, after all.”

I thought about it, but the desire within me grew stronger. Quietly, I got up from the sofa and crept toward her side. I carefully braced myself on the edge of the bed and leaned down to place a soft kiss on her

“It’s been a while since we’ve talked like this. I wanted to hold you.”
“Hmm?” Rosaline lifted her head slightly, looking at me with confusion. “What’s gotten into you?”
“Nothing” I gazed at her, my heart overflowing with love. Pulling her closer, I murmured, “I was just thinking, this time, I’ll ensure you have the grand engagement ceremony you deserve. Everything I owe you, everything that should’ve been yours. I’ll give it all to you.”

Our eyes met, and at that moment, I wished time could stop forever.
Rosaline’s POV:
The next day, after saying goodbye to Richard at the old estate of the Eclipse Group, Caden and I got into the car and left.
“Caden, I’ll fly to Phoshire for the fashion design competition tomorrow. I’ll be gone for about five or six days, not counting the travel time, so wait for me, okay? I said.
Caden tightened his grip on my hand, adjusted the car speed to something more comfortable, and then turned to look at me. I’ll go with you.”

His gaze was so sincere that I couldn’t help but smile.
Having Caden by my side is my life’s most significant source of happiness.
Without thinking, as soon as Caden pulled the car over. I instinctively leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to the corner of his lips. Grasping his wrist, I whispered, “ou’re amazing.”
That kiss flipped a switch, instantly setting off Caden’s desire. He slipped an arm around my waist and pulled me close.
The distance between us vanished, and just a second or two of staring into my eyes, he captured my lips in a deep, possessive kiss, pouring all his passion and intensity into it.
I quickly melted into the kiss, my hands instinctively wrapping around Caden’s neck as I responded to him with gentle affection.

“I got it. I smiled, not saying more about Caden’s decision to go to Phoshire with me. It was as good as agreeing.
The following day, at precisely ten o’clock, Caden had ready arranged for a private jet to be ready at the airport. After passing through security, we boarded together.
“This time, nothing bad will happen, right?”
Because of what happened the last time I was on a plane, I kept telling myself I wasn’t afraid of heights, but deep down. I couldn’t shake the anxiety.
Caden’s voice was gentle, reassuring me, “Nothing will happen. I’m right here with you.
Hearing those words. I finally relaxed a little. The flight from Rivemon to Phoshire would take six to seven hours. Everything was smooth at first, but about two hours in, the plane suddenly jolted, shaking violently briefly.
I instinctively gripped the hem of my shirt, my fingertips turning pale from how tightly I held on.
Caden noticed immediately. Without hesitation, he pulled me into his arms and called over a flight attendant. “What’s going on?”
The plane just hit a small air current, but everything is fine now,” she explained. “There’s nothing to worry about, Mr. Holbrook, Ms. Sinclair.”
Caden gave a slight nod before turning his attention back to me. He gently patted my shoulder and ran his hand up and down my back, soothing me.
But my heart was still racing. That turbulence dragged me back to the memory of the crash, the same sudden drop and terrifying force. Except back then, it had been much worse.
I was still shaken.
Without realizing it, I clutched his sleeve tightly, my voice barely above a whisper. “Are you sure it’s really okay?”
“It’s okay.” His voice was soft but firm. “The flight attendant already said it was just minor turbulence. Everything’s fine now. We’ll be in Phoshire soon. Just relax, okay?”
Under his constant reassurance, my tension gradually eased. I pulled away from his embrace, turning my face to the side to hide my embarrassment.
Caden understood. He didn’t say anything, just let me be.
The rest of the flight was smooth, and six hours later, we finally arrived in Phoshire.

I didn’t expect Rosaline to wake up. When she turned look at me. I froze for a moment before quickly. composing myself.
She’s my wife. Why should I feel guilty?
With that thought, I felt much more at ease. I lifted the blanket and slid in beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder so she could rest on my arm.
Rosaline’s lips curled into a sweet smile as she hesitantly wrapped her arms around my waist. “You know, I don’t actually care about all that. As long as you’re there that’s enough.”
Η
I shook my head. “Isn’t work hectic right now? Just focus on your company. I promise I’ll be fine.”
“But
“He hesitated. “Aren’t you afraid of heights? What if you panic on the plane? I think it’s better to go with you, just in case.”

Yet, despite the heat of the moment, his kiss remained ontrolled. After half a minute, he pulled away and looked at ine with deep affection. “I just want you to know, no matter what. Fll always be there for you. I won’t let anything happen to you.”

