Chapter 361 Alpha Wakes
Queenie’s POV:

Fury coursed through me as I stormed out of the hospital. My fists clenched, heart pounding. The moment I stepped inside the house, my patience shattered. “Aunt Eleanor!” I snapped, my voice sharp. “That Omega, Rosaline, is at it again–sneaking her way back into my Caden’s life! She’s convinced him to re–engage with herl
Aunt Eleanor froze, her eyes wide in disbelief. “What?”
I stormed forward, my rage boiling over.
“We can’t waste any more time, Aunt Eleanor! If we let is go on, she’ll marry Caden, and become the Luna of the Eclipse Pack. That means there’s no room left for me!”
The thought of Rosaline by Caden’s side, taking what was mine, sent a wave of jealousy crashing over me.
Caden’s tenderness, his care for her–it burned me like fire.
The Eclipse Pack’s leadership should’ve been mine.
-Rosaline–that shameless Omega–had no claim to Caden’s heart.
I leaned closer, my voice a cold whisper. “If she becomes Luna, we won’t have a life left. We’ll be nothing.”
Aunt Eleanor’s expression hardened, her voice cutting through the air. “Don’t worry, Queenie. I won’t let that Omega into our home.”
I lowered my voice, moving closer to her. “I think we should follow Donny’s suggestion. We’ve kept our tracks clean so far–not even Caden suspects anything
Aunt Eleanor thought for a moment, then nodded sharply. “Alright. We’ll do it your way.”
Triumph bubbled up in my chest. This time, Rosaline would be gone for good.
Aunt Eleanor’s gaze sharpened. “Call Donny, Queenie.
“Yes, Aunt Eleanor!” I replied, eager to act.
Stella, Candice, Wendy–none of them had succeeded in driving Rosaline away.
But this time, I would make sure it worked.
Rosaline, your days are numbered.

Caden simply nodded, his face betraying little emotion
I watched Heidi bustle around, arranging the food and leaning the room with practiced care
She moved like someone desperately trying to redeem herself for a past misstep
Then her eyes landed on the design sketches on my bedside table. For a split second, her face faltered- distaste flickered across her features. But it vanished as quickly as it came
She picked up the sketches, her smile tight. “Ms. Sinclair, is this your new collection? It’s beautiful.”
Her words were sweet, but I could hear the sharp edge beneath them.
The news of my re–engagement to Caden hadn’t reached Heidi. She was blissfully unaware
“Yes,” I said flatly, my gaze steady, “Caden and I are re–announcing our engagement. Leslie’s having the pack’s mid–rankers help us choose a good date.”
Heidi blinked, frozen for a moment.
But the second her eyes sharpened, I saw it–the envy, raw and unmistakable. It flashed across her face, not longer veiled.
A sly, mocking smile crept across my lips.
Of course. Heidi hadn’t changed.
Her redemption act was a thin veil, easily torn away.
Her mask of sweetness slipped. Quickly, she straightened, forcing a tight smile. “Well, congratulations to you both.
Her gaze flicked nervously to Caden. “Caden… um… could I come to the engagement party?”
“Do whatever you want,” Caden replied, indifferent. His voice was as calm as a breeze, barely a shift of his lips
Before Heidi could push further, a sharp knock on the door cut through the tension.
“Come in,” Caden called, his voice crisp and commanding.
The door opened. Dr. Williamson entered, a couple of nurses trailing behind him, their steps quick and urgent. But there was an unmistakable lightness in his voice. “Mr. Holbrook, the Alpha is awake!”
“Really? Caden’s face lit up, his entire posture shifting with the surge of excitement. Without hesitation, he leaped to his feet.
Heidi froze. Her eyes widened, disbelief and something darker flickering in her expression. aden… your leg… is it healed?”

Dr. Williamson followed closely, his voice cautious. “M Holbrook, the Alpha has opened his eyes, but he can’t speak or move just yet. We’ll need Ms. Sinclair to assess his condition further.”
“I’ll check on him,” I replied, my voice steady.
No matter how small the progress, Mr. Richard opening his eyes was a sign of hope.
Hughie had said the final treatment could only begin once Mr. Richard’s eyes opened.
Now it seemed we were on the verge.
Caden and I hurried to Richard’s room, the air thick with anticipation. He immediately took Richard’s hand, his voice gentle.
“Grandpa, how are you?” he asked, concern deep in every word.
Richard blinked, his body still, motionless.

Caden’s voice was tight with worry. “How is he?”
I studied Richard’s still form, my voice calm. “He’s recovering well. In three days, once his vitals stabilize, I’ll perform the final treatment. He’ll be back to your old self.”
Caden exhaled, a long, relieved breath escaping him.
Just then, the sharp sound of high heels echoed down the hallway. Heavy footsteps, deliberate, confident- coming straight for the door.
I looked up, eyes narrowing as Eleanor and Queenie approached.

Their motives were obvious.
They didn’t even try to hide it.

I turned to Caden, my patience wearing thin.
His face was hard, his eyes narrowing with an icy fury.
His gaze cut through the air, sharp and dangerous.
“Enough!” His voice was cold, slicing through the tension like a blade.
He locked eyes with Eleanor and Queenie, his fury simmering beneath his calm exterior. “Are you two done making a scene?”
Eleanor’s eyes widened, disbelief flashing across her face. “Caden, you’re yelling at me? For this… this Omega slut?*
Caden’s voice didn’t falter. “Mom, please leave. Don’t disturb Grandpa.”
Queenie took a step toward Eleanor, her expression sickeningly sweet as she linked her arm with hers.

Mom, standing close by, wasted no time. Her voice low but sharp, full of concern. “Caden, are you sure you want this Omega to treat your grandfather? If anything goes wrong, how will you face him? How will you face the pack?”
Around us, the elders exchanged looks, their faces etched with skepticism, doubt lining their eyes.
It was clear–none of them trusted Rosaline. And neither did Mom.
One elder, his voice dripping with suspicion, leaned in Even if you and Rosaline are… close, how can you be sure she’s capable of something like this?”
I stood still, my voice colder than the stone walls around us. “Then what would you suggest? Do any of you have a better plan?”
Their hunger for power was obvious.
The pack was vulnerable now, and many of them, I knew, were waiting for the moment my grandfather failed so they could pounce.
Before any of them could respond, Heidi appeared, stepping confidently toward my side, her presence cutting through the tension like a knife. “You trust Caden, don’t you?” she asked, her voice steady, almost comforting. “And you should trust Rosaline too. She’s promised us she’ll heal Alpha. She’s Dr. Watts apprentice–she knows what she’s doing. You can all relax.

The sterile air of the operating room hung heavy, as if had swallowed every breath. I stood over Richard, the witch’s stone clutched tightly in my hand, its weight pressing down on me. It felt as though the very fate of the Eclipse Pack rested on its smooth surface.
Dr. Williamson approached, his steps measured, offering a wordless help. I nodded, letting him place the stone carefully on Richard’s chest.
I took a slow, deliberate breath and drew a needle across my brow, the sharp sting a reminder of the gravity of the moment. The drop of blood was cold, its metallic scent biting the air. With a steady hand, I transferred it onto the stone, watching as it absorbed the blood like a living creature.
Dr. Williamson remained silent, his eyes fixed on my every move, his expression unreadable. That silence unsettled me, its weight more suffocating than any words could be.
This was it. The final treatment.
According to Hughie, after this, Richard’s blood would low freely again. The magic would stir within him, and he would rise.
The chant began low on my lips, a rhythm from the ancient words that filled the room with a somber -pulse.
As the incantation flowed, the blood on the witch’s stone began to shimmer, sinking into the stone’s surface.
It pulsed with a faint energy, and I felt it–deep, shifting, alive. The magic was awakening.
The heart monitor beeped in a steady, unchanging rhythm, a soft murmur in the still room.
His chest rose and fell, steady as always.
I circled his bed, continuing the chant. Each word woven deeper, stronger. The stone pulsed in time with the magic. When I reached the third round of the chant, a sharp, discordant beep echoed through the
room.
My heart skipped a beat. I turned, dread filling me as I saw the heart monitor. The steady lines had flattened into an unbroken, horizontal line.
Dr. Williamson’s voice broke the silence, quiet but shaking. “No… Richard has no pulse. No breath!”
Panic clawed at my chest. “How is that possible?” I demanded, my voice tight, my mind racing.
Dr. Williamson was already at the door, throwing it open, shouting for help.
But I knew. I knew it was too late.
“What happened?” I stood frozen, staring at the lifeless body, my breath catching. The room felt colder, the silence heavier.

Dr. Williamson trembled, wiping a nervous hand across his forehead. I’m sorry. Mr. Holbrook. I don’t understand… Everything seemed fine. Then… his heart just stopped. We couldn’t react in time.”
The nurses moved quickly, covering Richard’s body with a white sheet. They wheeled him out, leaving the room cold and quiet in their wake.
The elders and board members gathered outside exchanged uneasy glances. Their eyes darted toward Caden, waiting, expectant, as if they could already taste the shift in power.
Queenie and Eleanor stood to the side, their gazes fixed on Caden.
Heidi’s expression softened as she approached Caden, her voice low and comforting. “Caden, you need to look after yourself. Richard wouldn’t want to see you like this. Rosaline tried. No one could have foreseen this. Don’t place the blame on her…
The room fell into a suffocating silence. The air grew thick with tension. No one dared to speak, not even to breathe.
It was almost impossible to believe–Mr. Richard, the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack, the iron fist that had ruled the Werewolf Continent for nearly a century, was gone.
Caden, who had stood silently for what felt like an eternity, finally spoke. His eyes–cold, unforgiving- locked onto me. His words cut through the stillness. “Rosaline, you’ve truly disappointed me.”
I lowered my gaze, my voice barely a whisper. “I’m sorry. It’s my fault. I didn’t think… I never meant for this to happen.”
“Rosaline, this is all on you. If you hadn’t tried to save Grandpa, he might still be here. But now… now he’s dead because of you. You’re a killer!” Queenie’s voice was sharp, full of venom. “You selfish Omega! You’re nothing but a curse!”
“Remember that engagement fiasco?” Queenie spat, her face contorted with fury. “You humiliated us all ar the banquet, and Grandpa had a heart attack right after. Now look–the Alpha’s dead, too. You’ve done it again, haven’t you? This was no accident!”
Eleanor’s fury knew no bounds. She started complaining to Caden, “I told you she’s a no–good Omega. You can’t count on her for anything. That quack doctor only saved the Alpha through chance. They’re nothing but witch doctors. Now look at what they did!”

I hadn’t anticipated this–this Omega, this wretched woman, had killed the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack. The realization felt like an unexpected gift.
The Moon Goddess must have smiled upon me.
Now, how would Rosaline ever face Caden again!
A voice broke my thoughts. “Mr. Holbrook,” it said, sharp as a blade. “You and your mother must find the strength to bear this sorrow”
As Richard’s body was wheeled away, the elders and board members of the Eclipse Pack gathered around Caden and Eleanor. Their condolences were well rehearsed, but something in the air was wrong
Dr. Williamson’s announcement of Richard’s death had barely settled when I noticed it–there was a flicker in Eleanor and Queenie’s eyes. A glimmer of… relief? No, it couldn’t be.
They hated Rosaline. But Mr. Richard had been family. How could they not be curious?
How could they not demand justice for him?
But instead, they seemed… almost pleased.
Something was deeply off.
A thought gnawed at me, and I glanced toward Caden. He stood off to the side, his face as closed off as stone, his eyes distant, hollow.
Leslie moved to his side, her concern clear. “Mr. Caden she said gently. “You don’t look well. You should rest. I’ll see to the Alpha’s body, arrange for the morgue, contact the best funeral home. You need to take care of yourself. You can’t afford to break down now.”

Only Aunt Eleanor and I lingered in the sterile hallway the soft hum of the hospital’s fluorescent lights filling the silence.
“That damn Omega, Aunt Eleanor snarled, her words sharp and venomous. “Rosaline–she just can’t stop causing trouble, can she? Even taken away, she poisons everything. She’s ruined my relationship with my son. And now she’s in prison? I swear, she’ll regret it. I make sure of it.”
Her face, meticulously maintained with years of care, contorted into a grimace of pure rage. Her fingers clutched her phone like a weapon, poised to make some call to the werewolf police, to ensure Rosaline’s time behind bars would be as miserable as possible.
“Aunt Eleanor.” I stepped forward, placing my hand gently over hers. “This isn’t the time. We can’t focus on that right now. We’ve got bigger problems.”
I glanced around quickly, checking the hallway. Empty, I leaned in closer, lowering my voice to a whisper. “You’ve got to stop pushing Caden about Grandpa’s body. He’s too sharp, you know? He’ll pick up on it.”
Aunt Eleanor’s eyes widened in shock. “You think he’ll notice?”
“Of course he will! Caden’s known us for years. He’s not stupid. If he starts asking questions about the poison, and it leads back to us “I shuddered. “We’re finished.”
I squeezed her arm tightly, my heart pounding. The sins we’d already committed played out in my mind like a gruesome parade..
If Caden ever figured it out… No matter that she was his mother, he wouldn’t hesitate to lock her away. As for me? I was nothing more than a nameless cousin in his eyes. I’d be lucky if I escaped alive.
“What are we going to do?” Aunt Eleanor’s voice trembled, her panic unmistakable as she stared at me.

