Chapter 774 Becoming an Apprentice

Shay finally spoke up, trying to talk some sense into him. “Come on, man. It’s just an apprentice. And you know how people talk about her. Aren’t you worried she’ll drag you into some mess?”
But Andrew didn’t budge. His expression stayed firm, like he’d already made up his mind. “If everyone else. was too blind to see her potential, then that’s on them. I should be thanking them for not snatching her
up before I did.”
Shay just sighed and gave me a helpless shrug, like even he couldn’t change Andrew’s mind.

Seeing how serious Andrew was, I didn’t know what to say. After thinking it through, I realized this really did have some serious skills. And maybe this was fate. If I became his apprentice, I could definitely learn a lot.
And the truth was–I genuinely loved art. That thought alone had me wavering.
Andrew said, “Don’t worry. I’ll teach you everything I know. And ignore what people say about you. One day, they’ll realize how big of a mistake it was to pass you up.”
I couldn’t help but smile. Who would’ve thought someone as respected as Andrew could be this smooth with words?
“Alright, I’m in,” I said, stepping back. I clasped my hands together and gave him a deep, respectful bow. “Master, please accept me as your apprentice.”
Andrew quickly waved it off. “Oh come on, that’s too old for us. You don’t need to do all that old–school stuff.”
Still, my gesture clearly made him happy. He patted my shoulder, grinning from ear to ear. “It’s great. I’m glad you said yes.”
I felt a little overwhelmed. I hadn’t expected to be taken in as an apprentice by someone this legendary–it really was a pleasant surprise.
Then Andrew said something out of the blue, “By the way, there’s this exclusive art world gathe….g coming up in a few days. Since you’re my apprentice now, want to come with me?”
I was caught off guard. I was about to ask if I should prepare anything, but remembered I had just told him I didn’t care about outside opinions. So I nodded. “Sure, I’ll go with you.”
That evening, I headed home and spent some time getting ready.
This wasn’t any typical business event. I couldn’t show up dressed in flashy clothes like I used to–that’d only make me stick out in the worst way.
So I picked out a soft green maxi dress, tied my hair up into a high bun, and went for a classic, understated look that gave off a quiet, refined vibe.
I checked the mirror, and right on cue, Caden gave me a nod of approval. “Yup. That’s my Luna. You look good in anything.”
I laughed, not expecting Caden to suddenly become so charming with words.
Then I got into the car Andrew had arranged and headed to the event.

Earlier that morning, Andrew had given me a formal invite. When I showed it to the werewolf guarding the entrance, he gave me a long once–over, visibly surprised.
I rolled my eyes a little. Couldn’t blame him, really. With all the tabloid drama and online hate swirling around me, I was used to being looked at like that.
Once he opened the door, I stepped inside.
I had the looks, sure–and tonight I’d gone with a more elegant style. I even wore a hairpin shaped like a flower, which added to the whole classy aesthetic.
The second I walked into the room, every pair of eyes turned to me.
Then someone in the crowd suddenly pointed and shouted, “Wait a minute. Isn’t that Rosaline?”
Everyone started whispering.
“Yeah, that’s her. What’s someone from the entertainment industry doing at an art event like this?”
Just like that, the air filled with snide remarks and mocking laughter. I couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed.
I glanced around–Andrew wasn’t here yet. So I just sat down in a quiet corner by myself, keeping my distance.
Still, I didn’t let it get to me. I was here to absorb the vibe, learn from the real artists, and just soak in the culture. Their insults didn’t mean anything to me.
“She seriously showed up here?”
People couldn’t stop whispering every time they passed. I’d been branded as talentless by the media, and the fact that I came from the entertainment industry only made it worse. To them, I was the epitome of tacky.
“She probably just bought her way in.” Someone scoffed. “Rich girl thinking she belongs here.”
I ignored the trash talk, but Freya was clearly getting worked up.
“Alpha, stop pretending. Just release your aura already and let them know who they’re dealing with!” she urged.
I shook my head. “Forget it. Artists like this get real dramatic when they think something’s unfair. No need to stoop to their level.”
This event was a big deal. You couldn’t just buy your way in. Only people who had earned real recognition. in the field were invited to these inner–circle meetups.
I wasn’t about to start defending myself. I just sat quietly in the corner.
Then, a voice broke through the noise. “What the hell are you guys even saying?”
I turned my head and saw Juliet walking toward me.
Her face was bare, no makeup, yet she was practically glowing, looking soft and untouched,
I blinked. Juliet? Shewasanactualartisttoo?