Thave a villa here in Phoshire. It’s already been cleaned and prepared for us. We’ll stay there while you attend the competition, Caden said as we got into the r that had come to pick us up.
“Alright.” I nodded.
When we arrived. I was pleasantly surprised by the villas interior.
Its simple yet elegant design is understated, refined, and incredibly cozy. A few plush toys were scattered on the long sofa in the living room, making the space feel even warmer and more inviting.
“This place is amazing.” I said as I walked in, curiosity getting better. I couldn’t resist looking around and touching everything. Caden stood there, watching me with a fond smile.
I paused for a moment, then turned to him with a grin I really like this house. It’s exactly my style.”
“If you like it, we can come here yearly and stay for a few days.”
“Really?” His words made my heart skip a beat. I truly loved this place, and when I saw the sincerity in his eyes. I couldn’t help but step forward and hug him.
Thank you for taking care of me.”
Caden pulled me into his arms effortlessly, resting his chin on my head. His voice was soft but firm. “You know I’ll always give you whatever you want.”
“Oh! Do you remember that amusement park we visited before? It’s still open and even bigger now. Want to go check it out?” Caden remembered something, let go of me, and said with a smile.
Surprised, I blinked, then broke into a smile. “Oh! I remember! Is it still there? Then let’s go now!”
By the time we arrived, the sky had already turned a warm shade of orange, and the amusement park was about to close.
“Sorry, sir, but we’re closing soon. Suppose you and your girlfriend want to visit, then you can come back tomorrow morning,” the werewolf staff member at the entrance said apologetically as he approached us.
Caden and I exchanged a knowing look and burst into laughter simultaneously.
Clearing his throat, Caden playfully asked, “What makes you so sure we’re a couple?”
The werewolf attendant chuckled and shrugged. “You to just look like you belong together. It’s obvious.”
The people of Fostrau were known for their warmth and romance, so I decided to play along.
I let go of Caden’s hand, only to slip my arm through his instead. Then, smiling at the attendant, I said, “Thank you. We’re actually getting engaged next month My fiancé is here on a business trip with me. By the way, we’ve been here before. We remember that the Ferris wheel stays open a little later. After saying goodbye to the werewolf attendant, we wandered around the park. Even though we had been here before, revisiting these places together still felt fresh and exciting.
When we got tired, we stopped by a nearby restaurant for dinner. When the Ferris wheel reopened. Caden was already leading me back to the park.
The Ferris wheel moved slowly, carrying us higher and higher. Just as we reached the top, fireworks bloomed in the night sky. I gasped in surprise, my eyes widening in awe. The vibrant colors painted the sky, reflecting in my eyes.
“They’re beautiful.”
Caden wasn’t looking at the fireworks. He was looking me. A soft smile played on his lips as he murmured. They are. But you’re even more beautiful,
“Hm? What did you say?” I didn’t catch his words completely. I only knew he had spoken, so I turned to him in confusion, only for him to cup my face and kiss me.
At that moment, our Ferris wheel cabin was at its highest point.
This kiss was different from before. It was gentle yet profound, lingering with warmth and passion. Neither of us rushed, and neither of us held back.
When we finally pulled apart, our hands naturally found each other’s.
Caden gazed at me intently, his grip tightening slightly. His voice was steady, his words filled with conviction. “Rosaline, I want you to know. I, Caden, will only ever love you. For a lifetime. I will never let
you go.
I looked back at him, my heart swelling with emotion. There was a smile in my eyes and maybe just a hint
of tears.
“I believe you. And I feel the same.”
At that moment, our hearts grew even closer.

As Caden busied himself in the kitchen, I wandered argind the house. Suddenly, I remembered the design competition. Slapping my forehead, I rushed to the study, grabbed my laptop from the cabinet, and got to work.
The competition was just around the corner. I had to double–check my designs to ensure they were perfect. No mistakes were allowed.
I was focused entirely on the screen, tweaking every little detail. It wasn’t until the aroma of food filled the air that I finally snapped out of it, mumbling instinctively. That smells amazing.”
Caden smiled as he brought the dishes to the table, even setting up my utensils for me.
“Alright, put the designs aside for now. Come eat.”
I nodded, set my laptop to the side, and walked over to the dining table, only to find it covered with an impressive spread of food.
“You made all this?” I looked at him in surprise.
“It’s not much. Just your favorites.” He smiled.
Yura’s POV:
I had been waking up early every day, partly to take care of Ryan at the hospital and partly to keep an eye on Celia and Zera in case they got into another fight.
Never thought I’d end up mediating a family feud one day. Just thinking about it gave me a headache.
After washing up, I returned to my room, picked up my phone, and checked the time. That’s when I remembered Hughie arriving in Riveron today.
Initially, I had invited Hughie to treat Timothy. But now, I needed his help for Ryan, too. I really was troubling him too much.
I let out a self–deprecating laugh. Two knocks were on my door, followed by Celia’s voice. “Yura, are you up? Come have breakfast.”
Celia was worried I’d be bullied at Storm Pack, so she insisted on staying here to care for me.
I answered and stepped out. At the dining table, the atmosphere was heavy with tension. Zera barely even looked at me, her face cold as ever. Only Sebastian spoke to me now and then

“I’m full. Oh, right, Dr. Watts is arriving in Rivemon today. I have to go pick him up.”
“Dr. Watts? Oh, the medical master? Then go quickly, don’t keep him waiting,” Celia urged.
“Got it.” I nodded, grabbed my coat, and hurried out the door.
Zera clearly didn’t care about what I had just said. Sheared at me before slamming her fork onto the table with a loud clatter.
I rushed to the airport and made my way to the arrival hall, scanning the crowd. Finally, I spotted Hughie walking toward me from the southeast corner.
I stood on tiptoe and waved enthusiastically. “Dr. Watts
Hughie glanced over, spotted me, and nodded in greeting as he approached.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, I smiled apologetically. “Dr. Watts, I’m sorry to trouble you again.”
“It’s fine.” He shook his head. “Let’s go straight to the hospital. From what you told me, his condition sounds serious. I’ll check on him first.”
“Alright.” I let out a breath of relief. Having Hughie here gave me hope.
At the hospital, we entered Ryan’s ward. Hughie set his bag aside and walked over to the bed, carefully examining Ryan.
He checked his pupils, felt his pulse, and, after a while, anally looked up at me. “His will to live is strong. But due to the accident, there’s still some blood clotting in his brain that hasn’t cleared up yet. That’s why he hasn’t woken up. The clot isn’t permanent, but it will take time to dissipate.”
My heart clenched. The pregnancy lasted ten months, and I was getting further along each day. I didn’t know what I’d do if Ryan didn’t wake up soon. The thought of carrying this guilt for the rest of my life was
unbearable.
Panicked, I grabbed Hughie’s sleeve, my voice trembling with desperation. “Dr. Watts, please save h This happened because of me. I can’t just stand by and do nothing.”
Hughie studied me for a long moment before finally sighing. “I can use a witch’s stone to help dissolve the clot in his brain. But it’s a risky procedure. I can’t guarantee success.”