Once the door was closed, and I confirmed no one was near, I exhaled slowly, finally speaking again. “Aunt Eleanor, this is the only option we have. She understood the gravity of the matter. She knew–etter than anyone–that if Caden found out about the poisoning, there’d be no escape for either of us.
Later that night, I slipped out of the hospital, my mind till racing. I met Donny at a quiet restaurant nearby.
Inside, the staff, well–acquainted with me, led me to a private booth in the back, where I could collect my thoughts before whatever came next.
Donny watched as I entered, his smile a mask of polished deceit. He poured me a cup of hot tea, each motion deliberate, as if savoring the moment
“I’ve heard,” he said, his voice smooth, syrupy. “You handled it beautifully. No wonder I always stumbled before. Caden and Mr. Richard never saw it coming–meone so close to him turning against him like that.”
The mockery was thick in his words, hanging in the air like smoke.
1 gripped the teacup tighter, my voice cold and barely controlled. “Don’t get too cocky. Before they hauled Rosaline away, she told Caden to perform an autopsy on Mr. Richard’s body. If they find out he was poisoned, we’re done for.”
I expected some sign of panic, some crack in his calm façade. Instead, Donny sipped his tea as if nothing had changed, his composure unshaken. (And? What’s the big deal? You’re the one who poisoned him, not

My heart skipped. “You’re throwing me to the wolves? Don’t forget, you were the one who gave me the poison. If they come for me, I’ll tell Caden everything!
Donny’s sneer was chilling. “Good luck with that. Do you have any proof that I gave it to you?”
A cold rush flooded through me, panic edging my thoughts.
I stared at him, at the calm malevolence in his eyes. I realized then: there were no cameras. Not a single one in the room.
Every trace of our dealings had been wiped away, scrubbed clean.
He’d set this trap long ago.
He’d played me. Feigned partnership, guided me step by step toward this abyss–and now that he’d used me, he was discarding me.
He rose slowly, his suit sharp enough to cut glass. Donny’s cold smile never wavered. I’ve erased every piece of evidence. Caden won’t find a thing, no matter what you say. So, think carefully. How will you keep him from discovering the truth?”
Without another word, Donny turned and walked out, leaving me alone in the dim, silent room..
I stood frozen, my arms wrapped tightly around myself as the weight of his words settled in.
A crushing wave of dread swept over me as if darkness were closing in, threatening to swalle me whole.
My mind drifted back–back to Caden and Rosaline’s engagement party, months ago. I had watched them, jealousy coiling tight in my chest. They were so happy, so in love.

By some twisted stroke of luck, Aunt Eleanor stood by me. She didn’t hesitate going even further- deciding that the Alpha had to die.

“Are we really doing this?” Aunt Eleanor asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Her fingers tightened around mine.
The stench of death hung heavy in the air. Above us, a flickering green sign read “Emergency Exit” cast an eerie glow. Behind that dark door, I knew, lay the bodies of werewolves–frozen, silent, forgotten.
Aunt Eleanor shuddered, the weight of her years of comfort and luxury crushing her now. She wasn’t made for this.
But I was. The fear of discovery was a far worse fate than whatever haunted this place.
“Quiet, I hissed, tugging her forward. “We can’t be seen. No noise.”
We crept closer to the morgue door. The cold hit us like a slap when we entered. It was a biting unnatural chill, as though the air itself was mourning
Aunt Eleanor reached for the light switch, but I stopped her, panic rising in my chest. “No. If you turn it on, they’ll see us.”
I pressed a flashlight into her shaking hands. We moved together, the beam of light cutting unrough the suffocating darkness.

“Which one is Mr. Richard?” Aunt Eleanor’s voice cracked as she clutched the flashlight, her gaze darting nervously.
I bit back a snarl. ‘Aunt Eleanor, we’ve come this far. There’s no turning back now.”
I scanned the rows of metal drawers. It only took a moment before I found it.
Grabbing her arm. I yanked her toward the third row, second column. “Here. His hospital number’s on the label. This is the one. Let’s move.”
“Got it. She nodded, the flashlight trembling in her hand as I pried open the cold metal door.
The slab slid out with a heavy, metallic screech.
But when I looked down, the space was empty.
My blood ran cold. My mind went blank.
“What… what’s going on?” Aunt Eleanor’s voice trembled as she gripped the flashlight, her breath unsteady. She leaned closer, eyes widening in disbelief
The cold hard truth met us. The body of the Eclipse Pack Alpha was nowhere to be found.
“What’s happening? I thought he died. Have we been played?”
Her voice was thin, quivering with rising panic. She was shaking with fear.
I clenched my jaw, forcing myself to stay composed. ‘No. Grandpa can’t be alive. If he was, why would Caden be this furious? He wouldn’t have broken up with Rosaline, and he sure as hell wouldn’t have let that werewolf cop take her.”
As our minds spun in confusion, a sudden rustling noise came from behind us..
We turned, hearts pounding. And there it was. The covered body on the other cot. It moved.
The sheet slipped off, revealing Richard’s pale, sickly face. His features were almost ghostly, like death had claimed him long ago.
“AHH!!!”
Aunt Eleanor and I froze, terror seizing us. Our faces drained of color as we screamed, scrambling into the
corner.
What in all the hells was happening?
Was this some kind of ghost?
“R–Richard… I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you. Please don’t come for me I’m Caden’s mom Please, don’t take me…. Aunt Eleanor had dropped the flashlight, her hands desperately clamping over her eyes, too terrified to even glance at the Alpha, now sitting up like something out of a nightmare.

Then, a voice–a cold, chilling voice–cut through the air. “You two poisoned me, killed me, and shoved the blame all on Rosaline. Now you think you can steal my body and cover up your mess?”
Aunt Eleanor and I collapsed to the floor, huddled together, too terrified to move.
I shuddered, my teeth chattering. I glanced at Aunt Eleanor. She stared at Richard with wide, blank eyes, her body shaking. She nodded, but there was nothing convincing in her motions.
“We
we didn’t mean to. We were forced to, Grandpa whispered, my heart sinking. I wished I could vanish, slip into the ground–anything to escape this nightmare.
“Forced“?” Richard scoffed, the contempt clear in his tone. “Eleanor is Caden’s own mother, and you’re his cousin! Who in the hell could force you to do anything Queenie, you’ve got a lot of nerve making up kind of lie.”
I froze. His words hit like a slap.
Grandpa never called me by name. He never said Caden’s full name either. And now… now this.
A sick realization bloomed in my chest.
Something was horribly wrong.
This wasn’t Mr. Richard.
If he had truly come back from the dead, he wouldn’t be sitting there like everything was normal.
Rage surged within me, eclipsing my fear. I stood up, fury burning in my veins. I pointed at the figure

I sneered, my eyes narrowing as I glared at the figure lying on the cot. “So, you’ve been caught. Drop the act. Who the hell are you? What’s your angle here?”
A low chuckle echoed from the figure, soft and mocking. “Aw, I thought I could have more fun.”
The voice, once rough and frail, suddenly shifted-high–pitched, sweet, and all too familiar.
It hit me like a slap to the face.
Rosaline.
In one smooth movement, Mr. Richard‘ sprang from the cot, tearing off the white cloth like it was nothing more than a mask.
Beneath it was no old Alpha, but Rosaline’s cold, smirking face.
The fury inside me flared. My hands trembled with rage. “Rosaline! You conniving little Omega bitch! You really thought you could fool me?”

The morgue, once drowned in darkness, was suddenly Dooded with blinding light.
Both Aunt Eleanor and I squinted against the assault of the harsh glow searing into our eyes.
The door to the morgue creaked open, and there, pushing Richard in a wheelchair, was Caden.
The Alpha… wasn’t dead!!!
We locked eyes, and panic jolted through me, mirrored in Aunt Eleanor’s gaze.
We rushed forward, plastering fake smiles of relief across our faces as if we hadn’t just been caught trying to cover up murder.

His gaze, once full of strength and command, was now filled with nothing but disappointment. I thought you were my family, part of the Eclipse Park. Even if you were weak, I thought I’d never wrong you. I thought I treated you with nothing but kindness. But all I’ve received from you is betrayal. The worst kind of betrayal.
“Grandpa, no, it’s Rosaline! It’s all because of her… My voice cracked as I lunged forward, trying to shield Grandpa’s legs, desperate to make him understand.
But when I looked up. Mr. Richard’s gaze met mine, coll and unyielding–like a dagger poised to strike He didn’t see me as family. He saw me as a threat.
The air thickened. My legs gave way beneath me, and collapsed to the floor, the weight of everything crashing down. I knew then–I was finished.
Aunt Eleanor sank beside me, her strength gone in an instant. She couldn’t even find the will to breathe properly.
I never imagined it would end like this. Never saw the top Rosaline and Caden had set for us. They’d been waiting, biding their time, knowing exactly when we’d make our move.
It was over. There was no coming back.
We had just condemned ourselves. The truth was out. We were the murderers.
Rosaline’s POV:
I stood there, watching Queenie flail, trying to shift the blame to me. It was almost laughable
Slowly, I walked over, a smirk curling on my lips.
“Queenie,” I said, my voice calm, almost amused, “you’re really still trying to make me the villain? Tell me. did I force you to poison the Alpha? Did I stand behind you, knife in hand, making you and Eleanor steal his body?”
I tilted my head, my gaze piercing. “If not for your greed, your selfishness, none of this would have happened.” I stated, my voice cutting through the air like a sharpened blade.
Queenie’s lips trembled, but no words came. She was trapped in her own terror.
“Mom, you really let me down,” Caden’s voice was icy, his expression colder than anything I had ever seen.
“I’m sorry, son. I was wrong. Please, don’t call the cops I can’t go to jail. If I do, it’s over for me and Queenie,” Eleanor wailed, throwing herself at Caden, chitching his legs in frantic desperation.
“If you knew it would end like this, you shouldn’t have done this in the first place.” Caden’s voice dropped to an emotionless chill as he shoved her away.
He didn’t look at her, his eyes cold, detached. “From now on, Grandpa is my only family. No one else matters. His words hit like a hammer, final and unyielding.

Caden and I eased Mr. Richard into the bed, each movement deliberate, ensuring he was comfortable.
“Grandpa, jusi rest, Caden’s voice broke through the stillness. His face, usually so tight with control. softened at the edges as he spoke. The lines of strain around his eyes relaxed, just for a moment.
Richard reached out, his hand firm on Caden’s, the strength in his grip a quiet defiance to his fragile state. “Caden, I’m fine,” he said, his voice low but steady.
I stood silently beside them, watching as Richard settle back into the pillows. I tucked the blankets: carefully around him, my hands moving with practice precision. Then I looked him squarely in the eye “Mr. Richard, I know this has shaken you. But you need to stay calm. Your body is still recovering. No anger, no stress, no worries. It could trigger another incident.
That ordeal was too close for comfort.
I had kept a watchful eye on the players in this twisted game–Heidi, Eleanor, Queenie. It was clear they had set their sights on the Alpha. Their intentions? Dangerous. Treacherous.
Caden and I had been ahead of them, though. I’d followed the plan to the letter. I’d stabilized Richard the operating room just in time. The poison Queenie had slipped into his IV was swapped out by Caden. who had been like a shadow in the background. He had been waiting.
The ‘incident‘ in the operating room had been staged. The fallout we’d shown to the staff? It was all part of the act.
No one, except Caden, Mr. Richard, and I, knew the truth.
Though Richard could barely move, his mind was sharp.
He heard everything.
It had been a flawless plan. A perfect ruse–if only Heid had shown up.
But in hindsight, she must’ve backed out when she realized Richard got in trouble.
“Don’t worry, Rosie,” Richard said, his voice steady and calm despite the weight of everything. “I’m not stranger to close calls. I’ve survived worse, and now…. now I see everything clearly. There’s nothing left to
fear.”
His words were quiet, but there was a strength in them. He still had years ahead of him, years to be with his grandson, to watch over the Eclipse Pack.
That, however, was the true concern–passing it on to Caden. Safely. Surely.
Richard’s gaze shifted to Caden, who stood still by the bed, his expression unreadable. The weight of the world was on his shoulders.
I could feel the unspoken words between them. The burden of legacy. The sense of duty.
I reached out and quietly squeezed Caden’s hand, offering a silent moment of support.

Queenie was one thing, but Eleanor–his mother–was another. Betrayal from her, it cut deeper than any

Richard’s thoughts returned to the present, and he looked back at me. “Rosie, I owe you. Without you. Caden and I would still be blind to everything happening around us.”
I gave him a soft smile, a touch of ruefulness in my expression. “Mr. Richard, you’ve always been so kind to me. I did what anyone would have done. As for… everything else, I shouldn’t have acted so rashly. I should’ve handled things better–shouldn’t have let my temper get the best of me at the banquet.”
I glanced at Caden out of the corner of my eye, the weight of my words lingering between us.
The atmosphere was thick, the air heavy with things left unsaid. Whether Queenie had poisoned Richard or not no longer mattered. My actions had already set everything in motion. The Eclipse Pack had been humiliated. Richard’s name was dragged through the mud. And I had pushed him to the brink. The last thing I needed was for him to collapse again, but I could feel the tension coiling under his calm facade..
“Enough, Rosie, Richard’s voice softened, his hand warm as it patted mine. His gaze turned to Caden. steady and firm. “Caden, you and Rosie should go now I’m fine here. Leslie will look after me.”
Caden’s expression barely shifted. “Alright, Grandpa,” he said, his voice flat, the weariness in his eyes betraying his composure. He turned, his broad shoulders rigid, like a man carrying a burden no one else could see. “Get some rest.”
I’ll come by tomorrow, Mr. Richard,” I said, matching his stride as we moved toward the door.
Caden walked ahead, his figure tall and unwavering, a silent tower in the dim light.
He wore his usual mask–impossible to read. But I knew him. Beneath that cold exterior, the hurt was there. I could feel it.
I cleared my throat, ready to speak, but then Caden stopped. He spun around, hands pressing me against the wall.
His eyes, dark and stormy, locked onto mine with a weight I hadn’t expected. “Are you still angry with me?” His voice was low, a thread of tension curling through the words.
I knew what he meant. The lies, the betrayal. It was all there, written in his eyes.
“You know how much I hate being lied to,” I snapped, though the anger had faded long ago. “What you did… it made me feel like you didn’t trust me. Like I was nothing”
My voice was sharp, but inside, I wasn’t angry anymore

He stepped closer, his expression darkening, but not in anger–in amusement.
His fingers brushed over mine, his touch lingering as his thumb traced circles over my palm.

I cleared my mind, getting my mind back on track. This was no time for distractions.
The plan was bigger than just Queenie and Eleanor–it was about Heidi, too. The one who’d poisoned Richard alongside them.
The one lurking in the shadows, pulling strings, as dangerous as any of them.
Tonight, we had failed to capture her.
I couldn’t shake the feeling that Heidi and her master was biding their time. They were players, too.
She wasn’t just a pawn in this game–she was central to it. Whoever was behind her had a bigger move planned.
She needed to be taken out of the game. Quickly.

