Chapter 809 Eleanor’s Meltdown
This isn’t as simple as it looks.”
Outside the hospital room, I looked at Caden, exhausted.
I got up before dawn, dressed up, and went to the wedding full of joy–and then some random she–wolf ruined it like it was nothing.
Anyone would’ve lose it.
Richard’s getting on in years. He was an Alpha, sure, but still. All that rage probably means he’ll need to stay in the hospital for a while.
“Do you trust me?” Caden frowned, holding my hand. “I’ve never seen her before.”
“I know.” I nodded, forcing a smile. “She was here for us. This isn’t your fault.”
We were busy rushing Richard to the hospital. With guests scattered and everything in chaos, no one knew where that troublemaker had run off to.
But as long as she was still in Rivemon, we would find her.
“I’m sorry you had to go through this.” Caden squeezed my hand, looking guilty.
“I’m fine.” I smiled, trying to reassure him.
“What happened to Richard?!”
Eleanor’s voice suddenly rang out from down the hall.
I sighed, frowning. Of course she came.
Richard had already sent her overseas. But since it was the wedding, and she’s Caden’s biological mother, she was brought back.
Now that she’s here, who knows what scene she’s about to cause?
“Grandpa’s still in surgery, Mom. Keep your voice down,” Caden said.
“Hmph! And whose fault is it that he landed in the hospital?”
Sure enough, her tone turned sharp. “What kind of son ships his own mom overseas? Only brings me back today, right before the wedding. Shameless.”
Caden’s face darkened.
“You were the one who started all this. He had no choice but to send you away. stepped in.
I couldn’t stay quiet and
But the moment she heard me, she snapped and shouted, “Don’t think just because you married my so you’re now the lady of the Holbrooks. As long as I’m alive, that seat’s not yours!”
She turned to Caden and dropped the bomb that almost made him explode.
“Now that the Alpha’s sick–how are you splitting the Eclipse Pack’s assets?”
Caden’s face went completely dark. He pointed at Eleanor, furious. “Grandpa’s still in there, and you’re already talking about splitting assets? My dear mother, don’t you think your heart’s a little too cold?”
Eleanor sneered, clicking her heels as she squared up to him. “What? You plan to keep it all for yourself? Looks like you’re the greedy one, my sweet son!”
“You-!” Caden raised his fist, but I caught his arm just in time.
“What, you’re gonna hit your own mother now?” Eleanor gritted her teeth, fearless. “See? Ever since you got with her, you’ve turned unfilial. You made your grandpa sick, and now you want to lay hands on me too!”
I sighed. Caden wasn’t an Alpha yet. If he touched his mom, they’d use it against him in a heartbeat.
I never thought Eleanor would go this far. She was done pretending. She wanted a full–on war with her son.
“Tch! Guess I raised you wrong. You dumped sweet Wendy to marry this woman. I honestly can’t figure out what you see in her.” She turned her aim on me.
Caden clenched his fist tighter, his voice cold. “Rosaline’s none of your business.”
“What’s all this shouting? Quiet down!” A werewolf nurse suddenly came out. “The Alpha–needs rest. Do you people even care?”
“Hmph. We’ll see about that.”
Eleanor stormed off.
After all, Richard was still the Alpha. Waking him up wouldn’t help her–it’d only make her look worse and kill any shot at the inheritance.
The drama at the hospital had barely cooled down, but online, things were just heating up.
Since it was the Eclipse Pack’s heir’s wedding, we’d invited tons of media to livestream it.
Naturally, that she–wolf incident got caught on camera and blasted all over the internet. Pretty soon, clueless netizens swarmed to defend her.
It didn’t take long for some gossip junkies to dig up her name–Opaline Monte–and flood her Twitter.
“I can’t believe Caden’s that kind of guy. He got her pregnant before marriage, then married Rosaline. Who’s the real homewrecker here?”
“This isn’t just cheating. He’s been juggling both women. Disgusting!”
The storm kept snowballing. Public opinion started turning ugly against Caden.
