“Alpha! Good news, the enemy retreated after taking the hunting grounds and mineral veins. We’ve found out their identity. It’s a large wolf pack across the river. Their Alpha is from the eastern forests-last name Harrison. I heard you went to the same school when you were young. Do you know him?”
Grayson’s coffee cup slipped from his fingers, crashing to the floor with a sharp crack. Hot liquid splashed across his shoes, but
he didn’t even notice.

His steps froze completely, his entire body going rigid. The color drained from his face as his brow furrowed so deeply it looked
painful.

“What did you say?” His voice came out as barely a whisper.
“Logan Harrison?”

“Yes, that’s him, Alpha. Did you two have conflicts before? He’s never tried to take our southern territories before-this is the
first time. Don’t know where he got our defense maps.”
Grayson’s hands started trembling. He gripped the phone so tightly his knuckles went white.
“The investigation into traitors will take more time. I’ll do my best, but-”
“Shut up,” Grayson snarled. “Just find the traitor. Now.”
He hung up without another word, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
Logan Harrison. That name echoed in his head like a death sentence.

Grayson turned the word “conflicts” over and over in his mind, each repetition making his wolf more agitated.
Conflicts? That was putting it mildly.
After what felt like an eternity, he suddenly threw back his head and laughed. But there was no humor in it-only bitter, hollow
sound that made his Beta assistant step back in alarm.
“What a piece of work, Logan Harrison.”
His voice dripped with venom.
“Twelve years, and he still hadn’t given up!”
Back in their final year at the academy, Logan had been his roommate. They’d shared everything-training schedules, meal
times, even study sessions. Grayson had considered him a friend.
Until Logan saw me.
I remember that day clearly. I was walking across the courtyard, my head down, trying to avoid the stares and whispers that

That very night, he’d emptied his bank account-his entire month’s allowance and more. He’d bought 99 red roses, each one
perfect, each one expensive.
The next morning, he’d stood below the girls’ dormitory and shouted his confession for everyone to hear.

His public declaration had sent shockwaves through the academy. The Alpha heir, confessing to the outcast girl? It was