If it wasn’t Heidi, then what else could it be?
Her gaze met mine, steady and intense. “Do you remember, years ago, when you told me Tessa saved you by throwing herself off that cliff?”
The memory hit me like a punch to the gut. “Yes,” I answered, my voice heavy with the weight of that

Tessa had saved me, sacrificed herself for me.
I would never forget that.
But if Heidi wasn’t Tessa, why did she know so much about that day? Why did she seem so familiar with it
Rosaline interrupted my thoughts. “Do you remember when Heidi tried to pin the blame on me for leaking the Eclipse Group bid? After we exposed her, she showed you her injuries, trying to win your sympathy.”
I nodded, my voice low. “Of course. I remember.”
The betrayal still stung. Heidi had sold out Eclipse, framed Rosaline. If she wasn’t Tessa, she would be facing a punishment much harsher than the one I gave her.
Rosaline narrowed her eyes, suspicion deepening in her gaze. “If I’m right, those injuries don’t look like they came from a fall off a cliff. They don’t even match the timeline of eight years ago.”
I frowned, the realization slowly creeping in. “So what are you saying? The pieces started to fit together in a way that made my skin prickle.

If I hadn’t been late, I would have been the one lying dead tonight
The thought made me tremble, the horror of it wrapping around me like cold chains.
But as I reached the front of the hospital, there they were again. Their argument cut through the night air, too loud to ignore.
Rosaline was furious about Caden faking his disability.
And from the words I overheard, it was clear–Caden s had feelings for me.
That was what made Rosaline so furious, so consumed with jealousy.
I was Tessa–the one Caden had always loved.
And what was Rosaline? Just an Omega. Nothing more.
Their fight was fierce, relentless. They weren’t even planning on getting married anymore. That left a window wide open for me, didn’t it?
The Moon Goddess must truly be looking out for me.
A few close calls, but no harm done.
Hmph, as long as I am Tessa, Caden will never be able to let go of me.
This time, I would make sure to rid myself of that shameless Omega slut, Rosaline.
Caden, the perfect heir, would be mine–mine, Heidi.
With that thought stewing in my mind, I hailed a taxi, instructing the driver to follow Rosaline’s trail, tracking her as she disappeared into the night.
Rosaline’s POV:
The scene changed to Chroma Lounge.
It was well past midnight, yet the bar pulsed with life. Neon lights flickered above, casting a garish glow over the crowd. The air was thick with smoke and the scent of alcohol, mingling with the scent of bodies lost in their vices. Werewolves and humans alike shuffled through the haze, their movements sluggish, desperate for distraction.
I perched on a barstool, the empty bottles of wine scattered before me like discarded memories. My head swayed, my gaze unfocused, pretending to be drunk–playing the part of a helpless, inebriated woman.
It was all a performance.
I kept my eyes half–lidded, watching for the predators that always followed.
A woman like me? A beauty that could stop a room? I was always the target of hungry eyes. Wolves, in need of something to devour.
And then, one found me. A particularly drunk werewolf staggered over, his breath heavy with booze. His words were thick, slurred. “Hey there, beautiful. What’s a lovely lady like you doing all alone? Let me keep

The wolf wasn’t deterred. His grip tightened, and his eyes dropped, fixating on me with crude intent. “Don’t be shy, sweetheart. Let me show you-a–good–time….
Just as the words left his mouth, a shadow cut through the dim bar. A tall, masked figure stepped forward, his presence sharp and dangerous.
Relief flooded me. Jasper, help!”
Without a word, Jasper swung. His fist connected with the werewolf’s jaw with a sickening crack.
The wolf crumpled, his body folding to the floor in a drunken heap.
“Who the hell hit me?” he slurred, fury clouding his vision.
He stumbled to his feet, eyes wild with anger.
“Who the hell wears a mask to a bar?”
Before he could make another move, Jasper was on him. A boot slammed into his chest with brutal force, sending the werewolf crashing back to the ground.
“Get lost.”
The impact knocked the air out of the wolf, who gasped and retched, vomit spilling across the floor. The stench was foul, thick in the air.
I covered my mouth, my stomach lurching.
I quickly sprang from my seat, stumbling toward the restroom, desperate to escape the overwhelming
scent.
“Rosaline, be careful!”
Jasper’s grip tightened on my arm, pulling me away from the restrooms and toward the stairs that led to the hotel rooms. He wasn’t going to let me go. Not yet.

A slow, satisfied smile stretched across my face. I could barely contain the triumph that surged through
Rosaline. That shameless Omega.
After a heated row with Caden, she’d turned on her heel and gone straight to the bar to flirt with Jasper.
A woman without morals, always looking for her next prey.
I had her now. Every detail, every moment. There was no escaping this time.
I wasted no time. I sent the video straight to Caden.
Let’s see how you wiggle out of this one, Rosaline.
Jasper’s POV:
The elevator doors whispered shut, the soft hum of the mechanism the only sound between us. Rosaline straightened, an imperceptible distance between us now.
“Thanks… for earlier,” she murmured, her lips barely moving, voice distant but polite.
I studied her, my eyes narrowing slightly. “No need to thank me. If it’s about you, I’ll always be there. You

I wasn’t lying. I’d already caught sight of Heidi lurking in the corner. Rosaline’s instincts were razor–sharp –she knew Heidi would snap a picture the moment westepped inside.
She was clever, I had to give her that. Setting a trap for the prey by making them think they were the predator.
And me? I would always be there for her. No questions asked.
She turned her face away, her discomfort evident. “I appreciate it, really,” she whispered, her voice tight, strained.
Heidi’s POV:

I reveled in the excitement bubbling inside me. I quickly forwarded the hotel details to Caden and settled into a chair in the lobby, trying to contain my glee.
Ten minutes passed, and there he was. Caden stormed into the lobby, his face dark, his presence radiating cold fury.
“Caden.”
1 sprang to my feet, the sweetness in my voice deliberate, but he didn’t even glance at mè
The anger gnawed at me, simmering under the surface. How could he still be so obsessed with that Omega, with Rosaline, in a moment like this?
He barely looked at me before asking, his voice cold, sharp. “Where is she?”
I knew exactly who he meant..
I offered a smile that barely touched my eyes. “Follow me,” I said, and gestured toward the stairs.
The elevator doors slid shut with a soft hum, and I turned to Caden, forcing a sympathetic smile onto my face. “Caden, try not to get too upset when we go in. I’m sure Rosaline only made that mistake because slje was drunk. She didn’t mean to, really. Alcohol does things to people, makes them do things they don’t
want to do
“You don’t need to defend her,” Caden’s voice sliced through the air, cold and flat.
Good. The angrier he was, the better for what I had planned.
We reached the door of the room, and I glanced at Caden, his silence thick and unsettling. I hesitated, my words careful, almost tentative. “Caden, are you sure you want to go in?”
“Yeah,” Caden muttered, his voice clipped, his lips pressed into a thin line of ice.
A surge of admiration swelled in my chest, but I kept it hidden behind my smile. “No matter what happens, I’ll be here with you.
I knocked on the door, the sound sharp and final. It swung open, revealing Jasper, wearing nothing but bathrobe.

I smirked inwardly. Rosaline had to be in there. Probably lying on the bed, waiting for Jasper to make his
move.
How eager they were. It seemed they couldn’t wait to get to the dirty work.
Caught in the act. Caden would never look at Rosaline the same way after this.

Jasper blinked, his eyes widening in confusion as he saw us. “Caden? What are you two doing here?”
Before Caden could speak, I stepped forward, my voice biting, sharp like a whip. “I saw you bring Rosaline here. She’s Caden’s fiancée! How could you do this?”
Jasper’s gaze flicked from me to Caden, the confusion deepening. “Rosaline? I haven’t seen her today. She’s
not here.”
Not here?
My heart lurched in my chest.
How could that be?
He was lying. Jasper was covering for Rosaline.
I knew what I’d seen. They had walked in together. I couldn’t have been wrong.
Caden’s eyes narrowed, his gaze hard as flint. He looked down at me, waiting for an explanation.
I quickly spoke, my voice urgent. “Caden, I swear. I’m not lying to you. You don’t have to believe my words, but the video isn’t fake. Rosaline’s in there. I swear it
Jasper scoffed, crossing his arms with a smirk that dripped with mockery. “Ms. Tessford, I see you’ve made up stories about me and Rosaline, Why don’t you go inside and see for yourself? Prove the veracity of your tales.”
I felt my breath catch in my throat. Doubt crept in, but only for a moment.
I looked up at Caden, his cold eyes unmoving, his silence heavy between us.
I clenched my fists, my resolve hardening. Rosaline was in that room.
I’d seen her walk in with Jasper–there was no mistake.
Jasper was trying too hard to cover his tracks. His calm was too calculated, too perfect.
He was a master of deception.
The more relaxed he acted, the more I knew something was wrong.
This was all an act–one that was slipping through his fingers.
I wasn’t going to let this chance slip by.
I had to catch Rosaline red–handed.

A chill settled deep in my chest. A sharp, gnawing resolve that I had to find Rosaline. I turned my gaze to Jasper, forcing a smile, trying to mask the rising tension “Well, since you’re making the offer, Mr. Sullivan, it’d be rude of me not to take it. It’ll case Caden’s mind. After all, Rosaline’s his fiancée. It’s only natural for us to be concerned.”
I spun
un the excuse in my head, convincing myself it was the right thing to do. Without another word, I strode toward the door, determination in every
y step.
The door creaked open, and I immediately moved to the bed. With one swift motion, I ripped the covers away, my heart thudding in my chest. But the bed was empty.
I froze. A spike of disbelief shot through me.
Rosaline had to be hiding. She must’ve ducked out of sight while Jasper and I were talking.
My blood boiled. This time, I wouldn’t let her slip away. I would drag that Omega into the light.
But as I scoured the entire presidential suite, each passing moment dug the hole of frustration deeper. No sign of Rosaline.
I checked the bedroom. The living room. The bathroom. Even the closet. Nothing.
How was this possible?
I had seen her come in with Jasper, just moments ago. She couldn’t have disappeared. No way.
I glanced back at Caden. He stood there, still and silent, a cold presence like a shadow in the doorway.
If I didn’t find Rosaline, I was done. I’d be caught in a lie.
Caden had already been distant as of late. If he thought I was lying to him, if he thought I was fabricating all this, he’d be disgusted. He’d pull away for good.
My heart dropped into my stomach, heavy with dread.
Where the hell had she gone?
I cast a glance out the window. The twentieth floor. Rosaline couldn’t have just… jumped, could she?
“Caden…” I returned to the door, my voice tight, uncertainty creeping into my chest.
He didn’t answer at first. But Jasper’s voice sliced through the quiet, sharp with mockery. “So, Ms. Tessford, no one’s in there, huh? I told you, I haven’t seen Rosaline today. You must’ve been mistaken. Why make up stories? Are you trying to drag me and Rosaline through the mud?”
I bit my lip, fighting the urge to snap.
My eyes darted toward Caden, who stood motionless, his face an unmoving mask of frost.
That gaze. It hit me like a slap in the face. He was angry

“It’s none of your business.” Caden’s voice was sharp, as cold as the wind cutting through the streets.
He did glance my way. Without a word, he turned, his back straight, his footsteps heavy as he

I watched him, panic rising in my chest. My legs moved, but no matter how fast I tried to keep up. distance between us seemed endless.

“Caden, please, you don’t understand,” I called after him my voice faltering. “I saw them. I filmed it. It’s them, Caden! They’re trying to deceive you!
“Do you trust me, Caden? Please, just listen!
“Caden, I swear, I’d never lie, especially not about Rosaline. She’s your fiancée, I’d never accuse her without a reason. I’ve made my mistakes, but this isn’t one of them.”
But before I could say another word, the door slammed shut with a force that rattled through me.
Caden’s car roared to life, speeding off into the night, leaving me in the hollow silence.
Not a single word. No response. He didn’t even look back.
I stood there, frozen, watching the tail lights disappear. My chest tightened, the coldness of his departure sinking deep.
Caden was angry. He thought I was lying.
But I wasn’t! I wasn’t lying!
“Why… why didn’t you find me in the room, then?” A voice, sharp and mocking, cut through my thoughts.
“Must be weird, especially when you saw us going into that room together. ‘Did she vanish?” “Did she jump?‘ I bet that’s what you were thinking.”
I spun around, my heart leaping into my throat. Rosalie stood there, her gaze steady, her face calm calm, too composed. A twisted smirk tugged at her lips.
She wasn’t drunk.
The realization hit me like a punch to the gut. My stormach sank as the truth crashed down on me with brutal clarity.

This was all part of her game. She’d made sure I’d look foolish in front of Caden. She had made sure I’d lose his trust forever.
“You… you’re despicable!” My voice trembled with rag my teeth clenched tight.
Rosaline raised an eyebrow, her hands slipping into the pockets of her coat. Her grin spread wider, smug and triumphant. “What? You’re upset? You should’ve thought twice before you tried to trip me up. Remember when I was in the hospital? You played innocent, pretended to regret everything. Caden didn’t notice, but I saw straight through you.”
She stepped closer, her voice dripping with satisfaction “And now? Now he’s disappointed in you. You should just let it go. It’s over.”
My chest burned with frustration. I glared at her, the fury building inside. “No. I won’t give up on Caden. He’s mine. I was here first. You don’t have the right to take him from me. You’re the real outsider here!”
Rosaline scoffed, her laugh sharp and cutting. “Delusional. You think you can pull any trick and win him back? Listen up, Heidi, Caden is mine. He’s the man I’ve chosen, and there’s no way you’re getting him. If you think you can take him from me, you’d better think again.

