I glanced at the tightly shut office door, then saw Caden stepping out of the elevator, and it all clicked.
No wonder they wouldn’t let me in. Caden wasn’t in the office at all.
“What’s going on here?” Caden’s voice was tense, a chill radiating from him.
“N–nothing.” Wendy stammered, already starting to tremble.
The secretary kept her head down, too scared to look up. I couldn’t help but smirk in disdain and point at the office. “So the office’s empty, huh? Then why did you just say Caden was inside working?”
I glanced at Eleanor standing in the back. She looked embarrassed and avoided my eyes.
“Talk. What’s going on?” Caden’s face darkened, his brows tightly knit. No one dared to look him in the eye.
“It’s nothing. They said you were inside, so I wanted to take a look,” I said, raising an eyebrow. Seeing the cold sweat on Wendy’s forehead only confirmed my suspicions.
I’d never forget the smug look she had earlier.
“So the office was empty, then what exactly was Ms. Crawford doing in there?” I held back my laughter.
“I–I never said I was doing anything in there. Don’t twist my words,” Wendy stammered, her pale face turning bright red.
“Well, then why’s your collar undone? This is a workplace, you know. You wouldn’t want to leave a bad impression dressed like that,” I said, frowning on purpose.
Wendy lowered her head even more, too ashamed to respond.
“She went into my office?” Caden’s expression darkened, his voice turning cold.
As the rightful heir of the Eclipse Pack, he had already made it clear that no one was allowed to enter his office without permission.
Eleanor, who had been so bossy just moments ago, was now silent, standing in the back like she had nothing to do with her.
Wendy’s expression changed. She didn’t expect Eleanor to abandon her like that. Faced with Caden’s question, she was completely at a loss for words.
“I wouldn’t know,” I said with a cold smile. “Ms. Crawford’s so stunning, I doubt she spends her time figuring out how to be someone’s mistress.”
“Mistress? What do you mean?” Caden looked at me, completely confused.
Wendy’s legs started shaking at my words, terrified.
“Ask her yourself,” I said with a smirk.
Gone was her earlier arrogance. She looked like she was about to collapse. I couldn’t help but cover my mouth, holding back a laugh.
“Ms. Sinclair, please don’t misunderstand. I didn’t do anything,” Wendy pleaded, trying hard to defend

“Oh! Then maybe you should fix your outfit before talking,” I said, glancing at the open part of her outfit, still trying not to laugh.
Wendy obviously realized that if she kept talking, I’d expose all her dirty secrets. She covered her face and fled in embarrassment, the secretary hurrying after her.
Eleanor quickly forced a smile at Caden, then followed behind them.
I burst out laughing, holding my stomach as I watched them leave. Caden glanced at their retreating figures, puzzled. “What were you all doing just now?”
“Nothing, just having a little chat.”
If Caden knew the full story, who knows how mad he’d get? Better not to say too much.
“Then why are you laughing so hard?” He asked, the irritation he’d felt toward Wendy completely gone, replaced by a soft look in his eyes.
“Wasn’t it funny?” I smiled at him.
“Yeah, it was,” he replied, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he watched me laugh.
Feeling the warmth in his gaze, I couldn’t help but hug him and pull him into a sweet, lingering kiss.
Naomi’s POV:
The village was nestled among the mountains, encircled by green rivers, with towering ancient trees.
Looking at the steep, deep gorge before me, I couldn’t help but sigh in awe.
Before I knew it, I’d been filming here in isolation for three months.
The conditions in the mountain village were harsh, but the peace it offered was a welcome relief. There was no online abuse, no public ridicule, which brought me a great sense of calm.
Filming was coming to an end, and soon I would be leaving this place.
As I looked at the endless mountains before me, I felt reluctance.
But I had to go back. I had my work waiting for me, and more importantly, my family.
I took a deep breath, then boarded the bus home, leaving behind the lush green forests that had been my refuge.
When I arrived at the company, I was surprised to see Rosaline waiting by the door to greet me. As I stepped off the bus, she walked over, took my hand, and said, “You’ve worked hard. Take a good rest now.”
“Rosaline, I missed you so much!” I said, about to rush over to hug her, but she quickly stopped me.
“Don’t do that. I can’t handle it.”