I stood outside Room 505, where Susan’s studio was located. It had taken quite some effort to track down this well–known designer.
1 knocked.
“Come in,” a woman’s voice called out impatiently.
Pushing the door open, I stepped inside. After walking through the hallway, I spotted Susan sitting on the couch in the living room, eyeing me in confusion.
I approached with a polite smile, extended my hand, and said, “Hello, Ms. Susan. I’m Anna,”
She didn’t move. Her sharp gaze remained fixed on me filled with suspicion.
“Who are you?” she asked with a frown.
That doesn’t matter. What does matter is that I know who you’ve been working with lately–and I also know who Loe is.”
The moment I mentioned Loe’s name, Susan’s expression shifted. Her eyes widened in surprise. “You know her too?”
“I know her very well,” I said with a sneer as I took a seat beside Susan’s desk.
“You used to dominate international design competitions, always coming in first. But because of Loc, you ended up like this. It’s alright. I know exactly who she is and I can help you.”
Susan’s excitement faded into wariness. She looked up at me, her expression guarded. “You claim to know her, and you think you can help me. But I don’t even know who you are. What do you want?”
“I get that you don’t know me. That’s fine. My gaze settled on Susan’s face. Her reaction was just as I had predicted. She wasn’t entirely clueless.
“Allow me to introduce myself properly. I’m Candice Reese, the heiress of the Phantom Pack. If you’ve followed art news even a little, you’ve probably seen my name. As for the Loe you’re envious of, she’s even easier to recognize–Rosaline Sinclair, the powerhouse of Rivemon. I’m sure you’ve heard of her.”
When Susan heard Rosaline’s name, her expression shifted dramatically. “Wait, are you saying Rosaline, the CEO of Starplay Entertainment and fiancée of the Eclipse Group’s CEO, is Loe?”
I gave a small, knowing smile and nodded. “That’s right Ms. Sinclair and I go way back. She grabbed my boyfriend, humiliated me, and turned me into a joke.”
Memories resurfaced, and I instinctively brushed my cheek, bitterness welling up inside. “If not for her, my face wouldn’t have ended like this.”
Susan frowned slightly,

That’s the whole story. I ended with a faint sadness in my tone. “Because of her, I fell off a cliff and had to get plastic surgery in Hoorn.”
Susan stared at me, clearly struggling to process what she had just heard.
Her fingers tightened around the armrest as she murmured in shock, “How could this happen? I thought she was just a spoiled, low–ranked Omega with no real skills. I never imagined…
Her response was exactly what I had anticipated. Keeping my eyes on her, I continued, “That’s why when I saw her latest success, I couldn’t help but think of you. You used to be the best, but she’s taken the spotlight. Anyone would be upset.”
Susan lifted her chin slightly, skepticism still in her eyes. “This is the first time we’ve met. Why should I believe you, Ms. Reese? You claim you want to help me how exactly?”
I had expected her to be doubtful. While I wasn’t a fashion expert, I had seen the footage of Rosaline defeating Susan. Truthfully, Rosaline’s work had an extra spark that Susan’s designs lacked.
Smiling, I leaned forward. “Would you be interested in Rosaline’s design drafts? If you know what she’ll design, you can tweak your designs to make them even more stunning. I can get them for you.”

The moment I finished speaking, Susan’s gaze instinctively shifted to the design drafts on the desk, her eyes flickering for a moment.
I studied her closely, fully confident that my plan to steal the drafts would intrigue her.
After all, nothing would appeal more to a defeated person than the chance to bring down the one responsible for their loss–especially for someone as prideful as Susan.
“Well? Does the idea tempt you?” I asked, breaking the silence that had stretched too long, deliberately stoking the fire.

I smirked inwardly. As expected, she wasn’t easy to manipulate.
Stepping closer, I leaned in just enough to shorten the space between us, placing one hand on the desk as I locked eyes with her. “It’s simple. I want Rosaline gone.”
“Gone?” Susan gasped sharply.
I nodded. “Yes, I want her life. If you help me, I’ll make sure you have everything you need.”
Susan’s initial surprise quickly shifted into a pleased smile, a clear sign that my offer had piqued her interest.
“A pleasure working with you, Ms. Reese,” she said, extending her hand.
“A pleasure working with you as well, talented designer,” I replied, reaching out to shake hers.
Though we both smiled, I was aware that Susan might have her own agenda. Even so, I wasn’t concerned- after all, we shared a common enemy.
“Alright, then. I’ll be expecting good news from you,” she remarked, raising an eyebrow as she signaled for me to leave.
With my objective met, there was no reason to linger. I nodded and turned to go, but Susan stopped me before I reached the door.
She walked back to her desk, unlocked the lowest drawer, and pulled out a wallet. Taking out a card, she handed it to me. “Ms. Reese, what you’re asking is quite extreme, but since you helped me, it’s only fair that I offer something in return. Consider this a token of appreciation. Just remember to follow through with the plan. Once I see the design drafts, I’ll do my best to fulfill your request.”
I grinned. Those were exactly the words I had been waiting for.

“According to credible sources, Mr. Caden Holbrook and Ms. Rosaline Sinclair are set to hold their engagement ceremony on the fifth of next month. The location for the event is still under discussion.”
As soon as I heard Rosaline’s name, my expression darkened. A wave of jealousy and bitterness crashed over me. Why? After everything I had endured for Caden, how could he still end up with Rosaline?
What did that country Omega have that I didn’t?
I clenched the couch fabric tightly. It was obvious that I had a better background. The idea that Caden had rejected me only to devote himself to Rosaline was unbearable.
No, I wouldn’t stand by and let them be together.
I wouldn’t allow Rosaline to take what I couldn’t have!
Heidi’s POV:
After Rosaline exposed me at the engagement ceremony, the werewolf authorities arrested me. I was convicted of fraud and espionage and sentenced to 18 years behind bars.
Prison was a nightmare. Almost every female prisoner knew about my past. And here, being infamous only made things worse.
The other prisoners looked at me with disdain, and the dominant ones always tormented me. They would turn on the faucet just to drench me when I tried to wash my face or purposely knock over my tray during meals. Some even forced me to serve a werewolf who had been locked up for five years, making me wash

“Don’t give me that attitude,” she scoffed, lounging on her bed as I scrubbed. “You’re nothing but a fraud who toys with people’s emotions. Do you think you’re some kind of high–class lady? From what I heard, your pathetic father was a kidnapper too, wasn’t he?”