“Fine. You think I’m scared of you?” Heidi spat, her tone sharp and full of defiance. “Rosaline, let me make something clear. Caden loves me. Eight years ago, I saved him, and that’s why he’s mine. You’ve seen it, haven’t you? All these years, he’s been searching for me. He never forgot about me.”
There was a satisfaction in her voice, unmistakable and smug. Like she thought she’d won.
A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips. Perfect. Heidi had fallen right into my hands.
This was exactly what I had planned, I made sure she believed she’d lost her place in Caden’s heart, that she was no longer the one.
Now, with my engagement to him looming. I knew she’d panic. She’d act out of desperation. And when she did, she’d make a mistake.
That mistake would reveal everything.
I could almost hear the gears clicking into place. The plan was unfolding, just as I had hoped.
I clicked my tongue, relishing the moment. Time to strike the final blow,
I looked Heidi over, my gaze cold and calculating. “You know, Heidi, deep down, you have to ask yourself… are you really the Tessa Caden always talks about?”
Heidi’s POV:
My’s mind slammed to a halt at Rosaline’s words.
What was that supposed to mean?
Had she seen through everything?
No, it couldn’t be.
I ransacked my memories, searching for any crack, any mistake. The past few days had been flawless- there had been no slip–ups, no hint of suspicion.
Not even Caden had caught on.
No, Rosaline hadn’t uncovered a thing.
I squared my shoulders, chin high, and I stared directly into Rosaline’s eyes. My voice was calm, unwavering. “Of course I am.”
Rosaline’s laugh sliced through the tension, cruel and bitter. “You don’t even come close to the Tessa
escribes. Sweet, innocent, trusting? You? No, you’re a snake–ruthless, plotting, and full of tricks.
How does that even fit the Tessa he raves about?”
I tossed my hair over my shoulder, my eyes scanning the vacant, cavernous parking garage. “If you hadn’t stolen Caden, I wouldn’t be doing all this. Rosaline, dont act like you’re some saint. You’ve been playing the “good girl‘ routine just as much as I have in front of him.”

Rosaline’s POV:
I watched Heidi disappear into the distance, my mind swirling with thoughts.
She had walked right into the trap I’d set for her–no doubt about it.
But then…
Something caught my eye. A glint, a flash just beneath her wrist. A scar, deep and jagged, like a jagged mark from a past I couldn’t quite place.
It twisted something in my stomach.
I’d never noticed it before. Not once.
A sharp breath escaped me, a hiss of realization. That star–why did it feel so familiar?
The image haunted my thoughts, repeating itself over and over. Suddenly, my head was ablaze with pain.
Igasped, hands flying to my temples.
My vision blurred, and I closed my eyes to steady myself.
Scenes flashed before my mind, strange yet eerily familiar.

Why did it look so familiar? He held someone’s hand–someone he refused to leave behind.
The girl’s face twisted with jealousy, but before she could act, an adult Beta appeared. With a single swipe, the creature knocked her to the ground.
Glass shards exploded, littering the floor around her. The girl’s wrist was sliced open, blood pooling on the broken glass. Her sobs were muffled, drowned out by the ringing silence in my ears.
“Rosaline?”
Caden’s voice broke through the fog, pulling me back.
I blinked, staring at him in a daze. Slowly, the face of the boy from my vision merged with Caden’s.
And Heidi’s scar–it was exactly like the one on that girls wrist.
What was happening? Why was my mind drowning in such vivid, foreign images?
My heart sank. Could Heidi truly be Tessa?
Was the werewolf boy… Caden?

He stepped closer, his hand wrapping around mine, grounding me.
“Are you okay?” His voice was gentle, but the edge of worry was clear.

I didn’t even know what was happening myself.

His words sank into me, and with them, an overwhelming wave of exhaustion.
I yawned, stretching my arms. “I’ll head home to rest. Make sure Leslie looks after Mr. Richard. You’re still recovering too.”

Caden opened the car door for me and I got in. As soon as I settled into the passenger seat and reached for my seatbelt, he suddenly leaned in close.
“What are you doing?” I looked at him warily.
His gaze burned with intensity. “What do you think?”
“How would I know?” I raised an eyebrow, though I had a pretty good idea.
I still remember someone telling me this morning at the hospital that certain things should be done in a more private setting.” Caden murmured teasingly. His eyes swept over the car’s interior before smirking. “T hear it’s pretty exciting to do it in a car. Should we give it a try?”
My face instantly turned scarlet.
I had been thinking about kissing and this shameless man was already jumping straight to car sex!

Seeing me all flustered, Caden chuckled but didn’t push further. Instead, he reached over and fastened my seatbelt for me. “Alright,” he said with a hint of amusement,
Caden drove me back to my temporary apartment.
Since we were putting on an act, we couldn’t be seen living together.
“We’re here.” He pulled up and got out to open my door
“You should go. If someone sees us together, it’ll ruin everything.” I glanced around nervously. If Heidi saw us, all my efforts would be wasted.
However, Caden lingered. He was unwilling to go home. He suddenly reached out and pulled me into his embrace. “What’s wrong? Can’t wait to get rid of me?”

However, my mind kept replaying what I had seen earlier.
Who was that little girl with the scar on her wrist?
Was it Tessa?
And why did Heidi have the same kind of scar?
Could hers be fake?
I hadn’t gotten a clear look carlier, but my gut told me Heidi’s scar didn’t seem fake.
I needed to find a way to take a closer look next time.
I drifted off to sleep with these thoughts swirling in my head.
In my dreams, I was being hunted again.
I ran desperately, panting for breath in a dark forest. Behind me, a group of fierce–looking werewolves was closing in.

I had nowhere left to run.

“I wanted to spend some time with Grandpa,” I said casually.
Now that he was finally awake and his health was steadily improving, I felt both relieved and guilty.
I had been so consumed by work that I had neglected his well–being.
Now that he was recovering, I was determined to make it up to him.

Leslie, knowing better than to ask questions, quietly placed a blanket over me.
I must have been exhausted because I didn’t wake up until the next afternoon.
I stirred at the sound of a young woman’s voice.

I was thrilled to see Caden awake, but at the same time noticed the hint of disappointment in his eyes.
What was he disappointed about?
Most likely, he was thinking about that Omega bitch, Rosaline!

I had to find a way to fix this!

“Caden, you’re awake,” I said with a soft smile.

It was proof of my skill and devotion.
However, Caden only glanced at them indifferently before saying coldly, “No, thanks. Leslie, go to the hospital cafeteria and bring me a meal.”
His direct rejection made my heart clench.
“Caden, I made this for you. Why would you still ask Leslie to get food from the cafeteria?” I bit my lip, looking hurt.
His sharp gaze landed on me. “If you feel wronged, then don’t come here anymore. No one needs you to take care of them,” he said with a frown.
“Caden, are you still mad at me?” I lowered my head and asked with a trembling voice.
He was definitely still angry about what happened yesterday–about me accusing Rosaline and Jasper of getting a hotel room together.
It was all a trap! Rosaline had set me up to frame me instead!

Hours passed and the setting sun bathed the hospital in a deep orange glow by the time Heidi was finally wheeled out. Her face was deathly pale and she was still unconscious.

I frowned slightly at the silence. Just as I was about to kock again, the door suddenly swung open. And there he was–Caden, standing tall and imposing while ocking his piercing gaze on me.
“Come in,” he murmured.
Before I could react, he reached out, grabbed my wrist, and pulled me inside.
With a resounding bang, he shut the door behind us. The next moment, he had me pinned against the door with his powerful arms caging me in on either side.
His dark eyes bored into mine as he whispered huskily, Rosaline, I missed you.”

I hadn’t even finished my sentence when Caden suddenly leaned in and kissed me, swallowing the words I was about to say.
I was speechless. I wanted to push him away, but he didn’t budge. Instead, he deepened the kiss.
His tongue forcefully pried open my lips, intertwining with mine–dominant, yet carrying a hint of
tenderness.
I couldn’t resist and instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck.
My actions tempted Caden and it made him lose even more control.
The office was starting to burn with passion.
I didn’t know how long had passed before Caden finally ended the deep kiss, albeit reluctantly.
I gasped for breath and glared at him. “You pervert!”
Caden chuckled in a low voice. “I’m kissing my fiancée. That’s perfectly reasonable. How am I considered pervert?”
“In every possible way,” I snapped, pushing him away and sitting on the nearby couch.
This man had kissed me so passionately that my whole body felt weak and my heart was still pounding wildly.
Caden quickly sat beside me and casually wrapped an arm around my shoulders. He whispered against my ear, “There are more shameless things I could do. Want to try?”
I immediately scooted away from him. “Enough! Just tell me why you called me here.”
This man–his shamelessness knew no bounds!
If I hadn’t been so disciplined, I might have already fallen prey to him before our engagement.
At this rate, who knew what else he’d dare to do?
“Alpha, since you’ve accepted him, why don’t we try doing something shameless?” Freya suddenly spoke

“Get lost, you pervert! What are you even thinking?” I scolded her.

Caden, seeing that I was no longer playing along, leaned back against the couch and finally got to the point. “Heidi has late–stage stomach cancer.
“What?” I was slightly taken aback.
Late–stage stomach cancer?
How was that possible?

How did her health worsen so fast?
“Do you believe it?” I turned to look at Caden.
“The doctor said so,” he replied indifferently.
I fell into deep thought. “Something about this doesn’t seem right.”
“Forget it. If she’s really sick, let her get proper treatment, Caden rubbed his temples. “But your plan-
“The plan remains unchanged!” I said coldly. “After work, you should go visit her at the hospital.”
“You mean…” Caden narrowed his eyes,
I gave him a playful wink. “You know what to do.”
Caden’s POV:
After work, I drove straight to the hospital.
By the time I arrived, Heidi was already awake. She looked pale.
I pushed open the door and stepped inside.
Heidi sat up immediately upon seeing me. “Caden, what’s wrong with me?”
Standing by her bedside with my hands in my pockets, looked down at her from above.
Rosaline’s words echoed in

Heidi’s illness had come on too suddenly.
“Tessa, you’re sick. The doctor said you have late–stage stomach cancer, I said indifferently.

“No… No way!” Her eyes instantly reddened and tears streamed down her face like a flood.

Upon hearing my question, Heidi lowered her head and said with a grievance, “Cadeu, do you think I would lie to you about something like this?”
Large tears kept falling, soaking the pristine white sheets.
“I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes in the past, and you don’t trust me anymore. But do you really think I’d make up something like this just to deceive you?” She clutched the blanket tightly and added, “It’s fine if you don’t believe me. Just leave me alone. Let me die on my own.”
Her voice trembled with sadness, but I remained unmoyed. I simply frowned and said, “The doctor told me you have late–stage stomach cancer. If you undergo chemotherapy, you might have two years left. If you don’t, you only have one month. Whatever you choose, in the time you have left, I will give you anything you want that’s within my power.

I was ready to leave after finishing my words.
“I won’t do chemotherapy, Heidi said weakly while coughing violently. “It’ll make my hair fall out and I’ll look ugly… Caden, aren’t you about to get engaged to Rosaline? I want to see you two together, looking beautiful and happy. I don’t want to be an eyesore at your wedding.
“I just want to see you happy.”
I turned around and saw her covering her mouth as she coughed, blood slowly seeping through her slender fingers. Her already pale complexion had turned almost translucent.
She looked so weak that it didn’t seem fake.
Recalling Rosaline’s words, I walked back to the bedside and looked down at Heidi. “If you don’t want chemotherapy, that’s fine. You can still attend my engagement ceremony with Rosaline. Just rest well.”
“Then… Caden, can I hug you?” Heidi lifted her longing gaze to me. She hesitated before saying, “I know my feelings for you caused you a lot of trouble in the past. But now that I’m dying, can’t we consider this my final goodbye to those feelings?”
Inarrowed my eyes slightly while standing still.
Taking my silence as agreement, she reached out and wrapped her arms around my waist, resting her head against me.
“Caden, I really hope you can forgive me,” she said sentimentally.
“What are you two doing?”
Rosaline’s sharp voice suddenly cut through the air.
She stood in the doorway, staring at me and Heidi in each other’s arms, her face was dark with anger and betrayal.

Now, I just needed to add more fuel to that fire.
Clutching the blanket tightly around me, I looked at Rosaline with wide, nervous eyes. “Rosaline, please don’t blame Caden. It’s all my fault. I was the one who wanted to hug him. I’m sick and he was just trying

Both Rosaline and I froze.
He bent down and helped me off the floor, then turned to Rosaline coldly. “Rosaline, Tessa is already dying. Don’t you think you’re being a little petty by arguing with her?”
“Petty? Rosaline’s eyes widened in disbelief. She let out a bitter laugh. “Fine. Since that’s how you see me. I’ll just leave. I won’t disturb your little moment together.”
She stormed out without another word.
I quickly clutched Caden’s sleeve, pretending to be anxious. “Caden, please don’t hate Rosaline because of me. She’s a good person–she’s just upset. Go after her just… I still want to see you guys have your happy

I coughed again, spitting up more blood.
But inside, I was laughing. This plan was working even better than expected.

“Of course,” I raised an eyebrow confidently. “Acting is my specialty. Don’t forget, I’m the boss of Starplay Entertainment.”
Just now, it had all been an act when I argued with Caden in front of Heidi.
I wanted Heidi to believe she had won, so she would become even bolder and more reckless. That way, she was bound to slip up and reveal that she wasn’t actually Tessa.
“Are you really sure she’s not Tessa?” Caden’s deep gaze held a hint of inquiry.
“Why the question? Feeling sorry for her?” I stopped in my tracks and looked up at him. “If that’s the case. you should hurry back and stay with her.”
Caden looked at my jealous expression and smiled charmingly.
“If I cared, I wouldn’t have gone along with your little performance. He leaned in close with amusement. “Are you jealous?”
“No way! Don’t flatter yourself.” I rolled my eyes at him.
The next second, Caden’s lips came down on mine.
“Enough, don’t mess around.” I took a step back, dodging his kiss.
We stopped in front of Richard’s hospital room and I recalled the scene I had just witnessed with Heidi. “If I’m not mistaken, she’s not sick at all.
“What makes you say that?” Caden asked with an intrigued smile.
I pondered for a moment before responding, “She looks pale, but her eyes are clear. More importantly, the blood she coughed up didn’t smell right. But I have to admit, she put in a lot of effort to fool
you. She must have bribed the doctors and nurses, not to mention the fake blood.”
As an Alpha, my sense of smell was sharp. The moment that woman spat out her first mouthful of fake blood, I had already figured it out..
Hearing this, Caden’s expression darkened. “So, you’re saying someone is helping her behind the scenes.”
“You caught on.” I wasn’t surprised.
If I could figure it out, then it wouldn’t be hard for Caden either.
I glanced up at him. “If Heidi isn’t Tessa but still knows so much about her, then once we track down her and the people backing her, you might just find your real Tessa.”

