Chapter 822 Rosaline’s Letter
The place was absolutely stunning.
The ocean stretched as far as I could see, spotless and crystal clear. Sitting not too far away on the rocky shore was a large–villa.
Waves slammed against the rocks below, creating loud, crashing sounds.
A few maids helped me inside, and I couldn’t believe how amazing everything looked.
The villa had three floors, offering ample space, privacy, and high–end comfort.
Everything inside–from the design to the furniture–was so luxurious that I couldn’t take my eyes off it.
I had to admit, Richard went all out for this.
Just because I was pregnant, he brought me all the way here.
“Where’s Caden?” I asked again.
This pregnancy was a huge deal–Caden definitely knew, but he hadn’t said anything when I woke up.
Even on the flight to this island, he didn’t come with me.,
Something just didn’t add up.
“Mr. Caden is catching up on his work,” one of the maids answered kindly. “You were unconscious for days, and he spent that whole time by your side. Now he’s dealing with the backlog.”
I could tell the maids weren’t going to tell me anything useful, so I stayed quiet and moved deeper into the house.
They took me to a room that was even more extravagant.
The curtains stretched from the tall ceiling to the floor, and real gold chandeliers sparkled as they swayed.
There were all kinds of supplies for pregnancy and newborns–enough to last a full 10 months.
Ten months…
I froze. Had Richard set this place up so I’d stay here for the entire pregnancy?
“Where’s my phone?” I asked the maid next to me.
“Mr. Richard said phones give off radiation that’s bad for the baby, so he took it away,” she explained.
Even my phone had been taken.
I narrowed my eyes. Something wasn’t right.
I had just gotten off a flight, and this island was clearly far from land. Without a plane or a boat, I was stuck.
Richard had clearly planned to keep me cut off.
I searched the house quickly, and just as I suspected, there wasn’t a single electronic device anywhere.
No newspapers, no TV–nothing to show what was happening outside.
I was totally isolated.
All this just because I’m pregnant? Richard went to such extremes to bring me here and take everything away?
What was he trying to do?
The maids around me never looked away, their eyes constantly fixed on me. It didn’t feel like they were there to care for me–it was more like they were watching my every move.
“This villa was specially bought by Mr. Richard so you could rest in peace,” one of them said quickly when she caught me watching her. “You’ve already seen how lovely it is here. The weather stays pleasant all year, which is perfect for taking care of your pregnancy.”
I nodded, knowing I wouldn’t get more answers, and chose not to push it for now.
Caden’s POV:
After handling things at the company, I went back to the hospital–only to find that Rosaline was gone.
She wasn’t there, and all her things had disappeared.
A sense of anxiety crept over me. Knowing Rosaline’s character, leaving at a moment like this didn’t make sense. Did she discover something?
I asked the receptionist, but all she said was that Rosaline had checked out earlier that morning. She didn’t know where Rosaline had gone.
I pulled out my phone and tried calling her, but I only got a message saying her number was no longer in service.
Something wasn’t right. I rushed home, and there, on the nightstand in our bedroom, lay a letter.
I opened it and immediately recognized her handwriting.
“Don’t worry about me. The company just landed a major deal, and I’m flying abroad to handle it. I’m doing. well, no need to worry.”
I folded the letter and let out a long breath.
As long as Rosaline didn’t know she was pregnant, everything would be alright.
Still, something didn’t sit right–writing a letter felt romantic, but if she had the time for that, why diant she just call?
Then again, Rosaline had always been tough and independent.
Now I regretted not telling her about the baby when I had the chance at the hospital.
If I had said something, maybe she wouldn’t have disappeared like this.
Yvette’s POV:
It had been a few days since, Rosaline left. Without her leadership, Starplay was a total mess, and the
employees had no clue what to do.
I was getting fed up. My family kept bugging me for money, and with no jobs lined up, I had no cash coming in.
I was slumped on the couch when my phone lit up with a call.
I looked at the screen–it was Richie Browning, someone from the industry.
I didn’t really feel like answering.
Now that Rosaline was gone, I had to chase gigs on my own. But without the manager or the company’s support, I kept running into dead ends.
Only Richie from a smaller entertainment agency had reached out.
But I didn’t like him much–he was overweight, wore thick glasses, and the way he looked at me always made me feel uncomfortable.
Still, after getting home, I did some digging and learned that his films always made a lot of money, and he often worked with famous actors.
In the end, I picked up the call.
He didn’t say much–just told me to show up for an audition.
I found it odd. I wasn’t exactly a big–name actress, so why was he interested in me?
But honestly, I didn’t have many options left.
So, I cleaned myself up and headed to the address he’d given me.
But the second I stepped inside, I was stunned.