Mia Fisher–that was her name. She had been sentenced to life for tearing out her husband’s throat in his sleep after enduring years of abuse.
I hated it when people brought up my family, but standing before someone like Mia, who had killed her husband without hesitation, I knew better than to let my anger show.
Swallowing my fury, I shot her a cold glare and continued scrubbing her filthy feet.
“Oh? You still have the nerve to glare at me?” Mia sneered, spitting on the floor. Her voice dripped with disdain.
A few other prisoners chimed in, “Mia, don’t waste your breath on her. She’s always like this. A few lessons will set her straight.”
One of them, a short–haired woman, casually tossed her snacks onto the ground. Some even landed on my face.
The more I thought about it, the more the rage inside me burned. I lifted my head and glared fiercely at the short–haired woman.
She smirked. “Oh? You got a problem? Going to throw a tantrum?” Without warning, she slapped me hard across the face.
With a sharp slap, I was sent sprawling to the floor, blood spilling from my mouth.
She shot me a sidelong glance. “You’ve got so many bad habits. Do you think you’re some kind of heiress? Take a good look at yourself. Still dreaming of being rich? No one cares about you.
“Let it go. We still have to study later. She won’t even react. It’s not worth our time. Let’s leave.”
One of the prisoners standing beside Mia had been observing the scene. When she noticed I wasn’t responding and just sat there silently, her interest faded. She stepped forward and tugged at the short- haired prisoner’s sleeve, signaling her to drop it and not cause trouble.
I recognized those prisoners. They would be released in a few years, so there was no reason for them to risk more time behind bars just for a bit of fun.
The short–haired prisoner was pulled away. Mia spat at me and left with them. I leaned against the wall, slowly pushing myself up, my eyes burning with resentment as I watched them leave.
I swore I’d make them pay for every bit of torment they put me through–piece by piece.
“Heidi Tessford.”
The heavy metal door creaked open as a prison guard stepped in. “You have a visitor. Come with me.”

Confusion flickered through my mind. In my current situation, I had been abandoned by everyone. Who would want to see me?

“Indeed,” I replied, forcing a small smile. “I never expected you to visit me.”

She smirked, her voice light but calculated. “Don’t be like that. Maybe I can help. I know you want out, and I can convince the judge to release you. Prison life hasn’t been easy, has it?”
The mention of freedom made my heart race.
Every day behind the bars, I dreamed of getting out–of finding Caden, of telling him how much I loved him.
But I never expected Wendy to be the one offering me a way out.
Would she seriously help me?
I tensed, gripping the receiver tightly. “You’d help me? Since when were you so generous?”
Wendy’s expression didn’t waver. “Don’t look at me like that. I’m not completely heartless. Besides, I know what you want. Putting aside our history with Caden, we share a common enemy. And you know what they say–the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
Her words struck a chord in me.
She was right. We both disliked Rosaline. Nothing would make me happier than tearing that woman apart.
I studied Wendy carefully. “What do you want?”
I had already made up my mind. No matter what she asked, as long as it meant getting out, I was in. The sooner, the better.

Yura’s POV:
At the hospital, Hughie had been treating Ryan with the witch’s stone. Whenever I had a free moment, I went to check on him.
I cleaned Ryan’s hands, feet, and body while discussing his condition with Hughie.
“The bruising on his head is nearly gone, but whether he wakes up depends on tomorrow. Witch’s stone works wonders, but it’s not a miracle cure. I’ve done all I can,” Hughie told me when I entered the ward.

Hearing that Ryan’s injuries had healed gave me hope. At least now, there was a chance he’d wake up. That was better than just waiting.
Hughie put the witch’s stone away and left. I walked over to the window and sat down, gently taking Ryan’s hand, which rested by the bedside. My voice was soft as I called out to him.

I had been unconscious for so long. Had she been worrying about me? She looked thinner and more exhausted than before.
I wanted to reach out and touch Yura’s face, but my arm was too weak. I could only brush her cheek before my strength gave out.
She shifted slightly, stirring from sleep. Slowly, her eyes opened and locked onto mine.
I managed a weak smile.
She froze for a second, her expression full of disbelief. Rubbing her eyes as if to confirm what she was seeing, she then broke into a smile of surprise.
“Ryan… Ryan! You’re finally awake. This is amazing…”
Yura was so overwhelmed that her eyes turned red, her voice trembling as unshed tears glistened. She quickly covered her mouth, trying to hold back her emotions.

With no other choice, I softened my voice. “Yura, I’m sorry. I … I made you worry. But I’m okay now, so please don’t cry. You look like you’ve lost a lot of weight.”
Yura quickly wiped her face, and I couldn’t help but smile.
Even though I had been unconscious for so long, I wasn’t entirely unaware. Sometimes, I could still hear what was happening around me. I just couldn’t wake up.