Before I could finish my sentence, Caden silenced me with a sudden kiss.
He pulled me into his arms and pressed firm, heated kisses onto my lips, completely stealing away my composure. My mind went blank as melted into his embrace.
Caden’s kisses were strong, dominant, and almost punching.
“Mmm… ouch…I whimpered, pushing at him.
Only then did Caden case up, his movements turning gentle.
His kisses grew softer, and soon, a strange sensation spread through my body, making me tremble.
It was embarrassing, yet at the same time, it felt wonderful–so good that I wanted more.
Oh God, what am I even thinking.
My face burned as if I had been standing under the scorching midday sun.
After what felt like an eternity, Caden finally let go of
“Next time, can we not do this in a place like this? If your grandpa suddenly walked out, it would be so awkward. I pouted.
“I think Grandpa would be pleased to see it. Caden couldn’t help but smile. The curve on his lips softened his usual aloof demeanor.
I rolled my eyes, unwilling to entertain his shameless comment any further.
Turning to the hospital room, I knocked gently on the door. A familiar voice soon responded from inside.
“Come in.”
The door opened and Willa greeted us respectfully, “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Holbrook.”
Caden looked very satisfied with this form of address and led me inside.
Richard was sitting up in bed, reading a newspaper. He wore reading glasses and his face was filled with kindness.
As soon as he saw us, he immediately put down the newspaper, removed his glasses, and beamed at me. “Rosie, come, sit.”

“Rosie, you’ve worked so hard for me.” Richard took my hand, sighing with emotion.
I held his hand and smiled. “This isn’t hard at all. Don’t worry, Mr. Richard. As long as I’m here, I’ll make sure you live a long and healthy life.”
“Longevity isn’t what I’m aiming for,” Richard chuckled, stroking his beard. “What I truly want is to see you and Caden get married and give me a great–grandson before I go.”
Then, as if worried I’d misunderstand, he quickly added. “A great–granddaughter would be just as wonderful!”
I felt my face heat up. “Mr. Richard, isn’t it a little too soon for that?”
“It’s not too soon at all.” Caden took a step closer, looking down at me with a serious expression. “I can’t wait a second longer.”
I wanted to disappear.
Could we please stop talking about this? This was beyond embarrassing.
As soon as marriage was mentioned, Leslie chimed in with a pleased expression. “Mr. Richard, their wedding is approaching fast! I’ve been checking dates, and there’s a blessed day at the end of this month- perfect for their engagement!”
The moment Leslie brought up the engagement, Richard practically beamed with joy. “That’s wonderful! Once they’re engaged, the wedding won’t be far behind.
I instinctively glanced at Caden, only to meet his affectionate gaze.
“Rosie, leave the engagement arrangements to us,” Richard reassured me. “You don’t need to worry about anything.”
“I understand.” I knew that the last time, when our engagement had been abruptly called off in public, it must have left a shadow in his heart. “This time, we’ll handle things properly.”

Below, a crowd had gathered, all staring at Heidi, whispering and pointing.
“Look! Someone’s trying to jump!”
“It’s dangerous! Get down from there!”
“Wait… doesn’t she look familiar? Isn’t she the one from the news? Mr. Holbrook’s first love, Ms. Tessford?”

Caden frowned and glanced at Rosaline. His deep voice was firm yet soft. “Rosaline, can you step aside for Tessa? She only has one month left to live. Let’s postpone the engagement for now–I want to spend some time with her.”
Rosaline smirked. “Oh, Caden, you really are something, aren’t you? So all Heidi had to do was throw a tantrum, and you wavered? Or was it that you never forgot her in the first place?”
Her voice grew sharper. “Of course! She’s Tessa–the girl you’ve been longing for all this time. The truth is, you never stopped loving her. So tell me, why are you even engaged to me? You don’t deserve me!”
“Rosaline, can you stop being so unreasonable?” Caden’s handsome face tensed, his expression unreadable.

Before I could finish, Rosaline scoffed. “Heidi, weren’t you going to jump? What are you waiting for?”
My face stiffened.
Is this shameless Omega seriously trying to force me to jump?
“What’s wrong? Scared? Or are you just putting on a show?” Rosaline smirked while crossing her arms.
“N–no! That’s not it… “I stammered. “Ms. Sinclair, I know you hate me… I know you resent me But don’t worry. I’ll be gone soon. Caden’s heart will belong to you alone by then…” I wiped my tears and looked up

I was gambling on the fact that he

Rosaline’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “Oh, how considerate of you. Thanks so much.”
I hesitated, wondering if I should push my luck a little further. Just as I took another step back, a sudden gust of wind blew past, vanking at my hospital gown.

I lost my footing and slipped. Before I could react, I was falling–plummeting straight off the rooftop.
Ahh!
In that split second of freefall, my mind went completely blank.
I had only lost my footing for a moment–how did this urn into a real fall?!
I didn’t want to die!
Unwillingness surged through me as I plunged downward at an alarming speed.
Bam! The next moment, I crashed onto a safety air cushion below.
The force of it was too much and I fainted.
Rosaline’s POV
The moment Heidi actually jumped, a chorus of shocked gasps erupted from the onlookers.

The doctors and nurses on the rooftop exchanged glances before rushing downstairs, leaving only Caden and me behind.
“That was quite the performance,” I smirked at Caden with satisfaction. I might just consider giving you a role in my next film”
Caden raised an eyebrow. “Ill think about it.
“Where’s Yale!” 1 glanced around.
Caden coughed lightly, and Yale immediately stepped forward, holding up his phone.
“Did you get everything on video?” I asked.
Yale nodded.
“Post it online in the middle of the night, I instructed. “Make sure to tag me, Heidi, and Caden. This will definitely go viral.”
Lifting my chin slightly. I mused aloud, “The trending topic will be something like ‘Rosaline the homewrecker forces Eclipse Pack’s heir’s first love to her death. That should get people talking.”
Caden ruffled my hair dotingly. “Aren’t you afraid of being attacked and criticized?”
“It’s nothing new to me,” I said nonchalantly.
I had already planned everything. Heidi wanted to use public sympathy to pressure me, to turn public opinion against me with her theatrics.
So why not give her a push? Let her get what she wants. I’d help her stir up an even bigger storm. Then, when the moment was right, I’d expose her for the fraud she was and destroy her once and for all.
By then, not only would I come out of this unscathed, but people would also feel guilty for ever doubting me. The public loves a redemption arc. And with all that buzz, I could ride the wave to promote Starplay Entertainment’s latest film…
D*mn, I was a genius.
“Let’s head down, Caden said, catching me off guard as he suddenly leaned in and planted a quick kiss on my cheek.
I glared at him. “You’re shameless!”
He chuckled and walked with me down the stairs.
By the time we reached the ground floor, the hospital was in complete chaos. Doctors, nurses, and patients alike were all in shock.

Now, she was unconscious, being rushed to the emergency room by a group of frantic medical staff.
The press had already gotten wind of the incident and warmed the area, snapping photos of Heidi’s pale, fragile form.
I stormed out of the hospital with fury written all over my face, while Caden followed closely behind with a cold demeanor.
The excited reporters wasted no time surrounding us.
A scandal involving the fiancée and first love of the Eclipse Pack’s heir? A dramatic falling–out, with Rosaline forcing Heidi to jump to her death?
This was front–page material!
The questions came flying at me like bullets.
“Ms. Sinclair, can you explain what really happened?”
“Ms. Sinclair, we’ve heard reports that you drove Ms. Tessford to jump. While it’s true that she wronged you in the past, she never tried to kill you. But now that she’s terminally ill, do you really have no remorse for pushing her to the brink?”
“Mr. Holbrook has always claimed Ms. Tessford was his first love. He spent years looking for her, yet you swooped in and stole him away. Don’t you feel guilty for being the third party?”
The reporters were filled with righteous indignation, firing sharp questions at me, outright accusing me of forcing Heidi to jump off the building.
I glanced at the cameras pointed at me and spoke calmly. “Caden is my fiancé. How does that make me the third party? You call Heidi his first love, but were they ever actually together?”
However, the reporters refused to back down.
“Ms. Sinclair, we’ve heard that you and Mr. Holbrook had already called off your engagement, and you haven’t officially gotten engaged again. Can you really claim he’s still your fiancé?”
“If what you say is true, that Mr. Holbrook is your fiance, then why would you drive Ms. Tessford to the point of jumping? Were you afraid she’d steal him from you?
These damn reporters. They didn’t dare offend Caden, so they were taking all their frustrations out on me instead.
My expression darkened as I curtly responded, “No comment.”
Just then, a sleek black Bentley rolled up and came to a stop in front of the crowd.
The door swung open, and Jasper stepped out.
“It’s Jasper! Jasper’s here!” one reporter shouted excitedly.
Immediately, the crowd swarmed him.
Jasper, are you here to pick up Ms. Sinclair?”

“Jasper, what’s your relationship with Ms. Sinclair? Are you really just coworkers?”
Jasper ignored them all and walked straight to me. “Rosaline, are you okay?”
I nodded. “Let’s go.”

Caden’s POV:
The reporters were momentarily stunned by Rosaline’s sudden departure. Then, as if realizing I was still there, they turned to me expectantly.
I was not Rosaline. My expression remained cold, exuding an aura of unapproachable dominance.
Sensing the hostility in the air, the reporters exchanged glances, checked the footage they had captured, and eventually dispersed.
I paid them no mind. Instead, my gaze followed the direction Rosaline had left in.
That woman had the guts to call Jasper here and leave with him in front of everyone.
Am I nothing in her eyes?

“Jasper, thank you. I keep troubling you,” Rosaline said, sitting in the passenger seat and turning her head to look at me.
I met her

This was better than when she used to avoid me all the time.
Rosaline seemed a little uncomfortable under my stare and quickly changed the subject. “By the way, how’s your preparation for this year’s International Film Festival?”
“I’m still considering it,” I said, frowning slightly.
Lately, I felt out of sorts.
I wanted to create a breathtaking film to enter the festival, but I hadn’t found the right inspiration.
On top of that, the news of Rosaline’s engagement to Caden had been weighing on me. At one point, I even considered withdrawing from the competition altogether.
She smiled and said, “But I do have an idea.”
I raised an eyebrow. There are only seven months left until the festival… Can you really finish an outstanding film in such a short time?”
She narrowed her eyes. “Are you doubting my abilities?
“You mean you’ll personally take the lead this time?” she asked, sounding surprised.
Rosaline nodded, confidence shining in her bright eyes. “Seven months is enough. I’ll spend five months writing the script and shooting the film. We will release it as a holiday blockbuster at the end of the year, using your popularity to boost its success. Then we’ll submit it to the International Film Festival–there won’t be any problem at all.”
I gripped the steering wheel tightly, listening intently to Rosaline’s melodic voice.
She was already remarkable, but now, in this moment, she radiated something even more rare–an unparalleled uniqueness no other woman possessed.
How could I not love a woman like this? How could I ever forget her?
Rosaline’s POV:
“Jasper?” I noticed his dazed expression and called his name.
He was driving, after all. If his mind wandered now, we’d both be in danger.
He snapped back to reality, coughing lightly. “Sorry, I got distracted.”
“Is there something on your mind?” I asked, concerned about his state.

We arrived at Starplay Entertainment shortly after.
As we stepped into the building, employees who hadn’t seen their boss in a while whispered among themselves curiously.
When I walked past them, they straightened up and greeted me in unison, “Good afternoon, Ms. Sinclair.”
I acknowledged them with a polite nod before leading Jasper into the elevator and up to my office on the top floor.
The moment we entered, Jasper’s expression turned serious. He handed me his phone. “Are you really going to let this keep spreading online?”
I glanced down and saw that the news of Heidi’s suicide attempt at the hospital was already blowing up across the internet,

I smirked. “The media’s efficiency is impressive.”
“Rosaline, you’re just going to let yourself be slandered like this?” Jasper’s face darkened as he spoke.
“It doesn’t matter, I said nonchalantly, shrugging.
This was exactly what I wanted. Everything was unfolding just as I had planned.
“Alright.”
Jasper sighed, clearly frustrated. “I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
Hurt?” I scoffed. “If I crumbled over a few online comments, do you think I’d still be the Rosaline you know?”
I turned on my computer and pulled up the script, dismissing the issue entirely.

“I have to go,” I said, glancing at the time. Heidi should be waking up soon.
I drove straight to the hospital. Just as I stepped inside the entrance, someone suddenly grabbed my wrist and yanked me into an empty room.
What are you doing?” I looked up and found myself staring at Caden’s chiseled face.
He loomed over me as his gaze tinged with jealousy. “You had so much to talk about with Jasper that you stayed with him for that long?”
“Mr. Holbrook, we’re supposed to be separated now. If someone sees us this close, it wouldn’t be a good look, would it?” I smirked at his obvious jealousy.
This man was ridiculous.
We agreed that this was just an act, yet here he was, actually getting jealous.
I hadn’t even gotten upset about him and Heidi yet!
“What did you just call me?” His expression darkened.
“It’s working hours now, of course, I should call you Mr. Holbroo–mmph?!” Before I could finish, Caden pressed his lips against mine, cutting off my words.
My eyes widened. What the hell? Why did he have to kiss me without warning every time?
I shoved him away forcefully. “Enough! Your dear Tessa should be waking up soon. You should head back before

Caden finally let me go reluctantly. “Stay away from Jasper next time,” he warned.

I forced a weak smile onto my face. “Caden… why are you here?”
“Tessa, you’re awake?” Caden stepped closer, looking down at me.

Ryan shot them a glare. “Can’t you see I’m busy? You guys have fun without me. I’ll be back later.”
Soon, Ryan pulled his car up in front of us and opened the door. “Get in, Rosie.”

