Counterback of the Despised Luna
Chapter 829 Caden’s Disappearance
Rosaline’s POV:
“You’re awake.”
I slowly opened my eyes and saw a werewolf doctor standing beside my bed.
Opening my dry mouth, I said, “I want some water.”
He quickly passed me a glass of water. After a few gulps, my throat finally relaxed. “Thanks, doc. Where Caden?” I asked, looking around.
The werewolf doctor didn’t answer right away. He just pointed at my hand and said, “You’ve been unconscious for several days. I’ve been giving you IV fluids.”
After a pause, he added, “Mr. Holbrook is missing.”
My eyes widened as I sat up fast. “What did you just say?”
He nodded slowly. “You’ve been unconscious for a week, and he disappeared three days ago.”
I frowned and ran my hands over myself, and then it hit me.
My lips shook as I asked, “My baby… is it still … ?”
The werewolf doctor let out a heavy sigh. “It’s gone.”
The words made me flinch.
I couldn’t accept it. My hand instinctively moved to my now–flat stomach.
Just a few days ago, I could clearly feel a tiny life growing inside me. Now, that feeling was completely gone.
“Don’t worry. It was a miscarriage, but you and Mr. Holbrook can still have kids in the future.”
Tears of pain slipped from the corners of my eyes–tears for my baby, and for myself.
“Ms. Sinclair, it’s fortunate you have an Alpha’s body. That’s why you’re recovering so fast. A regular werewolf wouldn’t have survived this.”
I lifted my head. “How did you know I’m an Alpha?”
“Mr. Holbrook told me. By the way, three days ago, he officially became the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack.”
I froze. So, after Caden became Alpha and his powers grew, he must have been able to sense that I was an Alpha too.
But that didn’t explain why he disappeared.
The werewolf doctor didn’t know/anything, so I couldn’t get any answers.
Caden wouldn’t just disappear for no reason, so I went back to Rivemon and headed straight to the Eclipse Group. It turned out that everyone there was just as worried about him as I was.
While I was there, I heard even more shocking news.
Chapter 829 Caden’s Disappearance
The former Alpha, Mr. Richard, had disappeared as well.
Anger burned inside me. Everything I was going through was because of him. If it hadn’t been for him a wouldn’t have lost my baby.
After that, I rallied every resource from both the Eclipse Pack and the Shadow Pack to search for Caden but strangely, we came up with nothing.
It was like he’d just vanished into thin air, without a single clue left behind.
Panic started creeping in.
Out of sheer desperation, I went online under multiple identities and posted tens of thousands of missing person ads.
But even then, there was still no sign of Caden.
By that point, a whole month had passed since he disappeared.
Where could he have gone?
Caden’s POV:
I knew Rosaline was worried and searching for me.
But my disappearance wasn’t random. I had a purpose.
I’d been planning a huge surprise for her.
After an entire month of work, it was finally ready.
The first thing I did was call the company’s vice president.
As soon as he picked up, he practically shouted, “Mr. Holbrook! You finally showed up! Do you have any idea? Rosaline’s been losing her mind looking for you.”
I listened to his complaints without much reaction, then told him a few important things. I asked him to step in as acting CEO for now and keep the company running smoothly.
After hanging up, I called Rosaline.
“Hello!”
But it wasn’t her voice.
I was caught off guard. “Where’s Rosaline?”
“Who are you? And why do you want to talk to her? If this is about the missing person notice, you can just tell me. Do you know anything about Caden?”
I recognized her voice immediately–Yvette. I couldn’t help but let out a mix of laug
and disbelief.
“You’re Yvette, right? I know your voice. It’s me–Caden, swear. Put Rosaline on the phone.” A scream echoed, followed by the sound of Yvette running in panic.

Then Rosaline’s voice came on, but all she managed was my name-“Caden“-before breaking down into sobs, unable to get another word out.
My own eyes stung as tears welled up. My voice shook when I asked, “Rosaline, why are you crying?”
We are destined mates, so I knew exactly why she was crying. She’d been worried sick while I was gone, and the guilt hit me hard.
Still, I told myself it was all worth it for the surprise I’d been planning.
“Where have you been? What have you been doing? Why didn’t you come back? Why didn’t you try to find me?” Rosaline’s voice was rough and strained as she fired off the questions.
“Rosaline, my Luna, take a breath. I’ve got something big to tell you, and I need you to remember every word.”
She calmed down a little. “Okay. Go ahead.”
“I’ve planned a grand wedding for us in the remote Marlyn, and of course, we’ll be the stars of the show! Everything is ready. I’ve arranged for a private plane. Once you land in Marlyn, it’ll pick you up right away.”