I didn’t notice when my mother walked in, and the soup she was holding in her hand spilled out because she saw me wake up. As if she couldn’t believe her eyes, she hurried to my bedside and grasped my hand tightly.
“Mom, I’m awake.” I nodded at the woman who had been worrying about me this whole time.
Tears welled up in her eyes, and before I knew it, she was sobbing uncontrollably.
“You, you foolish child. You scared me half to death.” She sniffled between words, but as she calmed down, a relieved smile broke through her tears. “Alright, alright, it’s fine now. As long as you’re awake, everything is fine.”
Just as she finished speaking, Celia arrived as well. The moment she saw me sitting up, her face lit pure joy.

“Ryan! Ryan, you’re awake! Oh, thank goodness. This is wonderful; it’s great that you’re awake! Now that you’re awake, my daughter can finally catch a break. You have no idea how much she’s been running around for you these past few days, even you …
“I know, Celia. Yura’s been through a lot because of me these past few days. I truly appreciate it,” I said with a smile.
I understood the underlying meaning in her words. Even when I was unconscious, I had overheard the arguments between the two pack Luna regarding Yura’s efforts to care for me. I also knew that because of Yura’s unwavering dedication, my mother, who had initially been hesitant about accepting her, had started to change her opinion. That was the second happiest thing about waking up.
Noticing my expression, Celia couldn’t hide the hint of satisfaction in her eyes.
As we were talking, Yura’s phone suddenly buzzed in her pocket.
Yura’s POV:
I pulled my phone out and frowned. The number on the screen was unfamiliar.
Feeling a little uneasy, I stepped out of the hospital room and answered the call. “Hello? Who is this?”
Silence. The only thing I could hear was steady, rhythmic breathing on the other end. My grip on the phone instinctively tightened. “Is it you?” I asked cautiously.
The caller was most likely Timothy.
After my question hung in the air for five long seconds the call ahruntly ended

I already knew. Lowering my hand, I felt an overwhelming sense of powerlessness wash over me. So much time had passed, yet at this moment, I realized that I still missed Timothy very much.
I turned my head slightly, glancing toward the hospital room’s door. It felt as though a massive stone was pressing against my chest, making it impossible to breathe and talk.
After a few more seconds of stillness, I turned around and pushed the door into the ward, then returned to the bed and sat.
Ryan looked up as I approached. Instinctively, he reached for my hand and asked gently, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. It’s just a telemarketer. She kept talking for too long. I’m a little tired, that’s all.”
Ryan studied my face for a moment before nodding, seemingly accepting my explanation. He gave my hand a gentle squeeze. “You’ve been working too hard these days while being pregnant. You should take it easy and get some rest.”
“I’m fine.” I shook my head, holding on to show a smile, and sat beside Ryan to accompany him.
However, no matter how much I tried to focus on Ryan during the next few days, my thoughts kept drifting elsewhere.
Was he doing okay now?
Ever since Ryan regained consciousness, I had been visiting the hospital almost every day. His mother’s attitude toward me had softened, though she still wasn’t exactly warm, at least she no longer treated me with outright hostility. We could have a proper conversation now.
“Alright, his condition is stable now. The fact that he woke up so quickly just proves this kid has some serious luck on his side. He’ll need another two days of IV fluids to regain some strength, but after that, he can be discharged. Just make sure he doesn’t overexert himself afterward,” Hughie said after a routine session of spiritual stone therapy. Seeing that he had returned to normal, the doctor let out a relieved.
chuckle.
I nodded repeatedly in understanding. Ryan, however, looked a little sheepish and spoke, “I know. I’ll be careful. Thank you, Dr. Watts. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me.”
Hughie gave him a look. “If you appreciate it, then the two of you should stop putting yourselves through all this unnecessary trouble.” His words carried a weight that neither Ryan nor I could refute. We exchanged glances and chose not to argue.
Three days later, after the doctor confirmed that Ryan was recovering well with no major complications, I went ahead and handled the discharge procedures. Yet, the instant we walked out of the hospital, I realized I had miscalculated the situation. A throng of reporters and cameras waited outside, as did some fans.
As soon as the reporters who were surrounded outside saw us coming out, they immediately surrounded us like a swarm. Various questions emerged in an endless stream, but they were more aimed at me.
“Ms. Yura, rumor has it that Ryan’s accident was because of you. Is that true?”

The questions were getting more and more pointed and aggressive. When I came out, I hadn’t expected anything like this at all, and for a moment, I didn’t even know how to respond.
As if things weren’t bad enough, a fan, consumed by rage, appeared and threw an egg. Her voice filled with venom as she shouted, “You’re to blame! Ryan’s hospitalization and missed shoot are your fault. Do you even comprehend the financial damage you’ve caused him?”
Her words immediately stirred the crowd. The fans reacted strongly, with a sense that the situation might spiral out of control. The werewolf bodyguards at the hospital entrance quickly stepped in to restore order, preventing them from causing a scene in front of the hospital.
Ryan’s frown deepened when he saw the egg on me. He quickly asked a bodyguard for tissues to help clean me up. Irritated, he then stepped forward, addressing his fans. “I know you’re concerned about me and my work, but blaming her is unacceptable. Our airport proposal was genuine. I care deeply for her, and we’re planning to marry. If you truly support me, you’ll respect my choices and the people I love. Hurting an innocent person in my name is something I can’t tolerate.”
The power of an idol is undeniable,
After hearing Ryan say that, the once–agitated fans gradually calmed down. Even the young werewolf girl who had thrown the egg hesitated for a while before finally walking over to us. She stood awkwardly in front of me, hesitating for quite some time before muttering, “I’m sorry.”
I hadn’t expected Ryan to stand up for me like that, nor did I expect his fans to apologize. I paused momentarily, then gave a small smile and shook my head. “I’m fine. Don’t worry about it.”
Seeing the tension die down, Ryan turned to me and smiled, gripping my hand tightly. “Let’s go.”
Several werewolf bodyguards escorted Ryan and me away. I glanced at him instinctively, and a soft warmth spread in my heart.
Celia’s POV:
Ryan’s father, the Alpha of the Galehowl Pack, arrived the day after Ryan woke up.
In our hotel room, I filled my husband in on everything that had happened with Zera. “I can’t stop thinking about Yura and how she’s doing with the Storm Pack. She’s always been so protected in Galehowl. We’ve never even scolded her. And now, Ryan’s mother, despite being a Luna, is giving her the cold shoulder. It’s like Yura’s done something terrible to her son. It’s infuriating!”
My husband’s expression darkened, though as the Alpha of Galehowl Pack, he was naturally more composed than I. He furrowed his brow and asked seriously, “Are you sure about that? I thought Ryan had already woken up.”
“He has … ” I sighed. “It’s only after he regained consciousness that his mother started being a little nicer to our Yura. Otherwise, I can’t even imagine how much more she’d have had to endure.”
He said in a low voice, “No matter what, Yura is the heir to the Galehowl Pack. They can’t just use that as an excuse to mistreat her.”
A moment later, there was a sudden knock at the door.