Yura wouldn’t stop crying the whole way back. “Timothy said he fell in love with someone else and he broke up with me just like that. We’ve been together for five years–how could he do this?”

“My phone was on silent by accident, I explained.
“Where are you? With Jasper?” His tone carried a distinct note of jealousy.
I rolled my eyes. “What nonsense are you talking about Yura got drunk, so I took her back to a hotel.”

“If we handle everything cleanly, Mr. Holbrook won’t even realize what happened, Lilian continued, relieved that I was on board. “We’ll inform the press in advance, ensuring that every media outlet covers the story. Once it’s done, Mr. Holbrook will have no choice but to marry you.”
“What if he refuses?” I still had my doubts.
“How could he?” Lilian’s eyes gleamed with cunning. “Once you two have shared that level of intimacy, he won’t have a say in it. Eclipse Pack is one of the most distinguished noble families in the Werewolf

I nodded slightly. “And even if he refuses, my grandpa won’t. Wild Pack may not be as powerful as Eclipse Pack, but we’re still one of the top packs in Rivemon. Caden dares to abandon me, then I’ll drag him down with me–whatever it takes!”
“Don’t worry, Wendy. You will succeed. Congratulations in advance, future Luna of Elipse Pack, Lilian flattered.
Her words were music to my ears. I patted her hand with satisfaction. “Rest assured, Lilian, once I get what I want, I won’t forget you.”
Thank you, Wendy!” Lilian beamed.
The anniversary gala was in a few days. This time, I wouldn’t leave anything to chance.
I was willing to do whatever it took.
No matter what, I had to become Caden’s woman–the future Luna of Eclipse Pack.
Caden, the noble and untouchable heir, would belong to me!
I wouldn’t hesitate even if it meant using the most underhanded tricks.
Besides, I had already thought of a flawless plan. I even intended to drug myself–so if Caden got angry afterward. I could claim that I was a victim too. That we were both set up.
I had even found the perfect scapegoat..
Now, all that was left was to wait for the anniversary gala.
Caden’s POV:
Yale entered the room, holding a document in his hands. “Mr. Holbrook, I need your signature on this.”
“Mm.” I acknowledged him with a simple hum, taking the document and flipping through it. With a swift motion, I signed my name in bold, confident strokes.
“This is an invitation from the Wild Pack, Yale continued, presenting a red invitation with gold trim. “Their 50th Anniversary Gala is the day after tomorrow!
“Leave it here. Prepare a suitable gift for the occasion,” instructed indifferently.
No matter what, I would extend them that courtesy.
“Yes, Mr. Holbrook, Yale responded respectfully. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”
As he turned to go, I looked up and asked, “Has Rosaline come in for work?”
Yale paused mid–step before answering, “Ms. Sinclair? She took the day off.”
“I see. You may go. I frowned slightly.
Was she still with Yura?
After a moment’s thought, I pulled out my phone and dialed Rosaline’s number.

Rosaline’s POV:
Yura and I were having breakfast at a café near our hote when my phone rang. It was Caden.
“What do you need?” I answered flatly.
Why was he calling me this early in the morning?

“Do I need a reason to call you?” Caden’s voice carried a hint of displeasure. “Rosaline, don’t you miss me?”
I sighed, rubbing my temple. “Tin busy”
Yura was still heartbroken, looking completely lost and miserable. I had spent all morning trying to console her, but nothing seemed to help.
And now, Caden was calling and acting lovey–dovey with me? Was he trying to make things worse?
There was a brief silence on the other end before Caden spoke again, “The Wild Pack’s 50th Anniversary Gala is the day after tomorrow. Come with me.”
“That’s a bad idea, I refused without hesitation.
I had zero interest in attending that event.
Just the thought of Wendy made me nauseous. I had no intention of giving her another chance to set me up.
“You don’t want to accompany me?” Caden’s tone grew colder.
Sensing his displeasure, I quickly explained, “Don’t you remember? We’re supposed to be fighting right now. If I go with you, all our efforts will be wasted.”
Pausing for a second, I added, “Oh, right. I’ll be at the hospital this afternoon to check on your grandpa again. If everything looks good, he’ll be discharged. You should come pick him up and, while you’re at it, put on another performance.”
“A performance?” Caden sounded confused.
I chuckled. “You know what I mean.”

After hanging up the phone, I looked up and saw Yura clutching her phone tightly, her beautiful eyes brimming with unshed tears.
“What’s wrong?” I asked with concern.
Yura bit her lip, struggling to hold back her tears. “Timothy… blocked me.”
He blocked her?
I was speechless.
What the hell was Timothy doing?
Even if they broke up, did he really have to go that far? Wasn’t that a bit too cruel?
And on top of that, he didn’t even bother to explain anything before blocking her.
If they were truly breaking up, shouldn’t he at least do it properly and officially sever their fated mate bond?
This was just ridiculous!
“I don’t believe he could love someone else.” Yura lowered her red and swollen eyes.
Pain, despair, and unwillingness–it was as if every emotion imaginable was written on her face.
“I don’t believe it either,” I sighed, seeing my best friend in such a state.
It wasn’t that I had any particular faith in Timothy, but Yura was an amazing girl.
Anyone lucky enough to win her heart should treasure her–it was a blessing they’d earned over multiple lifetimes.
More importantly, she was his fated mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess herself!
It didn’t make sense for him to fall in love with someone else.
I couldn’t believe it.
“Yura, don’t lose hope. Anthony is already looking into–he should find out where Timothy is soon.” I squeezed Yura’s hand, offering comfort. “Once we know, I’ll go with you to confront him and get some real
answers.
Honestly. I couldn’t wait to meet this Timothy guy.
I wanted to see with my own eyes just what kind of beauty had managed to make him abandon his
Mate.
If Timothy couldn’t give me a proper explanation, he’d better watch out–because I wouldn’t let him off casily!
“Alright. Yura nodded, but the pain on her face didn’t lessen in the slightest.

For the past few days, I have been coming regularly to check on Richard’s condition. I also stayed in close contact with Bert, keeping track of his recovery.
This morning, I managed to find a moment to call Hughie and update him on Richard’s progress
Hughie told me that if there were no complications, Richard could be discharged soon.
Hearing that. I finally let out a breath of relief.
Even though Richard’s illness was largely caused by Eleanor and Queenie, I still bore a small part of the responsibility,
Now that he was well enough to leave the hospital, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
When I arrived at the hospital, I headed straight to Richard’s room.
Bert was already there, waiting.
“Ms. Sinclair, you’re here,” Bert greeted me, standing up immediately.
“Yes.” I smiled politely and stepped toward Richard’s bed. “Mr. Richard, how are you feeling?
“Refreshed! Better than ever!” Richard stretched lazily, grinning from ear to ear.
“Mr. Richard, let me check your pulse. If everything looks good, you’ll be discharged today.” I reached out to examine him.
“Sounds good.” Richard’s smile widened.
As I checked his pulse, a thought crossed my mind–Calen was probably in Heidi’s room by now.
Caden’s POV:
I stood outside Heidi’s hospital room and knocked lightly.
“Come in,” a nurse answered. She was adjusting Heidi’s IV and quickly stood up respectfully when she saw me. “Mr. Holbrook.”
“Caden, you came to see me?” Heidi was lying on the hospital bed, and her eyes lit up the moment she saw
- mc.
“Yes.” My voice was calm and indifferent. “Tessa, how are you feeling?”
“I’m much better,” Heidi said weakly, forcing a smile. “My wounds were still hurting a lot, but the moment I saw you, all the pain just disappeared.”
“Is that so?” I studied her face intently, my deep gaze filled with scrutiny.
This woman was so different from the girl in my memories.
And yet, if she wasn’t Tessa, how could she possibly know the things that only Tessa and I would remember?

“No, thanks. My grandpa is being discharged today–I’m here to pick him up. My voice remained steady as I turned to leave.
Heidi abruptly threw back her blanket, “Caden, I’ll come with you.”
“That won’t be necessary. You should rest. I deliberately paused..
Heidi had already removed her IV and slipped on her shoes. In just a few quick steps, she was at my side, grabbing my arm. “Caden, I’m really fine. Let me come with you. I haven’t seen Mr. Richard in days–I miss him.”
Just as Rosaline had predicted. Heidi insisted on following me.
I glanced at her before nodding. “Fine. Let’s go.”
Heidi beamed with joy as she wrapped her arm around mine.
Together, we arrived at Richard’s hospital room–just in time to see Rosaline checking his pulse.
“Grandpa.” I stepped inside.
Hearing my voice, Rosaline instinctively looked up.
The moment she saw Heidi clinging to my arm, she instantly exploded.
She let go of Richard’s wrist and stood up angrily. “Caden, what the hell is this supposed to mean?”

I’m here to pick up Grandpa from the hospital. I said eliberately furrowing my brows. “Didn’t you tell me he was being discharged and asked me to come?”
“Then why did you bring her?” Rosaline snapped, pointing straight at Heidi with a face full of anger. “Did I say you should bring her?”
Heidi murmured weakly, “Ms. Sinclair, I’m sorry. Don’t blame Caden–it was my idea to come. I heard Mr. Richard was being discharged and wanted to come along to see him off.
As she spoke, she rested her head against my shoulder.
“Caden, what the hell is this supposed to mean? Rosalie’s face darkened even more. “Are you flaunting your mistress in front of me?”
“You are being unreasonable!” I immediately put on a cold, stern expression and scolded her.
“Ms. Sinclair, if you want to be angry, be angry at me. Don’t take it out on Caden. I just care about Mr. Richard, that’s all.” Heidi said pitifully, looking every bit the fragile damsel in distress–an obvious contrast to Rosaline’s furious expression..
-Rosaline sneered. “You are shameless!”
“Enough, Rosaline!” I snapped, my face taut with frustration. Grandpa is being discharged today. I don’t want to argue with you. Leave!”
“What?
You’re kicking me out?” Rosaline’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Caden, are you really throwing me aside like this? Don’t forget who healed him! If it werent for me, would he have recovered so quickly? Would he even be leaving the hospital today?”
“Is that so?” I scoffed coldly. “If it weren’t for you, Grandpa wouldn’t have collapsed in the first place.” My patience had run out. “Are you leaving or not?”
“So you’re really siding with your mistress now?” Rosaline’s beautiful eyes burned with fury.
Just then, the doors burst open, and a crowd of reporters flooded in.
Originally, they had come to cover Grandpa’s discharge, but upon seeing the heated argument between. Rosaline and me, their hunger for a breaking story took over, and they charged into the room without hesitation.
Seeing the cameras flashing. Heidi’s lips curved into a barely perceptible smirk. She stepped forward and said, “Ms. Sinclair, that’s a terrible accusation. How could I be a mistress? I’ve known Caden far longer than you. We fell in love eight years ago, and he promised to marry me. Technically speaking, you’re the one who came between us.”
“Heidi, you’re practically on your deathbed, and you’re still trying to steal Caden from me?” Rosal scoffed, crossing her arms, her eyes filled with hostility
That’s enough! Rosaline, you’ve truly disappointed me I barked before turning to the werewolf guards nearby. “Get her out of here!”
“Don’t bother–I’ll leave on my own!” Rosaline snapped and stormed out,

Rosaline’s voice was icy as she replied, “No comment.”
Back in the hospital room. Heidi watch!!
Rosaline storm off and then turned to me, gently tugging on my arm. “Caden, Ms. Sinclair seems really upset. What should we do? I didn’t mean to upset her, but she was so cruel to me just now. I just couldn’t hold back…
I glanced at her indifferently. “Don’t bring her up again, Tessa, You must be tired. Go back to your room and rest. I’ll take Grandpa home.”
“Alright. Mr. Richard, I wish you good health and a long life, Heidi said sweetly, smiling at him.
Grandpa looked at her and gave a faint smile in return,
Heidi’s POV;
Caden had someone escort me back to my hospital room.
Outside my door, a group of reporters was already waiting.
The moment they spotted me, they rushed forward, eager to interview me.
“Ms. Tessford, what is your current relationship with Mr. Holbrook?”
I smiled shyly. “You all saw it–Caden and I are, of course, lovers.”
“But Ms. Sinclair accused you of being a mistress. What do you have to say about that?” one reporter pressed.
I lifted my chin slightly. “A mistress? That’s pure slander, Everyone knows that I was Caden’s first love. How could I possibly be a mistress?”
“Ms. Tessford, that makes sense, but the fact remains that Ms. Sinclair is Mr. Holbrook’s fiancée, another reporter pointed out. “Rumors say that although you’re a Beta, you come from an ordinary family, which makes you an unsuitable match for the Eclipse Pack. Meanwhile, Ms. Sinclair is the CEO of Starplay Entertainment. Do you feel pressured by the difference in status?”
“Caden loves me for who I am. Status and background don’t matter. Love should never be about anything else.” I bit my lip, carefully hiding the bitterness in my heart.
So what if I come from an ordinary family?
Once I marry Caden and become the future Luna of the Eclipse Pack, I’ll be the richest woman in the
world.
Rosaline is just a lowly Omega. She’s nothing compared to me.
The reporters continued to prv. “Ms. Tessford, we’ve heard that you have a terminal illness. Given your

“So, what were you and Rosie scheming?” he asked, cycing me. “Were you putting on a show for the reporters?”
I smiled and nodded, admitting, “Grandpa, nothing gets past you.”
The Alpha of the Eclipse Pack stroked his beard, chuckled, and remarked, “I’m still the Alpha here. I’ve been around longer than you’ve been walking.”
He paused then added, “I try not to meddle in young people’s affairs. But remember one thing–never disappoint Rosie.”
“I understand, Grandpa,” I promised.
Soon after, we arrived at the old mansion, and the driver announced, “Alpha, Mr. Caden, we’re here.”
Leslie was already at the gate with the other werewolves ready to greet Richard.
“Alpha, glad you’re out of the hospital, Leslie said with smile, offering a hand to help him.
Richard gave Leslie’s shoulder a grateful pat, “You’ve really stepped up during my illness, Leslie.”
Leslie quickly responded, “It’s the least I could do. Without you, I wouldn’t have…
“Let’s not dwell on the past,” Grandpa cut him off, looking over at me, “Caden, I know you’re busy, you can head back.”
“T’d rather stay a bit longer, Grandpa,” I replied.
Since Grandpa got sick, I have been filled with regrets.
I was too caught up in work and did not spend enough time with him.

