I didn’t have much of a choice. Starplay Entertainment had been caught in one scandal after another lately, and the string of bad press was starting to turn public opinion sharply against us.
After the incident, the backlash online toward Yvette and Byron was completely out of control. People weren’t just angry–they were ruthless.
The internet was full of nasty accusations, saying Yvette had used under–the–table methods and that she had no sense of professionalism. According to the rumors, she cozied up to the company’s director right after joining, which was supposedly how she managed to release a hit single so soon after debuting.
Some even dug up the old plagiarism controversy with Scott, using that to paint Yvette as someone who didn’t deserve a place in the industry at all.
Yvette was still a rookie. The fact that she’d landed such good opportunities so quickly was enough to make people jealous. Now that the rumors were out, the envy and resentment inside the company flared up. Many believed she only got ahead because of her innocent–looking face and the favor she’d won from Byron. Otherwise, how else could a newcomer have access to such prime resources?
In just a few days, Yvette had become the target of constant criticism, both inside and outside the company. Even Byron’s position had taken a hit–people who had long coveted his role were starting to make their moves, hoping to push him out and take his place.
I sat in my office, scrolling through the noisy chaos on Twitter, feeling a pounding headache come on. In desperation, I hired a few online PR accounts to try to redirect public opinion, but it was no use. The moment those posts went up, they were immediately met with a wave of insults and mockery.
By noon, I had already received multiple complaint emails from people within the company.
Most of them accused Byron of abusing his authority, giving Yvette all the best resources while ignoring the rest of the staff.
Just as I was trying to figure out how to clean up the mess, a headline suddenly popped up on my feed.
“Eclipse Group Sees Sudden Financial Decline.”
My heart skipped a beat.

I grabbed my phone without hesitation and dialed his number.
Caden’s POV:
Rosaline called just as I was in the middle of handling the crisis at the company.
I’d spent the past few days at the hospital with her, and in that short time, some of my employees saw an opportunity. They stole one of our project proposals and sold it to a rival company for a huge price.
But what they didn’t realize was–I’d let them. The reason Heft the company unattended while staying with Rosaline was to bait these people into exposing themselves.
Eclipse Group is one of the top firms in the country. The projects we develop are top–notch. What they didn’t know, though, was that the proposal they stole had a massive flaw. I’d been too distracted by the

mess with Wendy to fix it, and someone took advantage of that gap.

Now that I think about it, this might be a perfect opportunity to clean out the rot in the company.
After explaining my plan to Rosaline, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and hung up.
Her concern warmed my heart. Right after the call, I ordered Beta to pull up all the recent surveillance footage. Then I gathered a few trusted senior executives to review it with me. I was determined to identify every last one of the culprits.
I was sure there was someone bigger pulling the strings behind the scenes–and I was going to find them.
As for the employees directly responsible for the proposal, I reassigned them to some idle positions and instructed my people to keep a close eye on them. If anything seemed off, I wanted to be notified immediately.
Rosaline’s POV:
While Caden’s company didn’t seem to be in serious trouble, things at Starplay Entertainment were only getting worse.
A bunch of Yvette’s old haters started crawling out of the woodwork, including Scott’s fans from the plagiarism scandal.
Back when Yvette’s new song went viral, those haters didn’t have much of an impact. But now that she was under fire, the tide turned quickly. With everyone piling on, their voices started gaining traction.
Over the past few days, angry fans had even begun posting hateful notes outside Yvette’s house–nasty, vulgar stuff that seriously disrupted her life.
And Yvette was already the soft, sensitive type. After being harassed like this, she completely shut down and stayed holed up at home, too afraid to even step outside.
Byron wasn’t doing great either, though he was still the company’s director, so not many people dared to confront him outright.
But he knew exactly what was going on with Yvette. If he kept standing by her now, it could trigger even more backlash, not just online, but also from within the company.
So now both of them were stuck in a no–win situation, with no idea how to move forward.
I called them in and got straight to the point. “This is where we are now,” I said. “If you two are thinking. about breaking up, I can work with that. I have a way to clear things up publicly. Talk it over and let me
know.”
“Rosaline, is there no other way?” Yvette looked down, her cheeks flushed. Her voice was barely louder than a whisper, but her tone was firm. “I don’t want to break up with Byron.”
Byron looked me straight in the eye with the same resolve. He wasn’t backing down either.
I gave them a small smile. “Then make sure neither of you regrets this.”