His arrival was, in fact, a welcome occurrence, particularly when compared to his wife’s apparent lack of appropriate behavior.
“This is the Alpha of the Storm Pack—Ryan’s father,” I said softly to my husband as I stood up. Then I smiled at Sebastian and greeted him. “Mr. Lindsay, what brings you here? Is Ryan feeling better? I was going to visit today, but I had to come pick up my husband first, so I haven’t had the chance yet.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Alpha of Galehowl Pack,” Sebastian said, turning his attention to my husband. As they shook hands, both Alphas released their auras, acknowledging each other as equals.
My husband responded simply. “Nice to meet you,” accompanied by a slight smile and nod. In contrast to Sebastian’s warmth, he maintained a calm and collected composure.
Sebastian explained, “I understand Yura booked your accommodations. With Ryan now conscious, I propose we all gather at the Storm Pack for a meal. We can also use this time to talk about their engagement.”
After a brief glance with my husband, Sebastian continued, his smile still present. “I must apologize for my wife’s actions; they were inappropriate. She was merely worried for Ryan. As Alpha and Luna of Galehow! Pack, I hope you understand and don’t take it personally. Yura, herself, is a delightful young woman, and I hold her in high regard.”
“I see. That’s good to hear,” I replied, looking to my husband again. After he gave me a subtle nod of approval, I turned to Sebastian and agreed.
Relieved, Sebastian let out a warm smile. “Since you both are willing, why don’t we head back now? Ryan told me he stayed with Yura at your place, and he’s been missing you two.”

Yura’s POV:
As the dinner began, facing the four elders, a wave of anxiety washed over me.
The atmosphere felt tense, almost like two rival packs about to duel.

“The food is ready, and Marvin just got off the plane. He must be hungry, right? Try some of our cooking and see if you like it,” Sebastian said with a smile, breaking the tension and giving me a slight reprieve.
Everyone started picking up their forks and serving themselves. I glanced at Ryan for support, whispering, “Why am I so nervous?”
I knew this dinner was to discuss our marriage–Sebastian had given me a heads–up–but seeing my parents so serious made me even more anxious.
Ryan glanced at the elders, lightly squeezed my hand under the table, and signaled me to relax. “It’s going to be fine, don’t worry.”
After a while, Sebastian cleared his throat and started in a measured tone, “The reason we invited you over for dinner is to discuss the kids‘ marriage. Considering Ryan’s recovery and Yura’s pregnancy, prolonging this isn’t good for either of our packs, right?”
I lowered my eyes. Although I knew this day would come, it felt surreal.
“I understand,” Dad said, setting his fork down and wiping his mouth with a napkin. “Sebastian, you know we cherish Yura dearly. What happened was unexpected, but we believe Ryan is a good man. If we’re discussing marriage, Celia and I are reassured about leaving Yura in his care.
“But I have one condition.” Dad looked up, his eyes serious. “Ryan and your family must treat Yura with the same love and care as we have. She’s not to endure any suffering in the Storm Pack.”
Zera, sitting beside Sebastian, visibly frowned. I felt overwhelmed with gratitude toward Dad; his words were full of care and protection, spoken directly to Ryan and his parents.
“Of course, we understand. Every parent worries for their child. Yura has shown immense care for Ryan. You can rest assured; our Storm Pack is prominent in Rivemon. We’ll arrange the marriage properly, ensuring Yura will be well taken care of,” Sebastian responded.
“That’s reassuring,” Dad said, falling silent thereafter.
“Marvin, you can’t ignore the fact that if it weren’t for Yura, Ryan wouldn’t have had the accident in the first place. Even though Ryan’s fine now …” Zera suddenly interjected.
“Mom-” Ryan cut in sharply, looking at Zera with a worried expression.
“Zera, how can you say that? Yura was devastated by the incident. If it weren’t for her finding Dr. Watts—” my mom retorted heatedly, hearing Zera’s accusation.
“Mom, stop…” I intervened, fearing that mom’s temper might escalate things further.
“Enough.” Dad said firmly. placing his hand on Mom’s arm.

Zera clicked her tongue in frustration but, seeing Ryan’s reaction, reluctantly agreed, “Fine. I promise to treat Yura like my own daughter if she marries Ryan. If not, you can take her back anytime.”
Hearing Zera’s assurance, the other elders had no further objections. The matter of our engagement was finally settled.
I sighed in relief. Despite the tension, at least there was no major conflict.
Ryan suddenly squeezed my hand tightly, and his eyes met mine, filled with tears of joy.