Seeing my concern seemed to lift his spirits; he held my hand, smiled, and said, “Of course.”

I was on my phone and saw the news about Caden going to the hospital to pick up Richard, with Rosaline. and Heidi having a confrontation, and eventually, getting driven away by Caden.
“Really?” Eleanor looked surprised, “I thought Caden likes that Omega, how did they suddenly fall out?”
“It’s true!” I handed her the phone excitedly. “Aunt Eleanor, look, today Grandpa was discharged, and Caden drove Rosaline away.”
Eleanor quickly grabbed the phone and saw the close–up of Rosaline being escorted away by the werewolf guards.
“It must be because of Heidi… that Tessa, Eleanor murmured, squinting.
“Aunt Eleanor, now that Caden and Rosaline have fallen out, do you think he’ll let us out?” I asked, hopeful.
Could this be my chance?
I adore him, but he barely notices me.
The heir of the Eclipse Pack has always been so aloof towards me.
If it were not for that, why would I have risked poisoning Richard to frame Rosaline?
Sadly, my plan backfired.
Instead of getting rid of Rosaline, Caden locked me up because of it!
Eleanor shook her head, looking resigned, “Silly girl, Caden is keeping us here because of Mr. Crawford.”
“What should we do now? Maybe we could ask Grandpa Now that he’s better, perhaps he’ll convince Caden to let us go. I suggested, biting my lip tentatively

I had assumed Caden was just upset and would eventually release us out of familial obligation, especially since Eleanor is his biological mother.
However, as days pass, Caden shows no signs of letting us go.

Watching his car drive away, I sighed contentedly.
My grandson, often so caught up in work, now making time to be with me–I was genuinely touched.
My recent illness seems to have deepened his relationship with Rosic.
If they can solidify their bond, I am ready to hand over the Alpha role to him.
“Sir, please rest early,” Leslie suggested, assisting me back to my room.
Just as I entered. my phone rang.
Glancing at the caller ID, I saw it was my daughter–in–law, currently under house arrest.
A frown crossed my face; her actions, conspiring with Queenie to poison me for her selfish gains, had deeply disappointed me.
If not for Caden’s father, I would have long expelled her from the Eclipse Pack to fend for herself.
I declined the call, but it rang again immediately.

“Then you should understand why Caden wouldn’t let you leave.” I snorted coldly, clearly unimpressed. “You’ve disappointed me deeply by doing such a thing!
“Dad, we didn’t want to either!” Eleanor’s voice carried hint of grievance. “It was Donny! He’s held a grudge ever since you expelled him, and he wanted revenge. He threatened Queenie and me with death. If we didn’t comply, he would kill us. What were we supposed to do?”
“Heh.” I let out a sarcastic laugh, not believing a word she was saying now,

“That’s good. I also hope that Caden can uncover the truth and not let his father’s death be in vain.” The memory of my son lost at sea years ago weighed heavily on me, darkening my tone.
“Dad, do you really think so?” Her voice grew cold again “What if Caden discovers the reasons behind his father’s trip that year? What if he learns those secrets? What will he do?”
Her words made my heart skip a beat. “What do you know?”
“I know everything. The night before George went to sea, I overheard your conversation with him in the study.” Her tone was smug, “Dad, you haven’t forgotten, have you?”
She paused, then smirked. “It’s okay if you’ve forgotten, I can remind you. What will Caden do if he finds. out it was his beloved Grandpa who sent his father to his death?”
1 fell silent.
“Speaking of which, my being a widow all these years is also thanks to you!” Eleanor added sharply. And about the Eclipse Pack, do you really think I don’t know You know why you took in Donny.”
I remained silent, overwhelmed as memories of the past came flooding back.
In a low voice, I finally asked, “What do you want?”
“Dad, I want nothing.” Her tone grew increasingly triumphant. “It’s just that Queenie and I can’t stand being locked up any longer. You should ask Caden to let us out. You know, when people are confined too long, they get irritable. And irritable people might slip up and say things they shouldn’t. It wouldn’t be good if I accidentally said something in front of Caden, would it
“Are you threatening me?” I asked sharply.
“Dad, why must you see it that way? Caden is my son too, and I don’t want him to learn these things,” she replied, her tone sugary yet venomous. “Think about it Dad. Remember, you’re still the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack. Don’t take too long to decide, my patience is wearing thin.”
“Fine, I’ll make sure Caden releases you,” I conceded grudgingly, and I’ll overlook the poisoning incident.” I added sternly, “But if you step out of line again or concoct any more schemes, remember–I know how to deal with threats.”

“That’s great!” My excitement was palpable, and I nearly leaped from my seat. Finally, freedom was within reach!
“By the way, Aunt Eleanor, did you mention to Grandpa about something Caden doesn’t know regarding Uncle’s death?” I asked, my curiosity piqued.
I had unintentionally overheard some of Aunt Eleanor’s conversation with Richard. Though I had not caught every detail, it was clear that she held some sort of leverage over the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack, connected somehow to Uncle’s death.
Eleanor’s expression chilled. “It’s ancient history. You don’t need to concern yourself with it.
“Oh. Disappointment washed over me, but I nodded obediently. “Aunt Eleanor, are we really going to be able to go out soon?”

“Not exactly,” he chuckled. “It’s about BPL. I think you’ll be interested.”
“Okay, enough with the suspense. Just tell me what’s happening! I urged, rubbing my temples in frustration.
“Well, you know how BPL resorted to some underhanded tactics to secure the Azure Bay project bid, right?” Anthony’s voice held a hint of triumph. “Now, the Rivemon government has made their move, and Everett is secretly offloading Azure Bay land.”
“That is indeed good news,” I replied with a smirk. “Thanks!”

He clearly did not grasp the full implications of what was happening with the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack today.
“Regardless, she is still your mother, so let them out in a few days.”

Caden was clearly stunned, and I felt a sinking sensation in my heart as well.
Did I hear that correctly?
Richard was actually asking Caden to release Eleanor and Queenie?
Had the Alpha forgotten how these two had harmed him?
“Grandpa, why?” Caden’s eyes were dark and troubled, His voice tinged with cold confusion.

Richard sighed softly, “I am getting old, and I just want the family to reunite and live in peace. Since your mother and Queenie realize their mistakes, give them a chance to make amends.”
“Grandpa, why?” Caden pressed. “They tried to harm you with poison, didn’t they? I’ve already detained them. That was the least…

Caden fell silent for a few moments before responding, “Fine.”
“That’s all.” Richard concluded and hung up..
Caden looked up at me, his voice cold, “You heard it too. Grandpa has asked me to release my mother and Queenie.
“Why?” I nodded, equally puzzled.
Caden shook his head, a mix of frustration and disbelief in his expression. “I don’t know why Grandpa suddenly changed his mind. He said he wanted to give my mother and Queenie a chance to make
Make amends?
The thought seemed almost laughable. I could almost see Eleanor and Queenie’s faces in my mind–if they truly had a conscience and knew repentance, they would not have attempted something as heinous as poisoning their own Alpha.
Does Richard genuinely believe they will reform and alter the behavior?
“Do you think they can really change?” I asked skeptically, a mocking smile playing on my lips.
Caden’s eyes darkened, a hint of icy resolve forming. “Whether I believe it or not, Grandpa is the Alpha, and I must follow his commands.”
“Aren’t you worried they might try something again?” My heart clenched with concern.
Caden’s voice deepened, firm and decisive, “I won’t give them another opportunity to harm us. I’ll be watching them closely.”
I nodded, still mulling over the situation.

Could it be that with age, one’s heart softens?
However, since Caden has spoken, I could not argue further.
After all, this is a matter for their pack.
Wendy’s POV:
Decked out in my finest, I rode the elevator to the top bor and made my way directly to the CEO’s office of the Wild Pack.
I knocked and heard Michael’s stern voice from within. Come in.”
I entered. “Michael!”
Michael looked up, surprised, “Wendy? What brings you here?”
I twirled in front of him. “Michael, do I look beautiful today?”
“Very beautiful, Michael’s eyes softened slightly.
I held my head high with pride.
Tonight marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Wild Pack, and a grand celebration is planned.
As the sole heiress of this group, I must be the most stunning woman at the banquet.
However, I have an even more critical agenda for the evening.
Tonight, I plan to seduce Caden and mate with him!
I intend for him to mark me on my neck, binding him to me for life!
For this occasion, I chose a spaghetti strap V–neck short dress that’s both seductive and elegant–just the style Caden would appreciate.
Tonight’s plan is crucial; it must not fail!
With a burst of excitement, I walked up and hugged Michael’s neck. “Michael, will Caden be at the banquet tonight?”
Michael looked down at me, his tone resigned, “He said he would be here yesterday.”

Michael shook his head, resigned.
He took out his phone, dialed Caden Holbrook’s number, and put it on speaker.
“Mr. Crawford, what’s up?” came Caden’s resonant voice through the phone.
Michael cleared his throat, “Nothing major, just a reminder to not forget about the Wild Pack’s 50th- anniversary banquet tonight. We’re counting on your support.
“All right, I’ll be there on time,” Caden responded.
Thank you,” Michael ended the call and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. “Wendy, does that put your mind at ease?”
Thank you, Michael!” I exclaimed, beaming, and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. I knew you always looked out for me the most!”

The 50th–anniversary banquet of the Wild Pack was held in the hotel banquet hall that bore its name.
I arrived early, my eyes darting to the entrance periodically, anxious for a glimpse of the werewolf who had been on my mind incessantly.
“Wendy, don’t worry, Mr. Holbrook will be here soon, Lilian, noticing my nervousness, reassured me.
“Is everything ready?” I glanced at Lilian.
“Of course, everything’s set, don’t worry,” she responde with a comforting smile.
“Okay.” I nodded, trying to calm my nerves.
Suddenly, a voice rang out, “Mr. Holbrook is here!”
All heads turned toward the entrance.
Caden entered, his presence nearly palpable. Dressed in a sleek, black handmade suit, he stood tall and imposing. His features were sharply defined, almost as if sculpted by divine hands, his aura one of undeniable nobility and allure. It was difficult to look away.
My heart raced as I watched him..
Tonight, if all went according to plan, the most coveted their of the Werewolf Continent would be mine.
The thrill of anticipation surged through me.
As Caden walked into the hall, reporters quickly gathered around him.
“Mr. Holbrook, are you attending the banquet alone today? Did you not bring a female companion?”
“Mr. Holbrook, the fact that you didn’t bring Ms. Rosaline Sinclair with you, does that mean you two have broken up?”
“Have you started dating Ms. Heidi Tessford? Can you give us some insight?”
Caden’s handsome face grew stern at the barrage of questions, and with a slight lift of his lips, he stated coolly, “I’m sorry, I’m not giving interviews.
Seizing the moment, I approached him, “Caden, you’re here.”
He glanced at me, his expression unreadable, and nodded slightly.
“Michael is over there. Let me take you to him,‘ I offered warmly, my gaze filled with affection.
“I’ll go by myself, he replied, his tone and demeanor chilly.
I hesitated, then followed at a distance.
Patience was key. Soon, he would be mine.

Even though it was the 50th–anniversary celebration of the Wild Pack, Caden was still the center of
attention.
Wherever he went, people approached him eager to curry favors and network.
After all, the Eclipse Pack was the top noble family in Rivemon. Winning Caden’s favor was like reaching the sky–everyone wanted this honor.
I could not take my eyes off him.
Amid the clinking of glasses, Caden had already had quite a bit to drink.
After a while, I received a text from Lilian. “It’s time. He’s gone to the lounge on the second floor.”
My heart raced when I saw the message.
I grabbed a nearby glass of wine and downed it, feeling my body start to warm up.
I made my way towards the second–floor lounge.
As I reached the lounge door, I took a deep breath and pushed it open.
Caden’s POV:
Slumped on the lounge couch, I felt unusually dizzy and warm, a clear sign I had too much to drink–or so it seemed.
“There must have been something wrong with the drinks earlier, Edward had warned.
I rubbed my temples, feeling a chill despite the warmth
Who would tamper with my drink, and why?
I quickly texted Beta for help, but before I could get up, the door swung open, and a slender figure in revealing attire stepped in.
Squinting, I recognized her immediately. “Wendy?”
Wendy’s POV:
I noticed Caden’s flushed face as I entered; his jacket was off, and his shirt was partly unbuttoned, revealing his muscular chest..
My eyes locked onto him reclining on the couch, the sight of his strong build under those clothes sending a thrill through me.
Just the thought was enough to ignite a fire within me.
I found myself swallowing nervously, my heart pounding faster as excitement surged through me.
The wolf within was stirring, pushing me toward Caden, urging me to close the distance between us.
I sat down next to him, leaning in close, my voice low and sultry, “Caden, I feel so hot.”

I could tell he was still under the influence.

Despite the situation, I knew Caden was not one to be easily deceived.
If he discovered later that he had been drugged, there would be severe consequences.
Therefore, I had taken precautions.
I had ingested the same drug, positioning myself as another victim of circumstances.
This way, even if he investigated, it would appear that too had been affected unwillingly.

