Chapter 782 Demanding an Explanation
The video of my argument with Jessica spread like wildfire across the internet.
Just as I’d expected, it became the day’s top trending topic–blasting its way onto every major news feed.
And my sudden appearance in that scene crushed whatever fake couple chemistry Jessica and Caden had been trying to spin.
Jessica, the pampered heiress of Stars Pack, was caught in public fighting over a man with me–Eclipse Pack’s future Luna. Netizens didn’t hold back. The online ridicule came fast and brutal.
Within a day, the backlash dragged Stars Pack’s stock down to a hard stop. And naturally, it didn’t take long before Alpha Nicolas of Stars Pack took notice.
In an effort to save face–both for his daughter and his pack’s financial position–he reached out the very next day through his assistant and requested to meet me at a café.
I hadn’t done anything wrong, so I agreed without hesitation.
When I arrived, I saw Nicolas already seated in the center of the empty café. He’d clearly cleared the place out before I got there.
“Mr. Sullivan,” I greeted him calmly and took the seat across from him. “What can I help you with?”
Nicolas lifted his eyes and looked me over for a few moments before finally speaking.
“I’m sure you’ve seen the video making rounds online.”
I nodded with a polite smile.
“Since Mr. Holbrook is now your fiancé, there’s no place for Jessica in his life. Her involvement was foolish, sure. But did you really have to humiliate her the way you did?”
I couldn’t help but laugh. So typical. They always tried to sound so dignified while shifting the blame.
“Isn’t your daughter a grown woman by now?” I said, my tone firm. “Throwing herself at a taken man–in public–and you’re asking me to be the one who shows restraint? If anyone else had been in my position, they wouldn’t have backed down either.”
Nicolas seemed slightly taken aback by how composed and sharp my response was.
“Well, even so,” he replied, regaining his edge, “you shouldn’t have embarrassed her like that in front of everyone. What you said reflected poorly on Stars Pack.”
I raised an eyebrow. “And her showing up at my fiancé’s company, clinging to him in an acceptable behavior for a pack heiress?”
At that, Nicolas‘ demeanor shifted. His aura flared as he tried to assert dominance.
ad daylight–is that
But I didn’t flinch. I was an Alpha/too–and a Shadow Pack Alpha at that. His presence couldn’t shake me.
“My daughter’s mistakes are mine to correct. They don’t give you the right to grab her by the collar and humiliate her,” he snapped, no longer hiding his intent. “I’m here today to get an explanation. She’s never been treated like that in her life.”

Chapter 782 Demanding an Explanation
“Oh?” I let out a cold laugh and pulled out my phone, showing him the video,
“Didn’t she shove me first? What, your daughter can start things, but no one else is allowed to strike backr
“Young lady,” Nicolas said, voice heavy with warning, “that’s not how things work. If she misbehaved, that for Stars Pack to deal with. You don’t get to decide when to retaliate.”
I laughed out loud this time. “Wow. So the laws of Rivemon are dictated by Stars Pack now? Not facts, not fairness–just whatever you say?”
I locked eyes with him. “If she has something to say, she can say it to my face. She’s an adult. It’s time she started handling her own mess.”
“You’re being stubborn,” he growled, his expression darkening. “I came here for answers. Don’t waste my time.”
“I thought I made myself pretty clear,” I replied coolly. Honestly, if Nicolas weren’t a successor to a pack, 1 wouldn’t have even given him this much of my time.
They were the ones in the wrong. And now they wanted to twist it like I was at fault?
“I see where this is going-” Nicolas started rising from his seat, but before he could finish, a familiar voice cut through the tension.
“Hold it.”
I turned toward the door and saw Andrew and Shay walking in together.
“Shay.” Relief washed over me as I stood up and walked over to greet them.
“Mr. Bailey. Mr. Lindell,” Nicolas said, stiffening a little. He had no choice but to stand as well–both men carried massive reputations, especially in the arts, which Stars Pack was heavily invested in.
“I’d like to know exactly,” Shay said calmly as he stepped forward, placing a hand on my shoulder, “what my apprentice did to offend you here, Mr. Sullivan.“,
“Ms. Sinclair insulted my daughter in public,” Nicolas replied without missing a beat. “I came here to get an explanation.”
Even with two masters backing me, Nicolas wasn’t backing down,
Andrew gave a slow, almost amused nod. “My apprentice has a bit of a temper. If she got out of line, I hope you’ll forgive her.”
With that one line, he almost helped clear my name.
an explanation
Nicolas‘ expression turned icy. “I give respect where it’s due. And I respect both of you But my daughter is now the subject of online abuse, and our stock has taken a dive. If I don’t walk away today, Jessica won’t let this go quietly.”