Rosaline’s POV:

With only a few days left before the fashion design competition officially started, Caden and I stayed in Fostrau, often going out for inspiration. I needed to produce several design drafts; after all, I couldn’t just rely on one outfit for the competition.
“Rosaline, how about I introduce you to someone tomorrow?” Caden suggested.
“Who?” I asked.
We were lying side by side on the bed, having just come back from outside. Hearing my question, Caden turned to me with a smile. “He’s an old friend I met here, a duke from the Fostrau Royal Wolf Clan. He’s a good guy, well–spoken. I think you’ll like him.”
“Sure,” I agreed.
The next day at noon, Caden took me out as promised. We drove to a mansion in the upscale district in Phoshire. Caden exchanged a few words in Fostrauean with the werewolf guard at the gate, who smiled and
let us in.
As the gate opened, I followed Caden into the living room. It was nothing like I had imagined. Instead of opulence, it was stylish with a simple black, white, and gray color scheme, accented with cozy, unique touches that made the space feel warm and lively.
“Oh, Caden! We meet again.” A casually dressed werewolf greeted us, coming down from the second floor. Approaching his 50s, he carried himself with the fit physique and commanding presence of an Alpha.
Clearly, this had to be the duke Caden wanted me to meet from the Royal Wolf Clan.
The Royal Wolf Clan is a prestigious family in Fostrau, ruling 30 werewolf packs. This duke, Gerald Daffron, leads the most powerful pack among them.
Fostrauean werewolf leadership is hereditary, and since Duke Gerald ranks first among the 30 Alphas, he’s likely to become the ruler of all Fostrau’s werewolves soon. In Fostrau, this duke holds unparalleled power.
Gerald descended the stairs and embraced Caden warmly. After they parted, he noticed me and his eyes lit up with curiosity and amusement. “Caden, who is this lovely lady? The last time you visited, you weren’t accompanied by such a beautiful girl.”
I lowered my eyes and smiled bashfully. Caden, obviously proud, didn’t hide his smile and naturally took my hand.
“This is Rosaline Sinclair, the future Luna of the Eclipse Pack,” Caden introduced me, then turned to Gerald. “And this is my good friend from Fostrau, the next–in–line Alpha of the Royal Wolf Clan, Duke Gerald Daffron.”
I nodded, greeting Gerald, and we settled into the living room to chat. As we were talking, the door suddenly burst open, and a fashionably dressed young werewolf girl ran in.
“Dad!” she started, then noticed the two of us. Seeing me, she paused, then exclaimed joyfully, “Rosaline! It’s been so long! What brings you here today?”

I was equally delighted. “It’s you! It’s been ages!”
Caden looked puzzled. “Who is this?”
Gerald chuckled. “This is my daughter, Michelle. If I become the ruler of Fostrau’s werewolves, she’ll be the princess.”
I explained, “We met a few times when I ran my studio. We got along well and became friends, but I had no idea she was a future princess! Michelle, you never told me.”
“I’m not officially one yet, Rosaline. It’s so good to see you.” Michelle ran over to me, clearly excited.
I took Michelle’s hand, ready to catch up, but she kept glancing at Caden.
“Rosaline, is this your friend?” Michelle asked, still staring at Caden.
I shook my head. “He’s my fiancé, Caden Holbrook.”
“Fiancé … ” Michelle repeated, her smile fading slightly. I didn’t miss it.
“Dad, I’m a bit tired after just getting back. I think I’ll go rest upstairs,” Michelle said, managing her emotions.
Gerald nodded, and she left without saying goodbye to me. Watching her go, I realized she was likely smitten with Caden.
Caden and Gerald didn’t notice Michelle’s state. The three of us chatted a bit more until evening fell. Gerald glanced at the clock, suggesting, “Caden, this is the first time you’ve brought your fiancée to visit. It’s nearly dinner time. How about I host a dinner party to welcome you both?”
“Ah… that won’t be necessary. We have food at home, and it’s been a long day. I’m feeling a bit tired and would prefer to head back,” I politely declined, remembering Michelle’s earlier reactions.
Caden looked concerned. “Are you alright? Feeling unwell?”
“No, just a bit sleepy. Let’s go home,” I reassured him.
This Caden, did he really not notice anything at all?

From the time we left Gerald’s mansion until we got back home, I couldn’t shake off my gloom over Michelle.
Caden noticed my mood and, while driving, glanced at me several times with concern. “What’s wrong? Ever since we left, you’ve been acting so strange. Is something bothering you?”
“Let’s talk about it when we get home.” I shook my head. I was just feeling uneasy, but I knew throwing a fit now wouldn’t help.
Once at home, we hung up our coats, and I plopped down on the couch, taking a sip of water.
Caden sat beside me, naturally wrapping his arm around my shoulders. Smiling, he said, “Alright, now can you tell me what’s got you so upset?”
“I think… “I hesitated, placing my glass on the table and locking eyes with him. “I think Michelle likes you.”
“Huh?” Caden let out a puzzled sound. “What makes you think she likes me?”
I was taken aback by his question, but I clearly remembered the look in Michelle’s eyes. A woman’s intuition is always sharp.
“Didn’t you notice how her gaze changed when I mentioned you were my fiancé? Be honest, do you like her?”
Normally, I’m the picture of calm, but knowing that my fiancé had caught the eye of a future princess of Fostrau made me a little jealous.
Caden was stunned for a moment, then he broke into a gentle laugh, his eyes filled with tenderness.
“What are you thinking?” he said softly, giving my nose a playful tweak. “I’ve been focused on you this whole time. When would I have had time to notice anyone else? Besides, today was the first time I met her. We only exchanged a few words, and you heard all of it.”
I pulled away from his embrace, sitting up straight. His words were like honey to my heart.
“Fine, I’ll believe you for now. But listen, we’re going to be here in Fostrau for a while. Don’t you dare sneak off to see her, got it?”
Caden chuckled, shaking his head as he raised his hands in surrender. “I swear, I’ve been wronged. My heart belongs to you alone. Honestly, I can’t even remember what Michelle looks like. Alright, I promise I won’t contact her, okay?”
His antics finally made me burst into laughter. We fooled around a bit, and before we knew it, the day had flown by.
At eight o’clock the next morning, I was already up. When Caden walked out of the bedroom and saw me in the living room, he was surprised.
“You’re up early today. Why don’t you get some more sleep?”
“No.” I shook my head. locking my phone and shrugging at him. “I just remembered that I haven’t checked