With the pressures from the pack and the complicated dynamics of our community, I was certain that once faced with this scandal, Caden would choose to take responsibility and align with me to protect both our reputations.
With these thoughts fueling my resolve, I could not hold back any longer.
The drug was taking its effect on me as well.
My hands roared to his chest, feeling the heat emanating from his skin, and I began to unbutton the rest

“How dare you drug me?” Caden pulled away sharply, his face flushed as he sternly accused, “The mighty Ms. Wendy of the Wild P pack, resorting to such despicable means!”
“I didn’t,” I stammered, trembling at his reaction.
I was amazed by Caden’s self–control. Even now, he could still restrain himself.
I could not afford to fail!
I did not believe that under the drug’s influence, any man could resist the pull of passion.
“I don’t know what’s happening. I feel so hot all over. Are you feeling the same?” I pressed closer to him, my hands hooking around his neck, my lips inching towards his.
The drug’s effects clouded my senses, urging me towards intimacy.
Caden’s face turned even redder–clearly, the drug had fully taken hold.
His eyes clouded as he reached out, touching my face, murmuring softly, “Rosaline …”
Rosaline?
I was taken aback. Was he thinking about Rosaline even now?
A surge of anger welled up inside me.
I told myself, even if he mistook me for Rosaline, so what?
Once we mated, I would secure my place as the future Luna of the Eclipse Pack!
With that thought, I leaned in and kissed him directly.
Caden’s POV:
A strong scent of perfume hit my nose, jarring me to alertness.
This is not Rosaline!
Rosaline never wears perfume.
I turned my face away, dodging Wendy’s kiss.
“Caden, look at me,” Wendy insisted, using her hand to turn my face toward her.
Still disoriented from the drug, I tried to evade her grasp.
“Caden, I really like you. I’ve liked you since we were teenagers, for over ten years,” Wendy said earnestly, trying to draw closer again. “You must feel something for me, right?”
As Wendy attempted to wrap her arms around me again, her lips inching closer, I mustered all my strength.

“Wendy is audacious, resorting to drugging you. Such disgraceful actions from someone in the Wild Pack -it’s appalling,” Yale commented with disgust as he escorted me to the car.
“Sir, should we head to the hospital?” He asked, concerned.
I frowned, contemplating my next move. “No, take me to Rosaline’s place,” I decided.
Rosaline’s POV:
I was deep into reviewing submissions for the Phoshire design competition when my phone rang. It was Anthony.
“Wilda, I’ve located the person you asked about last time,” he said, his voice booming over the phone.
“Really?” I perked up. “Did you find where Timothy is?”
“Yes, he’s in a small, remote town in Yerkshire.” Anthony replied, readying to send me the details. “I’ll text you the address shortly. It’s quite a hidden spot.”
“Thanks, send it over as soon as you can,” I responded, already planning my next steps.
Timothy was indeed hiding in a remote little town. In such a secluded place, who could be better suited than Yura?
Not long after hanging up, Anthony sent over the address.
I dialed Yura’s number next.
She had been feeling low, desperately wanting to locate Timothy but without any leads.
Now that Anthony had located the address, finding Timothy should be easy.
“Rosaline, do you need something?” Yura’s voice was weak.
“Yura, Anthony has found Timothy’s address,” I told her straightforwardly.
“Really? Where is he?” Yura’s voice brightened immediately, her interest piqued.
“He’s in Yerkshire, a very remote little town,” I noted as looked at the address, “probably the kind where cars can’t even drive in.”
Yura asked eagerly, “Is there a specific address?”
“Yes, I’ll send it to you right away,” I replied.
“Thank you I’ll hook a flight to Verkshire immediately Yura said clearly impatient.

His grip was unexpectedly strong, and before I could react, I was pushed down onto the couch.

“Stay calm,” I urged, trying to keep my voice steady.
It seems like Caden was heavily drugged.
“Rosaline, I want you,” Caden breathed out heavily, his gaze burning into me.
His body was like a furnace against mine.
He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine, the heat from his mouth overwhelming.
His kiss was forceful, lacking any of the gentleness I knew from him.
Suddenly, the kiss was not enough for him. His hand moved aggressively, slipping inside my bra to touch me inappropriately.
I struggled to remove his hand, but then his other hand began to tear at my clothing.
He ripped through half of my skirt with alarming strength.
I stiffened, managed to slap him hard, and summoned my Alpha strength to push him back.
“You can’t do this!” I yelled at him.
Drugged beyond reason, Caden seemed unable to recognize my Alpha authority or even my scent.
He growled lowly, a primal sound, “We’re about to be engaged, Rosaline. I want you! Give yourself to me!”
“No, not like this!” I protested, pushing him back as he lunged toward me again.
I had always believed that intimacy should be reserved for a truly special occasion–like our wedding night.

This whole scenario had been orchestrated for a reason?
After a moment’s thought, I responded seriously, “We need to wait until we’re married.”
Wendy’s POV:
I lay on the ground, weakened by the encounter with Caden.

“Why send me away? If I leave, who will keep you company and make you happy?” He leered at me, his gaze unsettling.
“Yes, yes, such smooth skin, a slender figure, truly a noble and charming presence, perfect for a top–quality Beta!”
He helped me up and sat me on the couch, eyeing me up and down.
“Ms. Wendy, moments like this are fleeting and should be cherished. Don’t worry, I promise you’ll be satisfied!” He said as he began to undo my clothes, his hands boldly caressing me.
“Let go of me!” I protested, my remaining sense of propriety trying to push him

I am the heiress of the Wild Pack; how could I surrender my dignity to such a man?
Yet, the discomfort and the strange longing were overwhelming.
Each touch sparked a fire within me, intensifying my need.

“Ms. Crawford, how long have you two been together? When do you plan to go public with this relationship?”
Blushing, I quickly grabbed my clothes to cover up. “Get out! I don’t know him!”
“Ms. Crawford, you don’t know him? Then why were you two together here at the Wild Pack’s 50th anniversary celebration?”
“Get out of here!”
Michael and Grandpa, who had hurried over after hearing the noise, stood at the door with grim expressions.
I could not bring myself to look at them; I just kept my head down and hurried to dress.
Grandpa walked up and delivered a sharp slap to the werewolf in the floral shirt.
Michael removed his suit jacket and draped it over me. What’s going on here?”
“Michael, I’ve been framed!” I sobbed, though I could not reveal the full story.
Today’s debacle was all part of my own plan.
First, I orchestrated a scenario to be seen with Caden, then had Lilian tip off the reporters as well as the Alpha of the Wild Pack and Michael.
I had not anticipated that Caden, even drugged, would manage to push me away and summon Yale to take him away.
Adding insult to injury, they sent a flamboyantly dressed werewolf to distract me!
Now, surrounded by reporters, I was facing the consequences of my own scheme.
However, I was relieved that the reporters had interrupted before anything more could happen with the werewolf.
Still, my current disheveled state had been fully documented, utterly ruining my reputation!

“I–I was drugged,” I claimed, gritting my teeth.
“We must investigate this thoroughly!” Grandpa’s eyes blazed with anger, his Alpha presence so intense it made me shudder.
“Grandpa, let it be. I’m fine now,” I pleaded–softly while grasping his hand.
I knew that if Grandpa delved deeper, he would uncover that it was all my own doing.
Unfortunately, one move short, and the whole endeavor falls short!

Grandpa shot me a stern look before exiting the room.

“Yeah,” I nodded faintly, unease lingering as I recalled the conversation with Rosaline from last night.

After freshening up, I went to the dining room.

The slight unhappiness from last night disappeared when I saw the breakfast.
In my heart, there was only a sense of happiness.
“Try it. See if it tastes good.” Rosaline picked up a fried egg and placed it on my plate.
I raised an eyebrow, jokingly saying, “As long as it’s made by my wife, it’s the most delicious in the world.”

I chuckled lightly, “Soon enough.”
“By the way, who drugged you last night?” Rosaline changed the subject.

Rosaline pondered, “I knew it was her.”
I was surprised. “You guessed it?”
Rosaline smiled and took out her phone, opening the headline news. “See for yourself.”
I took the phone and looked down.
There was sensational news about Wendy mingling with a werewolf at the Wild Pack’s 50th anniversary banquet.
“Now Wendy’s reputation is completely ruined,” Rosaline pursed her lips, deep in thought. “The werewolf incident with Wendy, was that your doing?”
I handed the phone back to Rosaline, sneering, “Just a little lesson.”

Rosaline’s POV:
I was stunned. “What?”
“Just now, Timothy called me and said there’s a big earthquake in Yerkshire, all the buildings have collapsed, and he’s trapped under the rubble,” Yura cried over the phone.
“No way… ” I instinctively said, “How could a sudden earthquake happen out of nowhere?”
“It’s true! Timothy just called me, but he didn’t say much and hung up. When I called back, I couldn’t get through.” Yura was anxious. “I’m going to the airport right away. I have to go to Yerkshire to find him immediately!”
“Yura, don’t panic. Wait for me at the hotel, and I’ll come find you right away,” I pondered. “If there really is a major earthquake in Yerkshire, the planes will be grounded, so going to the airport won’t help.”
“Rosaline, I’m so scared … What if something happened to Timothy?” Yura’s worry for Timothy made her words jumbled.
“Wait for me!”
I hung up the phone, about to speak, but then Caden handed me his phone with a serious expression, “Just came out in the news, Yerkshire has experienced a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.”
“What? Is what Yura said true?” My heart skipped a beat.
Yerkshire really had a major earthquake!
And Timothy …
According to Yura, Timothy was trapped under the rubble, which meant his chances of survival were slim.
I stiffened, quickly packed up, and headed towards the door. “I’m going to find Yura. Caden, arrange a plane for me. I’m going to Yerkshire with Yura.”
“It’s too dangerous.” Caden followed me. “Rosaline, don’t go. I’ll send someone else. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake is no joke. There will be many aftershocks. It’s very dangerous to go there recklessly.”

Chapter 400 Heading to Yerkshire
Together with Caden, I rushed towards the hotel, constantly checking my phone along the way.
The news was flooded with updates on the carthquake Yerkshire.
My brow furrowed; Timothy was right at the epicenter and the outlook wasn’t good.
We quickly arrived at the hotel, and I headed straight to Yura’s room.

She looked distraught and, upon seeing me, grabbed my hand anxiously. “Rosaline, what should we do? Will Timothy be okay?”
I patted her shoulder reassuringly. “Since he managed to call you, he should be alright.”
“But the call got cut off after just a few words. I’ve tried calling back but couldn’t get through,” she replied, her voice tinged with worry.
“After the earthquake, it’s normal for communications to be disrupted, including towers,” I explained.
I turned to Caden. “Is everything arranged?”
I’ll check with Beta,” he responded, pulling out his phone to call Yale.
Soon after, Yale arrived at the hotel in a car.
Yura and I got in, and we headed towards the airport.
Several private planes of the Eclipse Pack were parked on the runway.
Hundreds of werewolf warriors stood in formation, saluting respectfully as they saw Caden and me. “Mr. Holbrook, Ms. Sinclair!”
Seeing the well–trained warriors and everything so meticulously arranged warmed my heart.
I had initially thought about calling in warriors from the Shadow Pack for support, but that seemed
unnecessary now.
These forces were more than sufficient to help find Timothy.
Of course, I was doing all this for Yura.
“Thank you,” I said to Caden.
“Do you really not want me to come with you?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.
I shook my head. “Stay here and keep an eye on Heidi and BPL. Contact us if you have any news.”
Seeing my resolve, Caden did not push further.
Yura and I boarded the plane, took off, and headed straight for Yerkshire.
As I gazed at the clouds drifting past the window, my thoughts were heavy.

Sensing the tension, Yura bit her lip and said, “I’m sorry Rosaline, knowing you’re afraid of heights and still asking you to come with me.”
“We are sisters in all but blood; your concerns are mine I reassured her with a smile.
Despite my fear of heights, my
Concern for her outweighed my own discomfort.
Yura looked weary, so I invited her to rest her head on my shoulder. “Try to rest; I’ll wake you when we land in Yerkshire.”
“I can’t sleep,” she murmured, the worry clear in her voice.
The uncertainty surrounding Timothy’s fate made rest impossible.
An hour later, our plane touched down at Yerkshire’s airport.
“We’re here!” I announced, helping Yura off the plane.
Caden had arranged for a local rescue team to meet us, and they were already waiting.
“What’s the current situation?” I inquired as soon as we met the team leader.
“The earthquake has affected a vast area, and we’re spread thin,” the leader explained. “Our teams are currently focused on several major cities.”
Yura, anxious, cut in, “What about the Harford Mountain area?”
“That region was severely hit, with ongoing aftershocks. It’s very risky to go there now,” he replied with a
grave tone.
Yura’s face set with resolve. “I have to go. Timothy is waiting for me to rescue him!” she declared.
The risks weighed heavily on my mind. Going in hastily was dangerous, but waiting beyond the critical 72- hour window for rescues could mean losing any hope of finding Timothy alive.
“We’re going now,” I decided firmly.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find him as soon as we can,” I promised Yura.
As we prepared to leave, a familiar figure approached us.
From a distance, he waved energetically. “Rosie! Yu!”
“Ryan? What are you doing here?” I exclaimed in surprise.
Ryan hastened over, his tone light despite the circumstances. “You scared me! We were filming nearby when the earthquake hit.”
“Are you all okay?” I asked, concerned.
Ryan’s company, Storm Entertainment, was a major player in the industry, and he, as the CEO and heir of the Storm Pack, was well known.

“We’re fine. Fortunately, we weren’t at the epicenter. One director was slightly injured and is in the hospital. This film is not going to happen anymore, and the rest of us are preparing to head back.”
“Good to hear you’re okay,” I replied, relieved.

“By the way, Rosie, why are you here?” Ryan looked at the crowd of werewolf warriors before him. “What’s all this?”
He then noticed Yura’s distress. “Yu, you look so pale. What’s wrong?”
Tears welled up in Yura’s eyes. “My boyfriend is in the Harford Mountain area.”
“Damn, that’s right at the epicenter! Your boyfriend? Is it the same guy you broke up with before? That
means …
I cut him off with a stern look. “Ryan, maybe keep it down.”
“Sorry!” he quickly apologized. “Are you guys heading to Harford Mountain for a rescue? I’ll come with you.”
“No need. You should head back to Rivemon,” I insisted, not wanting to bear the responsibility should anything happen to him.
However, Ryan followed us anyway. “More people, more strength. Maybe I’ll be the one to rescue Yu’s boyfriend!”
We all boarded a helicopter and headed towards the Harford Mountain area.
Trying to lighten the mood, Ryan attempted to cheer Yura up. “Yu, let me tell you a joke …
“Ryan, can you please be quiet?” Yura was clearly not in the mood, her thoughts consumed by Timothy.
After being silenced, Ryan sighed, “Okay, okay, I’ll be quiet. Yu, don’t worry too much. With all of us here, we’ll definitely find your boyfriend. And if he ever dares to mistreat you, I, Ryan, will be the first to step in!”
