Chapter 804 The Impact of Trending Topics
Rosaline’s POV:
I barely slept last night.”
Even though I chose to forgive Caden, the image of Jessica clinging to him in that flirty way kept replaying in my mind. It made me feel sick.
I tossed and turned all night, unable to rest. Eventually, I just lay there, watching Caden until morning.
As the sun peeked through the window, light brushed over his face. When I saw his fingers move, I gently reached out and held his hand.
“Caden?”
His eyes opened slowly. “Rosie… You’re awake?”
His voice was rough. I helped him sit up, keeping a cool expression as I left to get him a glass of water. I handed it to him.
“Drink it.”
Caden immediately noticed my mood and tried to smooth my furrowed brow. “What’s wrong?”
I pressed my lips together. “Nothing.”
He gave a small smile. “Why do you seem upset?”
I glared at him. “You’re still smiling? Why were you at the Monarch Hotel last night?”
He looked confused at first, then frowned. “Nicolas asked me to meet him for a business deal. I stepped outside for a bit, and suddenly my whole body felt weak.”
I snorted and nodded. “Seems like Jessica and the Stars Pack Alpha planned this.”
Turning to Caden, I sighed. “They even had tranquilizers with them. Good thing I showed up when I did. If I had been any later, Jessica might have … ”
Caden’s face darkened. He squeezed my hand firmly. “I would never allow that. Her scent made me feel sick. Even if I lost control, I wouldn’t go near her.”
The sincerity in his voice made my frustration fade. I ended up covering my mouth and giggling.
After spending a bit more time with him, I left for work.
But I hadn’t even fully stepped into the building when my assistant came rushing over.
“Rosie, something’s wrong. The internet is blowing up with rumors about you.”
I rushed back to my office and immediately checked Twitter. Indeed, the trending section was flooded with accusations that I had cheated.
The photos showed Connor on one knee, offering me a bunch of flowers and asking me to marry him.
His face looked serious and full of emotion as he stared up at me, while I stood frozen, shocked, my hand

covering my mouth.
It wasn’t hard to see how people might think I had said yes.
I let out a tired sigh.
Last night, I’d been too wrapped up in Caden’s issues to deal with the incident, and now the rumors had gotten way out of hand. By morning, people had started throwing personal attacks at me.
My Twitter inbox was packed with angry messages, their hatred almost jumping off the screen.
“Rosie, what should we do now?” my assistant asked, clearly nervous.
I gave a small shrug. “It’s all just lies. No reason to panic.”
I was used to seeing my name in trending posts filled with wild gossip.
If anyone was at fault, it was the nonstop media and the paparazzi, always shadowing Starplay and me, ready to twist anything into a scandal.
Massaging my forehead, I glanced at the endless wave of tabloid articles. I knew the smartest thing to do was to stay calm and let it pass.
Trying to explain myself now would only bring more mockery. Sometimes, keeping quiet was the safer choice.
Only solid proof could shut everyone up. Without that, nothing I said would matter.
Then, out of nowhere, Connor tweeted.
“Please stop blaming Rosie. I acted on my own. But I still believe she’ll say yes one day!”
That just made everything worse.
“Seriously? A CEO pulling this kind of drama? I thought she and Caden were great. I guess I was wrong!”
“That’s it. I’m done supporting her.”
My Twitter filled up with harsh messages, and there was nothing I could do except turn off the comments.
I had dealt with the internet’s ever–changing moods for a long time.
Still, I knew it couldn’t be ignored forever. If I stayed silent, things would only get worse.
Right then, my phone buzzed. Caden was calling.
“I saw what people were saying,” he said, his voice rough. “Come back to the hotel from last night. I’ll be
there.”