Caden nodded in understanding.
When I arrived at Loe Studio, a wave of nostalgia hit me. Yura had started this place for me, even naming it after my design alias. Since Yura had gone to Rivemon, the studio’s management had been left to others.
I wondered if it still felt the same…
I walked inside briskly and took the elevator to the main office of the design department. Politely, I knocked on the door.
The sound caught the attention of a blonde werewolf woman at the desk, engrossed in drawing. When she turned and saw me, her face lit up with a joyful smile. She rushed over to give me a warm hug. “Rosaline, you’re back! I’ve missed you so much!”
Her face was dotted with a few small freckles, and her eyes curved like crescent moons when she smiled, making her incredibly charming.
I laughed happily, returning her hug and giving her a gentle pat on the back. “I’m back, Camilla. How is it that after all this time, you’re still like a little kid? It makes me worry about how well you’ve been managing the studio.”
Camilla, the werewolf girl in question, had taken over studio management after Yura left. She had a passion for design and had grown quite skilled.
Hearing my playful scolding, Camilla pouted, clearly unhappy. “Hey, come on. Ever since you and Yura left, I’ve been running this place. I even hired two great designers! And when did you come back? Are you staying this time?”
Camilla tended to chatter like a little bird when she was excited. Being familiar with her, I merely smiled, not saying much.
I followed her inside and sat on a chair next to her workstation. “I’m here for a fashion design competition,” I explained. “It’s been a while since I checked in, so I thought I’d drop by. After the competition, I’ll be heading back to Rivemon, so I’m counting on you to keep things running smoothly.”

“Oh….” Upon hearing that, Camilla’s expression drooped, and she propped her chin up with her hand, looking utterly dejected. “Why are you leaving again so soon? I thought you came back this time to continue being the backbone of the design studio. After you and Yura left, we have really missed you.”
“I missed you all too… Well, but speaking of which, youve really changed a lot.” I looked at Camilla with an approving expression.
Camilla laughed and patted her chest in a mock–serious manner. “This is what they call… Well, a lot can change in a short time.”
As we reminisced about our former colleagues at the design studio, they started trickling back in from outside. The moment they saw me, without exception, their faces lit up with surprise and excitement. In no time, they gathered around, bombarding me with questions–how I’d been, where I was living, and when I planned to return.
I patiently answered each of them, one by one. Camilla finally found an opening and grabbed my arm. “Oh, right! I believe you mentioned returning for a design competition, correct? Have you finished your designs and outfits?”
“Oh…” I mused. “The design drafts are done, and I’ve revised them a few times, so there shouldn’t be any major issues. But I also came back to see if the studio has any good materials or other sketches I can use for fine details. As for the actual outfits … I can get them done in the next few days, but that means I’ll probably be bothering you all a lot.”
I grinned and added a polite remark. It was only with these friends—and Caden–that I could truly relax.
“Oh, come on! There’s no need to be so polite with us. This studio was originally yours and Yura’s, after all. If anything, you’re still the boss.”
“Exactly! Loe, when did you begin to feel distant from us? We’d love for you to drop by every day. Honestly, we wish you’d just stay and work with us again instead of going back to Rivemon.”
Everyone chimed in, offering words of encouragement mixed with playful complaints and jokes. Seeing them like this, I couldn’t help but smile from the bottom of my heart.
No matter what, only true friends will always treat you with kindness.
“Oh, by the way, Camilla,” I turned to her and said, “once I finalize the outfits, I’ll need you to submit them for the competition. I’ll tell you the exact deadline tomorrow, just so you don’t forget.”
Camilla snapped her fingers with a confident grin. “Leave it to me! I used to be the one delivering our designs for competitions all the time. There’s no way I’d forget something like this!”
I nodded and smiled at my colleagues. “Alright, alright. Back to work, everyone.”
Half an hour later, I told Camilla that I was heading out. But just as I stepped out of the office, I unexpectedly caught sight of a familiar figure by the door.

“Oh, I got bored being alone, so I quit my job. Wasn’t happy there anyway. I decided to travel abroad. I heard this design studio makes great clothes, so I came to check it out. I wanted one of their designers to create a gown for me. Who doesn’t want a beautiful dress, right?”
She tilted her head, looking curious. “What about you? What are you doing here?”
I let out a quiet breath. I had no idea what Candice was scheming, but if I wanted to find out, I couldn’t give myself away too soon.
“Oh, I’m just here visiting a friend. She’s an intern at the studio, so I stopped by to check on her.”
“I see
Candice nodded thoughtfully, but she quickly perked up again, flashing me a smile. “You know, we keep running into each other like this. How about grabbing lunch together? It’s on me.”
If someone was naturally warm and friendly, it wouldn’t be unusual. But for someone to be this persistent toward a casual acquaintance, it was suspicious.
Especially if that person was Candice.
I considered it for a moment. Truthfully, I wanted to know what she was really up to.
But I shook my head and politely declined. “No need. I just stopped by on my way somewhere else, and I have some urgent matters to take care of. Maybe another time?”
“Oh, I see. Alright then.” Candice nodded, looking regretful.
I didn’t actually leave. The moment I stepped out the door, I turned right back around–just in time to see Candice walking into the studio. I pulled out my phone stepped farther away, and sent Camilla a message.
“Watch out for someone who requests a custom gown. She calls herself Anna–she’s my rival. Don’t tip her off, got it?”
“Got it!”
